Mrs. Brown was a member of First Congregational Church of New Gloucester, and recently joined the Gray Congregational Church. She was a member of Gray Meal Site and Gray Senior Citizens and several New Gloucester organizations.
She is survived by five sons, Doug and Alan, of Gray, Spencer, of Cummings, GA, Kenneth and Tom, both of New Gloucester; a sister, Theresa Riel, of Ludlow, MA; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be from 7 to 9 P.M. on Friday, August 4, at Wilson Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at First Congregational Church of New Gloucester. Burial will be private.
Michael Fowler, 44

Michael H. Fowler, 44, formerly of Gray, died July 14 in Clearwater, Texas; three sons, Michael Jr., of South Paris, Mathew, of Oxford, and Willard, of Houston; his father, of Naples; and a brother, Jeffrey A., of Bridgton.
A memorial Mass was celebrated on Tuesday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Gray, with the Monsignor Robert Lavoie officiating. Burial is in Gray Village Cemetery. Arrangements were by Dolby Funeral Home.
Helen Gary, 56

Helen Gary, 56, died Sunday, July 30, at a Lewiston Hospital.
Born June 29, 1944, the daughter of C. Raymond and Nellie Rowe Segars, she graduated Pennell Institute in 1962 and was a graduate of Portland Barber School.
Mrs. Gary was the owner of J.J. Elms Again Restaurant in Mechanic Falls. Mrs. Gary was the current secretary of the Order of the Eastern Star Golden Sheath Chapter. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 150 and 4131 Order of the Eagles. Mrs. Gary enjoyed traveling, baking, sewing, playing video games and family gatherings.
She is predeceased by her mother, Nellie Segars, in 1992 and her husband, Richard N. Gary, who died in 1996.
Surviving are her father, C. Raymond Segars and stepmother, Phyllis Segars, of Gray; four sons, Joseph, of Mechanic Falls, Philip, of Brunswick, Robert, of Mechanic Falls, Andrew, of Springvale; one daughter, Lisa Chisholm, of Mechanic Falls; two sisters, Shirley Ordway, of Gray, and Elizabeth Robidoux, of Springfield, MA; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private. Arrangements were by Wilson Funeral Home.
Laurie A. McKay, 44

Laurie Beth McKay, 44, a resident of Bald Hill Road, New Gloucester, died at her home early Saturday, September 2, following a courageous five-year battle with breast cancer.
She was born in Akien, New York, a son of Mellen Newman and Helen Grace Libby, he spent his childhood in the Washington, until taking a job with NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center at the Green belt Complex.
He worked as a data processing specialist for more than 26 years and was involved in all manned-flight missions, including Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and the space shuttle program, including the Challenger disaster in 1986.
Mr. Libby retired in 1986. He was a communicant of St. Gregory's Church for many years, serving as a camp counselor when he was a teenager. He was a member of the American Legion in Gray and was past secretary, treasurer and president of the Eagles in New Gloucester. Mr. Libby was a computer enthusiast who liked the challenge of all electrical equipment and toys.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Jean M. Libby, of Gray; two sons, Richard Michael of Northvale, NJ, and Joseph Patrick, of Germantown, MD; two daughters, Cynthia Jean Saunders, of Gray, and Jacqueline Renee Fields, of Germantown; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Francis N. Libby, of Royal, Arkansas; and one sister, Grace L. Herbert, of Port Townsend, Maine.
Mary Schools, 53

Mary Schools, 53, of Tim's Run, Gray, died September 2 after a long illness.
She was born here, a daughter of Bob and Eleanor Collins McClain, and graduated from Scarborough High School in 1965 and the University of Southern Maine for 17 years, starting as secretary and progressing to director of special events. She later became a real estate broker for ERA Worden in Lewiston and then Allied Real Estate in Windham.
She enjoyed snowmobiling and four-wheeling at her camp, and took motorcycle trips.
Surviving are her husband of 33 years, Clifford Schools of Gray; a son, Erik School, of Gray; a brother, Bill Collins, of Scarborough; and three sisters, Sandra Wotton, of Harrison, Judy Ames, of Scarborough, and Roberta Marquis, of Terryville, Conn.
