HELEN DAWSON
HOWLAND - Helen Dawson, 67, wife of 49 years to Phillip Dawson, Sr., died Oct. 24, 2004 at a Lincoln hospital, after a long illness. She was born July 14, 1937, in East Meadow, Long Island, N.Y. On April 17, 1955, she married Phillip Dawson, Sr., and resided in Howland for 49 years. Helen was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially holidays, and following her children and their children in school and sports activities.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Phillip L Dawson, Sr.; three sons and their wives, Phillip L. Dawson, Jr. and his wife Janet, Dwight A. Dawson and his wife, Carol, and Brian P. Dawson and his wife, Karen, all of Howland; a daughter, Debora L. (Dawson) Jordan and her husband, Daniel of Waltham, ME; grandchildren, Brandie (Dawson) Smith and her husband Dan of Enfield, Rachael (Dawson) Hallett and her husband, Bruce of Bucksport, Larry Ellis and his wife, Jill of Bangor, Sarah Dawson of Bucksport, Scott Ellis of Bangor, Ashley Dawson, Brooke Dawson, Derek Dawson, Erin Dawson, and Kirstie Dawson, all of Howland; great-grandchildren, Anaraivyn and Tierairis Smith of Enfield, and Tyler Hallett of Bucksport; three brothers, Peter Panse and his wife, Irene of Douglassville, Florida, and George Panse of Pompano Beach; two sisters, Frances Gibbons of Port St. Lucie, N.Y.
At Helen's request, visitation will be private, and a private service will be held at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, with the Rev. Gerry Dill, pastor of New York and Orient- Angeline Deering, 81, wife of the late Walter Deering, passed away Nov 8, 2004, after a long illness, at a Sharon, CT hospital. She was born in Bancroft, July 20, 1923, the daughter of Nelson and Sylvia (Brawn) McCormack. Angeline was a member of the Grange and the Eastern Star.
She is survived by a son, Ronald Deering and his wife Carole of Winthrop; a daughter, Amber Spinney and her husband William of Dover Plains, NY; two brothers, Earl McCormack of Millinocket and Frank McCormack of Wytopitlock; a sister, Lois Harvey of Bancroft; three grandchildren, Tanya Spinney Shook, Troy Deering and Rondell Deering; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Walter, she was predeceased by a brother, Leroy McCormack.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2004 at the Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, Danforth. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Orient Cemetery. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the American Cancer Society, One Main Street, # 300, Topsham, ME 04086-1240.
ALICE K. EVANS
EAST MILLINOCKET - Alice K. Evans, 80, died Sept. 30, 2004, at a Bangor hospital, after a brief illness. She was born Dec. 16, 1923, in Lee, the daughter of Arthur and Thelma (Worster) Rideout.
Alice was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Robert Evans. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Briggs McEachern of Waltham, Mass.; a granddaughter, Kathryn Ullmann of Marblehead, Mass.; a grandson, Robert A. McEachern of Waltham, Mass.; a great-granddaughter, Kathryn Susan Ullmann; two sisters, Jean Watson and her husband, Al of Lincoln and Evelyn Tienken and her husband, Frank, of Maxfield; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln, with the Rev. Regginal Adams officiating. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
STANLEY C. FAULKNER
BIDDEFORD and LINCOLN - Stanley Charles "Ike" Faulkner, 101, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away, Sunday, Oct 17, 2004, at St. Andre's Nursing Home in Biddeford. He was born in Luneberg County, Nova Scotia, Oct. 9, 1903, the son of Charles Austin and Miriam (Oikle) Faulkner. In 1910 the family moved to the U.S. and settled in the Hartland area. Stanley married Audrey E. Webster in 1933 and they made their home in Lincoln. He worked for Eastern Pulp & Paper for 32 years. He was an ardent bowler and loved to fish and hunt. He also loved working in the gardens. He will always be remembered by his grandchildren for the adventures of going for an ice cream, fishing, swimming and picnics, as he always called them "our secret missions."
"Ike", as he was known to all, is survived by a son, Dana B. Faulkner and his wife, Lin of Saco, six grandchildren, Ms. Gretchen Gagnon of Biddeford, Mrs. Ray (Heidi) Pottle of Windham, Ms. Robyn Googins of Portland, Miss Lori Oliver of Gorham, Mark Helsor of Lincoln and Wade Helsor of East Millinocket; seven great-grandchildren, Phillip, Michelle, Nicole and Joseph Gagnon, Ryan Pottle, Haily Googins and Dominic Oliver; three great-great-grandchildren, Aaron and McKala Gagnon and Ashley Lawson, a brother, Max of Brewer and a sister, Ruby Springer of Brunswick; a special nephew, Lawson Helsor and his wife, Janice of Lincoln; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m.Tuesday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. MASHA N. FITZPATRICK
DANFORTH - Masha N. Fitzpatrick, 94, wife of the late Don E. Fitzpatrick, died July 30, 2004, at a Houlton healthcare facility. She was born Dec. 4, 1909, in Kingman, the daughter of Orin and Anna (Briggs) Nelson. Masha was very active in the community during her lifetime. She was a member of the Maine.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Fitzpatrick and his wife Ardis of Martha's Vineyard, Mass; and David Fitzpatrick of Bancroft; a daughter, Sandra and her husband Joseph MacDonald of Bancroft; a sister, Beulah Preble of Millinocket; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Don E. Fitzpatrick, Jr.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road Danforth. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Danforth Methodist Church, with the Rev. Leon Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Haynesville. ANNIE ARLINE FLOWER
LINCOLN - Annie Arline Flower, 88, wife of the late Robert I. Flower, died Aug. 17, 2004, at a Lincoln healthcare facility. She was born July 17, 1916, in Drew, the daughter of Kenneth and Annie (Gray) Butterfield. Arline had a special place in her heart for her childhood home town called Drew, and her heart would drift there often recalling her childhood days. She called it a "magical time and place." Arline had a special love in her life which was her husband, Bob, whom she loved with all her heart. Their love for each other was extended to their family and friends, and their home was always considered a special place to visit. Arline holds a special place in the hearts of all her nephews and nieces. She was a special aunt to all and all nephews and nieces will miss her.
In addition to her husband, Robert, she was predeceased by two brothers, Galen Butterfield and Rodney Butterfield and a sister, Margaret Theriault. She was also predeceased by a niece, Jane King.
Friends and family are invited to meet at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at the Lincoln Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Young officiating.
ELEANOR M. FOLSTER
LINCOLN - Eleanor M. Folster, 92, wife of the late Forest Folster, died Aug. 2, 2004, at a Lincoln healthcare facility. She was born July 25, 1912 in Veazie. Eleanor graduated from Castine Normal School. She loved to shop and to play bridge. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Winn and enjoyed attending ECW.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Howard and Dorothy Folster of Enfield and Lanny and Lucille Folster of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Jeff Folster and his wife, Jay of Enfield, Kathie Slowikowski of Lincoln. Michelle Arthurs and her husband, Bobbie of Mattawamkeag, and Joe Folster of Lincoln; a brother, Francis Webster of Veazie; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carolyn Metzler officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
RICHARD L. FOX
LOWELL - Richard L. Fox, 89, husband of the late Anita (Michaud) Fox, died Aug. 19, 2004, at a Howland healthcare facility. He was born, May 18, 1915, in Lowell, the son of Lloyd L. and Angie M. (Goodwin) Fox. Dick owned and operated Fox's Garage in Lowell. He worked from the time he was able to squeeze the bellows at his grandfather's forge. His work began as fixing wagons and shoeing horses, and he repaired most children's bicycles at least once. His business evolved into repairing automobiles and selling gas and oil and he had a small store at the garage. The garage was the town gathering place for the men of the area, who all made at least one visit a day. On the few occasions that Dick wasn't busy, he could be found playing solitaire in the window of the garage, or sitting in a chair in the open garage doors enjoying the fresh air. Dick really enjoyed watching his grandsons grow up around the garage and at Escutarsis Lake. He was a life member of Horeb Lodge #93, A.F. & A.M.
He is survived by a daughter and her husband, Bette and Harold Whitten of Lowell; two grandsons and their wives, Hal and Kim Whitten of Howland, and Jeff and Cheryl Whitten of Enfield; four great-grandchildren, Katie, Alissa, Jacob and Hannah; a sister, Laura Rolfe of Lowell; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Anita, he was predeceased by two brothers, Orman and George, and two sisters, Margaret Higgins and Anne Bland.
Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A masonic memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Sunday. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the West Enfield Cemetery, with the Rev. Wayne Perry officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Escutarsis Grange Building Improvement Fund.
LAWRENCE E. GIFFORD
WINN- Lawrence E. Gifford, 91, died August 7, 2004 at a Lincoln hospital, with his beloved wife of 71 years, Louise (Twist) Gifford, and his children by his side. He was born in Lee, May 11, 1913, the son of Ira and Vilsia (McAlpine) Gifford. Mr. Gifford worked for years as a woods contractor hauling logs and pulp in various parts of Florida, Mary Libbey of Molunkus and Jean Smith and her husband Fletcher of Lincoln; thirteen grandchildren, Robert Butler, Jr., and his wife Alison, Ann Coltart and her husband Gary, Ellen Wrubleski and Gary Dowell, John Wrubleski and his wife Suzanne, James Wrubleski and his wife Jocelyn, Jeffrey Marks and his fiancée Danielle Sarmir, Kenneth Libbey, Jr. and his wife Wendy, Wink Libbey and his wife Leslie, Andrew Libbey and his wife Terry, Alan Smith and his wife Joni, Scott Smith and his wife Susan, Angela Smith, Andrea Lumbra and her husband Steve; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a brother, Bennie Gifford and a sister Hillery Haskell.

FREDERICK H. GRAHAM
WAYNE, NEW JERSEY - Frederick Halcott Graham, 54, died at his home in Wayne. He was born Oct. 14, 1949, in Houlton, the son of Frederick J. and Hallie (Gilman) Graham. He lived in Wayne for the past 12 years, and was previously from Patterson. He was Superintendent for the Garden State Paper Mill in Garfield for 32 years. He loved fishing and hunting, also played golf and loved to cook. He loved his family and loved to take his grandchildren fishing in Maine School of Commerce in Bangor. He worked for many years at Bradstreet Ford Sales and later at Darlings Auto Parts. He was a 50 year member of Horeb Lodge in Lincoln. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling, having been an active member of the Snowhounds Snowmobile Club for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pearl of Lincoln, a daughter Nancy Ginn of Winterport, a son Darrell, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Lincoln, grandchildren Angela Coffin, Chad Hurd, and Holly Hurd, and two great grandchildren, Artie Archie and Michael Bushey.
Visiting will be held Saturday, Nov. 20th at 1 P.M. at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, followed by a Masonic service at 2 P.M. Please join the family at the Congregational Church in Lincoln for refreshments after intermenty at the South Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make a contribution to their favorite charity.
ERNEST E. IRELAND
Lincoln- Ernest E. Ireland, 83, died September 3, 2004, at a Howland healthcare facility. He was born in Woodville, October 8, 1920, the son of William and Annie (Chesley) Ireland. Ernest grew up in Woodville. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war he worked as a millwright at Lincoln Pulp and Paper for more than 40 years. He was an avid outdoors man, enjoying hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. He also loved watching the Red Sox.
He is survived by a brother, Robert Ireland; four sisters, Leona Murchison, Charlotte Marsh, Elsie Crabtree and Helen Murchison; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by six brothers, Charles, Walter, Roscoe, Edwin, Ralph and Nathan Ireland and a sister, Irene Gordon.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at the Woodville Cemetery with Bill Chesley officiating. There will be a gathering at Mike and Tracy Fleming's home after the service. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the Ronald McDonald House, 654 State St., Bangor, ME 04401. FRANCES DUDLEY WILLIAMS JAMESON
ENFIELD- Frances Dudley Williams Jameson died after a brief illness on September 8, 2004 at Eastern Michigan and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Frances was a dental assistant for Dr. Albert Gulesian, Jr. before attending nursing school at EMVTI in Bangor at the age of 46. She was a nurse at Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln for 17 years before retiring. She was an active member of the Enfield Elders and belonged to the First Christian Church in Vero Beach, Florida 32960.Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
HELEN "JOSIE" JONES
MEDWAY and EAST MILLINOCKET - Helen "Josie" Josephine (Thompson) Jones, age 82 years, 9 months, went home to be with the Lord to be reunited with her parents, Byron and Ruby Thompson, and others of her family, Oct. 18, 2004, at a Lincoln Hospital. Josie served as assistant superintendent of the Bible School at the East Millinocket Church of the Nazarene, where she also served as secretary-treasurer. She had a great and wonderful faith and she dearly loved the church.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Raymond Jones; sisters, Isabell and her husband, George Walsh of Hermon and Ersul Chasse of Millinocket; brothers, Byron Thompson of Bellingham, Washington; and Russell Schneider and his wife, Mindy and great-granddaughter, Sydnee of Layton, Utah; brothers-in-law, Edward Jones and his wife, Virginia of Medway and Albert Jones of Lenoir, Thompson and Celia Powers; and brothers, Ronald, Rubin, Hilton, Norman, Leslie and Nolan Thompson.

DEAN W. "CHUCKIE" KNIGHTS, JR.
LEE - Dean W. "Chuckie" Knights, Jr., 41, died Oct. 24, 2004, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born June 27, 1963, in Lincoln, the son of Patricia (Skidgell) and Dean W. Knights, Sr. Chuckie enjoyed hunting and especially fishing. He could catch a fish where no one else could. He also enjoyed drawing. He was a Veteran of the U S Army.
He is survived by his father, Dean W. Knights, Sr.; his mate for more than 20 years, Violet Burrill; three children, Jessica Burrill, Douglas Burrill and David Burrill, of Lee; two brothers, Brian Knights of Lincoln and Allen Knights of Enfield; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a son, Shane Burrill. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mattawamkeag Cemetery, with the Rev. Mitch Bickford officiating. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
