DANFORTH JOSEPH MICHAUD, SR.
West Enfield - Danforth Joseph Michaud, Sr., 71, husband of the late Elsie (DeLong) Michaud passed away suddenly, June 15, 2008, at a Lincoln hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 5, 1936, in Wallagrass, the son of the late Rella (Saucier) Michaud Chesley and Samuel Michaud, Sr. Danforth was an avid woodsman for many years prior to retiring from Forster’s Manufacturing in Mattawamkeag. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by six children, Dennis and Karen Michaud, of Winn, Donna Michaud and Ron Birtz, of Springfield, LouAnne and Mike LaFountain, of Lee, Laura and Leo Mushero, of West Enfield, Andrew Michaud, Sr. and Joyce Houle, of Howland and George Michaud and Stephanie Beesley, of West Enfield; his children’s mother and his friend, Arlene Deschene; two step children, Lewis Audibert and Ruth Audibert, both of Maxfield; six siblings, Cecilia and Sonny Murphy, of Millinocket, Pauline Bowers of Waterville, Beatrice and Sonny Preston, of Wytopitlock, Samuel Michaud, Jr., of Medford, Linda and George Kimball, of Woodville and Diane and Lewis Beach, of Topsfield; step-brothers, Carey and Linda Chesley, Orin and Sheila Chesley, Clifton Chesley and Arthur and Sally Chesley; step-sister, Amy and William Lee; 19 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, and his wife, Elsie, he was predeceased by his step-father, William Chesley, a son, Danforth Michaud, Jr., a grandson, Andrew Michaud, Jr and a brother-in-law, Linwood Bowers, Sr.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 19, at St. Matthew Cemetery, West Enfield, with the Rev. Myles Cyr officiating. There will be a gathering at the American Legion Hall, Lincoln, following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help with funeral expenses. GALE E. MILLER
ORONO–Gale E. Miller, 69, went to be with the Lord November 12, 2007 at Orono Commons after a long illness. He was born in Houlton, June 8, 1938, the son of LeRoy and Luella (Foster ) Miller. Gale’s passion was playing country music, which he did for 28 years, playing from Florida. His last band was "The Good Ole Boys". Gale was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his wife of 35 years, Shirley (McNally) Miller, he is survived by two daughters, Margo Miller, her husband, Philip Stout, grandchildren, Stephanie and Jordan of Parker of Old Town; stepson, Richard Carr of Florida, and Nancy and her husband, Thomas Osborn of Howland. Shirley is also survived by seven grandchildren that she absolutely adored; Aric and Justin Gray, Mark Osborn and his fiancee, Amanda Drost, Jessica (Osborn) Wallace and her husband, Darin, Jeremy Milton, Matthew Osborn and Sara, and Jamie Milton; a great-granddaughter, Ciyera Marie Wallace, who Shirley referred to as "Great Grammies’s Precious;" two brothers, Gerald and his wife Kathy, and Delmont; six sisters, Eva Bickford, Doris Robinson and her husband, Joseph, Marilyn Terrio, Charlotte Georgio, Irene Webber and Celia Bard and her husband, Richard; many nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by a son, Paul Mark; three brothers, Harold, Robert and Albert; and two sisters, Rose and Melvina. The family would like to thank Community Health and Counseling, Hospice Services, Aaron and Rhonda for the care Shirley received.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Community Health and Counseling Services, Hospice Program, P O Box 425, Bangor ME 04402-0425.
STEWART C. MOODY
LINCOLN AND SAN DIEGO - Stewart C. Moody died Dec. 12, 2007 at his home in Lincoln. He was born in Lincoln, Maine for 23 years. Stewart will be remembered for his good sense of humor, story telling and his ability to finish the NY Times Sunday crossword puzzle. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Maine.
Hazle was born on May 12, 1914 in Springfield, California two summer~ filming reels that were shown overseas. Hazle and Helen Laing are shown in the newsreel coming down the slide.
Hazle was educated in Springfield and Lincoln schools. In her later years, at Butler, PA to a Western Auto School. She also took a graduate course in Resort Management. Her hobbies were designing clothes and hats for the family that she sewed on a Singer treadle sewing machine. She was famous for her pastries, fried clams, beach favorite. Hazle married Gordon H. Austin, from Haverhill, MA in 1933. He was employed as ,a life guard at Morgan's Beach. From that marriage, a daughter, Marion Morgan Morrison was born.
Hazle had Holiday Lane in Enfield constructed in 1950. Many year-round homes are established there today. She then married Lewis G. Morrison in 1955. They moved from Lincoln and opened a Western Auto Store in Guilford, with John and Marion Morrison.
Hazle was an avid hunter and loved to fish. She was a member of Professional Women's Club of Piscataquis County and Guilford Bowling League. She enjoyed many happy times in Mayfield and at Shin and Cold Stream Ponds. She also spent time in Maine and that team allowed her to maintain her dignity and independence throughout her illness, by smoothing the path with tender loving care for her journeys end. She felt the kindness of her special caregivers and volunteers. Their professionalism made her and her family's life easier. We extend heartfelt thanks to each and everyone of them.
Our family chain is broken now, but part of us goes with her. We won't be able to see her, but she will be with us. We will feel her kiss in the gentle wind, the rain drops in our tears. The sunlight will be our happiness, when we see birds, it will remind us that she was the wind beneath our wings. She will not be out of mind just because she is out of sight. All will be well and nothing is lost. In a brief time of space, we will all be together again.
Hazle was the last blood sister to her birth family of Alice, Minnie, Clara, Luther, Donald, Althea, Vergie, Eunice and Fred. She is survived by her daughter, Marion Morrison and devoted friend, Harley Arthers, who were her primary care givers for years. Her devoted grandchildren are Lewis J. Morrison and Helen Beaudey, Richard H. Morrison, of Guilford, ME, James M. Morrison of Wells, ME and Nina Thornton and her husband, Dennis Thornton of Berwick, ,ME; beloved great-grandchildren are Lewis M.J. Morrison and wife Amy of Hermon, Laurie Morrison of Monson, ME, James Morrison and wife Jamie of Guilford, ME, Jessica Thurlow and husband Mike of Auburn, ME, John Bjork and Amanda of Berwick, ME, Morgan Morrison of Brownville, ME and George Thornton of Berwick, ME.
Great-great grandchildren are Jayden Morrison of Guilford, Ayden and Arianna Thurlow of Auburn, Braydan Reier of Monson and Raegan Bjork of Berwick, Hazle is survived by special nieces and nephews and numerous special friends, two previous granddaughters in law, Anita and Valerie, who visited her several times offering love and encouragement during her illness.
She held me at my birth and welcomed me to earth and the blessing was returned as I held her in my arms as her spirit returned to God.
Per her request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral. A family memorial and remembrance Hazle’s honor will take place in the summer months.

FLOYD EUGENE MUNCEY, SR.
DANFORTH - Floyd E. Muncey Sr. died Aug. 25, 2008, at a Houlton nursing home. He was born Feb. 12, 1922, in Danforth, son of Eugene W. and Marian Elizabeth (Kinney) Muncey. Floyd enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by five children, Vina Walden and her husband, Hugh, of Slidell, La., Marie Lowe and her husband, Glenn, of Bangor, Floyd E. Muncey Jr. of Houlton, Leo Muncey and his wife, Belinda, and Bert Muncey, all of Danforth; two sisters, Constance McEwen and Diana Lowe, both of Danforth; 19 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, seven sisters; and a daughter-in-law, Carol Muncey.
Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce McEwen officiating. Burial will be private.
EVERETT L. MURCHISON
LINCOLN and ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. - Everett Levi Murchison, 84, husband of Joyce Murchison, passed away Sept. 17, 2008, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born June 8, 1924, in Lee, the son of Levi and Beatrice (Hanscom) Murchison. Everett was a 1942 graduate of Lee Academy. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He worked for Ford Motor Co., for 41 years, retiring in 1991. Everett was an active hunter, fisherman and a basketball referee in his younger days. He was an avid golfer and an avid Red Sox fan. He attended Lincoln Congregational Church for the past 10 years.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Kathryn (Whalen) Murchison; three brothers, Larry, Kenneth and Clifton; and a stepgrandson, Thomas Preble. In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by three sons and their wives, Robert "Bick" and Sue, Roger "Tim" and Dottie, and Ronald and Rhonda, all of Lincoln; four stepchildren, Suzanne and Orland Shorey of Burlington, Thomas Preble and Angela of Northport, Peter Preble of South Portland and Ellen and Ralph Thurlow of Lowell; grandchildren, Jennifer Cousins, Bick Murchison, Jason Murchison, Timmy Murchison, Devin Lanahan, Morgan Leighton, Katie Sereyko and Chad Thornton, stepgrandchildren, Rachel Kilby, Amy and Jennifer Shorey, Emily Callahan and Leigh Thurlow; three sisters, Irene Barbour of Fayetteville, N.C., Edie Wilson of Roanoke, Va., and Vivian Crocker of Trurnbull, Conn.; 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lee. FRANCIS M. 'FRANK' MURDO
MATTAWAMKEAG - Francis M. 'Frank' Murdo, 79, husband of Lillian (Day) Murdo, passed away Sept. 1, 2008, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born Dec. 17, 1928, in North Berwick, the son of Franklin and Lila (Pierce) Murdo. Frank loved to whittle and to cut wood. He enjoyed making crafts, and taking care of his family.
In addition to his wife, Lillian, he is survived by seven children, Timothy Norman of Mattawamkeag, Howard Michaud of Buxton, Florence Michaud of Kezar Falls, Karan Norman of Biddeford, Dawna Bubar of Prentiss, Stephen Michaud of Biddeford and Patti Bubar of Webster, Plt.; a sister, Dorothy LaPoint of New Durham, N.Y.; as well as many other nieces, nephews and special friends too numerous to mention.
Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Tops-field Congregational Church. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Ellen Beairsto officiating. Interment will be at the Noyes Family Cemetery, Topsfield. A gathering will be held immediately after the committal service at Mrs. Noyes' home. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial contribution to the maintenance fund of Topsfield Congregational Church, in care of Emma Irish, 216 North Road, Topsfield, ME 04490.
CALVIN G. OGDEN
Lee - Calvin G. Ogden, 79, husband of Gloria (Cole) Ogden, died November 9, 2007, at his home on Silver Lake. He was born March 18, 1928, in Lee, the son of Lemuel and Rose (Nelson) Ogden. Calvin enjoyed riding his four wheeler and living on Silver Lake. He was known throughout the community for his kind heart and helping those who were in need. He also enjoyed being involved with the Lee Volunteer Fire Dept.
In addition to his wife, Gloria, of Lee, he is survived by a brother, Myron, of Green bush; several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his longtime friend, Cliffy Kneeland. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Lloyd.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lee, with the Rev. Vince Hartford officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Lee Volunteer Fire Dept. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln.
BIRCHUM ALLEN OLDENBURGH
Birchum Allen "Rusty" Oldenburgh, 84, of Lincoln, died Sunday, August 12, 2007. Rusty was born May 22, 1923 in Garland, North Carolina; Daniel Oldenburgh and Virginia Soucy of Brewer; Rick Oldenburgh and Mary Schmidt of Albuquerque, NM; James Oldenburgh and Wendi Ireland of Lincoln; Paul Oldenburgh of Houston, TX; daughter, Melissa Oldenburgh of Clarksville, IN; fifteen grandchildren: Dina; Dawn Marie; Billy; Jana; John; Phillip; Kayla; Thomas; Jana; Jessie; Jeremy; Inger; Ashleigh; Kristie; and Nikki; a brother-in-law, James Harris; a sister-in-law, Birgit Harris; six great grandchildren; special friends: Darrell Savage and Brenda Hobbs; and numerous other friends.
Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Littlefield officiating. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery.
