GERALD M. "GID" LEAVITT
LINCOLN - Gerald M. "Gid" Leavitt, 83, husband of the late Alice (Blood) Leavitt, passed away Jan. 1, 2008, at a Lincoln health care facility. He was born April 26, 1924, in Chester, the son of Phillip and Lucretia (Reardon) Leavitt. Gid was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart. He worked for many years as a log truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being out on his pontoon boat and baking bean-hole-beans.
He is survived by six children and their families, Larry Leavitt and Holly Coffin, Willow Leavitt and Ron Libby, Margo Goodwin, Jill Hartford and her husband, Tim, Martin Leavitt, and Sabrina Fogg; grandchildren, Lee Goodwin, Melissa Hartford, David Fogg Jr., Cassandra Pelletier and Elisha Leavitt; a sister, Rowena Trott; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. In addition to his wife of 58 years, he was predeceased by three sisters, Emma Grass, Norma Libby and Mildred Crocker; and two brothers, Otis "Pud" Leavitt and Albert Farrington.

Friends may call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. Spring intermenty will be at Lincoln Cemetery.

MARIE ALICE LEAVITT
LINCOLN - Marie Alice Leavitt, wife of the late Otis "Pud" Leavitt, passed away Aug. 30, 2008, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born April 9, 1919, in Chester, the daughter of Llewellyn and Alice (Martin) Harmon. Marie and her husband, Pud, owned and operated Leavitt's Store, Lincoln, for many years. She enjoyed canning, crocheting, knitting, visiting family and friends, playing cards and dice, and going to the casino. She enjoyed watching basketball, football and rooting for the Red Sox. She particularly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by four children, Vernard P. and his wife, Janet, of Lincoln, Joanne Clark and her husband, Ivan, of Chester, Otis Jr. and his wife, Dale, of Medway and Gregory A. and his wife, Talley, of Norridgewock; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters. Her family thanks the staff at Penobscot Valley Hospital for the excellent care she received there, especially by her granddaughter, Lisa Tomilson.

Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Keith Cushman and the Rev. Chet Dana officiating. Interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery. There will be a gathering at Maranatha Church after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the cancer fund. Donations may be left at the funeral home.

ELAINE R. LEE "MARTHA"

DANFORTH- Elaine R. Lee, 80, died Feb, 27, 2008 surrounded by her family at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Eaton, May 8, 1927 the daughter of Samuel and Charlotte (Neal) Hafford. Elaine was a CNA for 25 years at Danforth Nursing Home. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts and spending time with her family.
She is survived by four children, Terry of Danforth, Bruce and Kathy of Milford, Connie and Gordon of Brookton and Andy and Brandy of Danforth; six grandchildren, Bruce, Adam, Denny, Tracy, Crystal and Jenny; two sisters, Phyllis and Priscilla of Holden; 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Alton, who died in 1984; eight brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday at the Clay Funeral Home – Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Root officiating. Interment will be in Eaton Cemetery. A gathering will be held after the services at the Grand Lake Grange Hall.

KATHERINE A. (PELLETIER) LEET
EAST MILLINOCKET- Katherine A. (Pelletier) Leet, 57, died July 5, 2008 at a Millinocket hospital. She was born in Millinocket, March 3, 1951 the daughter of Norman and Jeannette (DeVoe) Pelletier.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her loving husband of 40 years Timothy Leet, Sr. of East Millinocket; a daughter, Sherri Barker of East Millinocket; two sons, Timothy Leet, Jr. of East Millinocket, and Kevin Leet and Nikkie Black of East Millinocket; grandchildren, Bradley Barker, Melissa Barker, Gaven and Gage Hale of East Millinocket and Bret Libby and Brianna Leet of Millinocket, Braydon Whitehead and Kevin Leet, Jr. of East Millinocket; one brother, Terry and Jeri Pelletier of Millinocket; several aunts, uncles, brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews. A real great friend, Greylen Hale.

Friends and family may gather at Sherri Barkers Home, 17 Maple St., East Millinocket, ME for a service, July 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.

PETER WILLIAM LEONARD
ENFIELD - Peter W. Leonard, 35, died Aug 27, 2008, in Bangor, after a brief illness. He was born June 9, 1973, in Lincoln, the son of William and Evelyn (McLaughlin) Leonard. Peter spent his entire life with his mother in Enfield on Cold Stream Pond. He enjoyed everything about his lake home, especially swimming and boat rides. After his school years in the Brewer Regional program. Peter attended the Ed Bouchea Center, formerly Amicus for 15 years. There he participated with his friends in many activities provided by the dedicated staff.
In addition to his mother, Evelyn, he is survived by his father, William and wife, Wanda; two sisters, Theresa Vadala and Ronald of Wakefield, NH, and Catherine Leonard of Lee, NH; two nieces, Chelsea and Nicole; grandfather, James McLaughlin of Lincoln; maternal aunts and uncles, Cindy Sereyko and David of Bangor; Carol Raye and Gary, Lisa Goodwin and Brian, Angela Stanley and Rusty, Maureen Wotton and Lindy, all of Lincoln; James McLaughlin and Andrea of Hampton, NH, Frank McLaughlin and Patimah of Oswego, NY, William McLaughlin and Stephanie of Portland, Thomas McLaughlin and Wanda, Andrew McLaughlin and Kimberly, all of Lincoln; paternal aunts and uncles, Patricia Shorey and Gib of Burlington, Marie Leonard of Bangor, Margot Leonard of Enfield, CT., Vaughn Leonard and Joan, Eugene Leonard and Frances, of Enfield, David Leonard and Roberta of Maxfield, Dennis Leonard and Renate of Lincoln ans 44 cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Ruth McLaughlin of Lincoln, and Frank and Odella Leonard of West Enfield, uncles, Joseph Leonard of Enfield CT, and Michael Leonard of Princeton. Peter was dearly loved by his surrogate father, Lawrence Bouchard of Lowell and his children, Joseph Bouchard and Jamie Fernald, Christopher Bouchard and Tracy, of West Enfield and all their children, who loved their "Uncle Pete." He also leaves behind Jim and Ruth Cambridge and daughter, Dannielle of Old Town, who provided daily, loving and caring support to Peter for seven years. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff members who worked so hard to enrich Peter’s life.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug 30, at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, Lincoln, with the Rev. Myles Cyr presiding. In lieu of flowers, please send gifts in Peter’s memory to Ed Bouchea Center, 96 Thirteenth St, Bangor, ME 04401.

F. RHODEN LIBBY
LINCOLN - F. Rhoden Libby 92, husband of the late Dorothy (Wescott) Libby, died peacefully Sept 27, 2007, in the good hands of the nice people at Penobscot Valley Hospital. He was born April 8, 1915, in Lincoln, the son of Leroy L. and Lora G. (Puffer) Libby. Rhoden retired from the Lincoln paper mill, after many years of service. He served the Methodist Church as janitor for a time. In his younger days, he loved to hunt, and was an avid fisherman, knowing the Junior Lake and Grand Lake area like the back of his hand. He liked to take rides on old back roads, and knew all of them in the State of Oregon, Scott and his wife Noelle of Harmony, Dana and his fiancé, Becky Templon of Elkton, Va., and Paula Loupin and her fiancé, Robert Ward of Blaine;, four grandchildren, David and Amanda Loupin of St. Helens, Maine, USA and graduated from Mattanawcook Academy, class of 1930. He was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Helen (Corro) of Lincoln and his son Jerome Michael of Dearborne, Maine; son Louis and daughter-in-law Katherine (Buziak) of Victoria; daughter-in-law Joy (Dudley) Lovejoy of Dearborne, Maine; Grandsons Brian and wife Annie of White Lake, Maine. He owned and operated the local IGA store in Lincoln from the late 1940's, through the early 1960's. He was active in the Lincoln Rotary Club over many of those years. Ben and Hilda moved to California, Ben and Hilda moved back east to Portland, California in 1989. Wife Hilda still resides in a retirement home in Victoria. Ben was a kind and generous person who will always be remembered as one of the last true gentleman of this age.

A memorial service was held in the Chapel/Fireplace Lounge at the Victorian Retirement Home, 1773 Feltham Road, Victoria at 2:30 o'clock on Monday the 25 of February, 2008. Rev. Michael Caveney of the Gordon Head United Church presided. The casket will then be transported to the Clay Funeral Home in Lincoln, Florida, Jean and her husband, Sheldon Currier of Lincoln; a brother Gary Lovejoy of Windsor Locks, Conn; in-laws, Sandra and Roger Nadeau of Ft. Fairfield, Glennice Zieminski, and Robert Lyons and Anne, all of Conn., and Ken Monroe of Lincoln ; a special niece, Patty Theriault; several other nieces and nephews.

A private memorial mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. October 20, 2007, at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, with the Rev. Myles Cyr presiding. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Cummings’ Healthcare Facility Activities Fund. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.

ARNOLD E. JORDAN, SR.
LINCOLN - Arnold Jordan Sr. passed away Jan. 5, 2009, at Stuart Nursing and Restorative Care Center, Stuart, Fla. Arnold was born Sept. 15, 1919, in Bangor, the son of Charles and Helen (Clay) Jordan. He spent his younger years growing up in Connecticut. He served in the Army during World War II and played the French horn in the Armed Forces Band. He lived in Lincoln for more than 40 years and owned Jordan's Memorial Shop. Arnold was a member of the Lions Club and Lincoln Rotary Club. He enjoyed summers at The Narrows, golf, snowmobiling, bowling and especially his music. He sang in the choir at the congregational church in Lincoln, and later upon moving to Stuart, Fla., joined the town's concert band. Arnold also served the state of N.H.; daughter-in-law, Pat Jordan of Stuart, Fla.; and son-in-law, James McLaughlin of Hampton, Oregon, Jeremy Raye Gilmore of Colorado, Michelle and Stephanie Tilton and Breeanna Leighton, all of Lincoln. Additionally, Myra is survived by her "big" brother, Bryan Tilton and Marguerite of Lincoln; sister, Cindy Williams and John of Alton; "little" brother, Bruce Jr. and Amanda Tilton of Lincoln; one grandson, Jaydon Blair; several nieces and one nephew; her bus students, and several friends from Cormier's, Florida; three great grandchildren, Jonathan and Nicole MacLaughlin of Mariaville and Troy MacLaughlin of Ellsworth. William graduated from the University of Arizona and White River Junction, Vermont and at East Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth. Earlier in his life he worked as a civil engineer, owned and operated a poultry farm and a dairy farm. He enjoyed traveling, read widely, fished and was an avid gardener.

Special thanks to the ladies at Care Ridge Estates who have provided excellent care and a loving home for Mac these past two years.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Brewer. Those who wish may donate to a charity of ones choice in memory of Mac. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
