CLYDENE FAYE (LEGACY) SAVAGE
MILLINOCKET and PRINCETON - Clydene Faye (Legacy) Savage, 87, wife of Kenneth R. Savage, died September 5, 2003 at a Lincoln healthcare facility. She was born in Columbia Falls, June 20, 1916, the daughter of Clyde Neal Legacy and Mildred Etta (Drisko) Legacy. Clydene attended Princeton schools, graduating in 1934. She graduated from Gorham Normal School in 1937. Clydene married Kenneth Savage on July 21, 1938. She taught school in Princeton for two years. From 1941-1945 they lived in Hampden, Eastport, Caribou, Ellsworth Falls, Mattawamkeag, Millinocket and Portland. They moved back to Princeton in 1945 where she and Kenneth founded, owned and operated the Legacy and Savage Ford dealership from 1945-1980. She was a bookkeeper for their real estate and insurance businesses. She and Kenneth built and operated the Log House Camps from 1945-1970. She was very active in and dedicated to the Princeton Congregational Church. She served on the Board of Deacons and was a member of the church's Sunshine Circle. She was also past worthy matron of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Rod and Gun Club and was president of the Princeton Woman's Club. Above all else, Clydene was a very loving and supportive wife and mother.
In addition to her husband of 66 years, Kenneth, she is survived by two daughters, Patricia S. Ulman and her husband Oscar of Millinocket and Judith S. Webber and her husband Gary of Trenton; four granddaughters, Pamela Farquhar and her husband Paul, Janelle Ulman, Kristen Webber and Brianna Webber; two great-grandchildren, Sidney Farquhar and Benjamin Farquhar. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2003, at the Princeton Congregational Church with the Rev. Dana Kadey officiating. Interment will be in the Princeton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Princeton Congregational Church, c/o Pauline Wookey, RR 1 Box 101, Princeton, 04668. HOLLIS W. SHEDD
MILO- Hollis W. Shedd, 67, husband of Rosalie (Toby) Shedd, died July 26, 2003 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born in Mattawamkeag, January 21, 1936, the son of Hollis and Lois (Byers) Shedd. Hollis was an avid outdoors man, he loved hunting and fishing and especially loved Northern Parker and Shain Parker; 15 great-grandchildren, Daniel, Sarah, Tia, Rodney, Amanda, Tony, Stephanie, Samantha, Jamie, Todd, Lacie, Levi, Bobby, Aundonia, and Jacob; two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clayton Crocker officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will be in Town Line Hill Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Colonial Healthcare Activities Fund, or a
special equipment fund at Colonial Healthcare. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
LUANN G. SHOREY
LOWELL - Luann G. Shorey, 41, wife of John Shorey, died Aug 21, 2003 at her home. She was born in Lincoln, Nov, 9, 1961, the daughter of Maurice and Pauline (Whitney) Chase.
Luann loved music, especially "the Blues", and she enjoyed going Kayaking. In addition to her husband, John, she is survived a son Luke of Burlington; a grandson, Marcus James Earl Shorey of Orono; her parents, Pauline and Ronald Smith of Burlington and Maurice and Hazel Chase of Chester; two brothers and a sister, Travis Chase of Lincoln, Patty Mulligan of Webster Plt., and John Chase of Burlington; a half sister, Barbara Babcock of Lowell; her mother-in-law, Beverly Cole of Lowell; and her special "kids", Lacey and Suzy-Q. She was predeceased by a son, Jeremy John Ryder Chase.
Visitation will be private for family only at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lowell Cemetery, with the Rev. Keith Shorey officiating.
NORRIS E. SIBLEY
BANGOR - Norris E. Sibley, 74, husband of Ellen (Bamber) Sibley, died Oct. 31, 2003, at a Bangor hospital after a short illness. He was born in Ellsworth, Feb. 14, 1929, the son of Ray and Mattie (Noyes) Sibley. Norris was a member of Forest Lodge of Masons, Springfield, and was employed by H O Bouchard Trucking until his retirement. He enjoyed his camp in Prentiss and his summers at Pleasant Lake.
In addition to his wife of 51 years, Ellen, he is survived by three children, Cheryl and Ernie Griswold of Bangor, Laurence and Debbie Sibley of Levant, and Vicki Morin and Allen Treadwell of Glenburn; two grandchildren, Laurence Sibley, Jr. and Lynn Martin and two great-granddaughters, Emma and Madisen Hewett; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Louise Worster and a brother, Laurence Sibley.

FRANK X. SIMON, JR.
MATTAWAMKEAG- Frank X. Simon, Jr., 75, died Oct. 17, 2003 at the home of his nephew, Timothy Simon and his wife Susan, where he made his home for the last four years. He was born in Old Town, Oct. 23, 1927, the son of Frank X. Simon, Sr. and Bernice (Bradeen) Simon. Frank was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked at James River. He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed going to his camp.
In addition to his nephew, Timothy of Mattawamkeag he is survived by three brothers, Cecil Simon and his wife Janice of Bangor, James Simon of Old Town and Charles Simon and his wife Loraine of Danforth; a brother-in-law, James Cyr of Old Town; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Gladys Cyr.

IRENE S. SKIDGELL
LAGRANGE - Irene S. Skidgell, 81, wife of the late Alfred Skidgell, Sr., died Dec. 30, 2003, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born in Mattawamkeag, Oct. 13, 1922, the daughter of Claude and Ethel (Wyman) Russell. Irene loved to do jig saw puzzles, and enjoyed watching game shows and westerns on TV. She enjoyed siamese cats and had a large collection of ceramic miniature siamese cats.
She is survived by a daughter, Ethel Ann Plante of Howland; a son, Claude Skidgell of Lincoln; two step-children, Herbert Skidgell and Dorene Maine, the daughter of Lottie (Crocker) and Guilford Cole. She is survived by Ralph E. Stratton, her beloved husband of 56 years; her siblings, Marion Beaulieu of Mattawamkeag, John Cole and Dorothy of Florida and Glen Cole and Connie of Carter and Ellie of East Winn with their children Keri, Erika, Aaron and Colin; Mark and Claudina of Brodhead, KY with their son Shane; Sarah and Bill Jacobs of Jacksonville FL with their daughters Heidi and Lisa; Sylvia and Tom McGibbon of E. Millinocket with their children Shawn McGowan, Ryan McGowan and Nichole Beard; David of Palm Springs, CA; Brian and Naomi of E. Millinocket with their daughters, Betsy and Rebecca; Norman and Karen of Littleton, MA with their daughters Emily and Katherine; Phillip and Marie of Triangle, VA with their children Amie, Steven and Erin; Jackie and Bill Powers of E. Millinocket with their daughters, Samantha and Nicole; as well as five great-grandchildren. A loving caring woman, she and her husband also opened their home and hearts to a multitude of foster children. Mabel was predeceased by her brother Robert Cole.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Springfield Congregational Church, Thursday, October 2, at 1:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to her church, Springfield Congregational Church, P.O. Box 7, Springfield, ME 04487.
ALYRE ALDO THIBODEAU
West Enfield-Alyre Aldo Thibodeau, 83, husband of Merle (Littlefield) Thibodeau, died February 10, 2004, at a Lincoln healthcare facility. He was born July 7, 1920 in Seigas, NB, Canada, the son of George and Marie Thibodeau. Alyre was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a fourth degree Knight. He loved hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, Merle, he is survived by two sons, Ronald Thibodeau and his wife Joyce of West Enfield and Robert Thibodeau of Patten; one daughter, Claudette Dube and her husband Theo of South Carolina; three brothers, Aurelle Thibodeau of Milford, Conday Thibodeau and Alban Thibodeau, both of Caribou; three sisters, Lorette Violette of St. Leonard, NB, Edberge Coco and Adelaide Gagnon, both of New Hampshire; a sister, Loretta and brother-in-law, Richard Manzo of Millinocket; a sister-in-law, Juanita Hunter; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Hanneman and a daughter, Shari Thibodeau.
There will be a private family service at a later date. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the Lincoln Lakes Region Dialysis Center at Penobscot Valley Hospital, c/o Eastern Oklahoma City to be near their daughter, Anne.
Irene is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Anne Frances and Delmont Knights, a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew A. and Barbara J. Twombly. She is survived also by grandchildren, Tamson Parkhurst and her husband Thomas Parkhurst of Edmond, OK, Andrew Knights of Amarillo, Oklahoma City, OK, Aaron Twombly of Portland, ME, and Daniel Twombly and his wife Lisa of Hampden, ME; great-grandchildren James Durant, Zachary Parkhurst, Benjamin Parkhurst, Danielle Knights, and Matthew Doyle Twombly. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Arno Twombly, a daughter Penny and a brother, Weston Ferguson.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Howland Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, with committal following the service.
HILDA J. WASHBURN
Lincoln- Hilda J. Washburn, 86, wife of the late Lewis Washburn, died February 17, 2004 at a Lincoln hospital. She was born in Lincoln, August 16, 1917, the daughter of Alvah and Josephine (Mott) Libby. Hilda loved knitting and crocheting. She was a hard worker and enjoyed mowing the lawn. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends.
She is survived by a son, David Washburn and his wife Charlene of Lincoln; two daughters, Carolyn Alexander of Lincoln and Audrey Moores and her friend Rick Fusco of Northport, Sherman Mills, Michael Thibodeau of Sanford, Judy Camp of Amherst, VA, Kim Caldwell of Early, New Hampshire; a daughter Pauline Wakefield Bouchard and her husband, Guildas, of Millinocket; four grandchildren, Jody Ladd, Nicholas Bouchard, Melissa Bouchard and Patrick Bouchard; a great-granddaughter, Katelynn Elizabeth Ladd; a sister, Norma Roberts and her husband, Donnie of Howland; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be private. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road Lincoln, with the Rev. Clayton Crocker officiating. Interment will be in Millinocket Cemetery.
CLARENCE L. WEATHERBEE
LINCOLN - Clarence Lane Weatherbee lost his courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease on Sunday June 22. He left this world surrounded by those who truly cared for him. Called "Puppa" as a name of endearment by those who loved him, Clarence will be remembered as a man who adored and cherished his family above all. In his life he touched many, and leaves behind only the fondest of memories for those who had the honor of knowing him. Clarence was born to Robert and Hattie in 1918 in the town Lincoln. As a student at Mattanawcook Academy, Clarence excelled at all sports and was known for his spirited ways. Upon graduating high school Clarence continued his education at Husson College where he also found success as an athlete. During World War II Clarence served his country with valor in the United States Army as an army intelligence officer. After the War he fell in love with and married Helen Catherine Hackett of Bangor with whom he had two children, Michael Weatherbee and Peggy McPike.
In his life Clarence traveled a prosperous and varied career path. He was a schoolteacher and coach in the Lincoln school system, a United States customs official, and finally retired after his tenure as a Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Susan and Sarah Payne of Brunswick, Shane and Brayeden Wescott of Mariaville, Steven, Christopher, Isabella, Dorothy and Angelina Marino of Mashpee, Mass.; nephews and niece, James Harriman and his wife Paulette of Whitman, Mass, Peter Harriman and his wife, Joyce of Brockton, Mass, Gail Harriman of Virginia; great nephews and nieces, Jeff and Matthew Chamberlain, James and Bonnie Harriman, and Daniel Harriman. Arlene was blessed with one last, great hoorah of her 91 years in N. Fort Myers, FL for the Christmas holidays with her loving daughter and her family.
