PAULINE H. POND
WEST ENFIELD - Pauline H. Pond, 82 went home to be with her Lord on July 21, 2008 after a short illness. She was born March 16, 1926, in West Enfield, the daughter of Uneeta & Edgar Hanson, Sr, and was raised by the much loved Tom and Stella Hodston. She was a member of the Howland Baptist Church for many years. She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice S. Pond, her oldest son Douglas S. Pond., Sr., a grandson Jeremy Pond, brothers Linwood Hanson, Ervin Hanson and a sister Greta Levesque.
She is survived by two sons Roger Pond of West Enfield, Stuart Pond of Lincoln a brother Edgar Hanson, Jr. of West Enfield, half-brother Raymond Hanson of Van Buren, and half sister, Evelyn of Van Buren; also, five grandchildren, Douglas Jr., Bethellen, Jennifer, Jason, Hollyrae and four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Alan Porter officiating. Interment will be in West Enfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cancer Care of Maine Medical Center, in memory of her husband Maurice and her son Douglas S. ELWOOD OAKLEY PORTER
LINCOLN and HOWLAND - In the morning hours of Nov. 6, 2008, Elwood Oakley Porter, 87, took his final horse ride. On the wings of Pegasus he rode into the arms of Jesus from Cummings Health Care Facility, Howland. He was born Feb. 8, 1921, in Lowell, the son of Clarence and Althea Porter. His childlike ways and love of animals won the hearts of most everyone he met. For the most part, he had a hard life working in the woods with his papa and brothers, yarding wood with horses and chopping wood with an axe. He loved horses, "pups" and fishing, and in his younger years could frequently be seen fishing on the banks of Mattanawcook Lake. He loved music and bingo, and won often at Cummings. His favorite TV show was the Dukes of Hazzard.
He is survived by two sisters, Leola Curtis of Lincoln and Lenora Severance of Guilford, Conn.; his favorite niece, Adria; special nephew and niece, Clarence and Anne Cummings; two sisters-in-law, Axie Porter and Doris Porter; several nieces and nephews; and his extended family, the staff and residents of Cummings Healthcare Assisted Living. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers, Roy, Clinton, George, Willard and Page; and two sisters, Annie and Leona. A special thanks to Cummings nursing staff, Dr. Dumont and Dr. Metzler, while Elwood spent the last 10 years of his life at Cummings Assisted Living.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at Lowell Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Littlefield officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the activity fund at Cummings Healthcare Assisted Living or to a charity of choice. CAMILLE "BOB" PORTO
BROOKTON and BARING Camille "Bob" Porto, 82, died Aug. 12, 2008, at a Calais hospital. He was born July 4, 1926, in Hamden, Conn., the son of James and Concetta (Burro) Porto.
He is survived by his wife, Jahala (Hall) Porto of Baring; two sons, Joseph J. Porto of Las Vegas and Robert J. Porto of Pasadena, Md.; a grandson, Anthony J. Porto of Pasadena, Md.; a brother and a sister.
Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Saturday at Clay Funeral Home- Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. FLORENCE "ANN" POWERS
BREWER- Florence "Ann" Powers, 53, died September 21, 2008 at a Bangor hospital. She was born December 17, 1954 in Lincoln the daughter of the late Clifford Johnson and Delores (Nadeau) Chamberlain. Ann enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She loved to e-mail, going out to eat, and being outside and sitting in the sun. She liked her outings to the Dollar Store and Edge Video, and loved the actor Richard Gere.
In addition to her mother, Delores she is survived by her children, Ephraim "Skip" Ryder, III and Darcie McCormick of Bradley, Danielle Tellier of Brewer and Christopher and Stephanie Powers of Bangor; six grandchildren, Brandon and Drew Ryder, Zackery and Rylee Tellier and Harlee and Logan Powers; two sisters, Kathy Wheaton and her husband Bruce of Hermon, Tammy Crepeau and her husband Gary of Bangor; one brother, Craig Chamberlain and his wife Karla of Dover, Ohio Street, Bangor, ME, beginning at Noon. ROLLIE A. POWERS
Chester - Rollie A. Powers, 58, died November 14, 2007, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born September 13, 1949, in Lincoln. Rollie loved hunting and fishing. He worked at the mill in Lincoln.
In addition to his mother, Charlotte Mailman, of Lincoln, he is survived by a brother, Lawrence E. Powers of Maine Marine Corp League 976 where he co-ordinated Toys for Tots for 8 years.
Spike is survived by his very special wife of 17 years, Gwendolyn "Dolly" Richards; children, Jeanne Noonan and her husband Bob, Jeff and his wife Linda, Joel and his wife Michelle, Jerry and his wife Donna, Matthew and his wife Michelle, Lorna Tilton, Tammi Tilton and her life friend Joe Frenette, Robert and Stephanie Dundas, and Denise and Jeff Day. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Michael Daniel, Zachary, Jazmin, Jodi, Taylor, Chandler, Justin, Jessi Rae, Bayleigh, Brittany, Demi, Tori, Bryce, Avari and Savanna; siblings, Johnny Richards and his wife Denise, Dolly Coon, Don Richards and his wife Sharon, Dale Marie Naakins and her husband Jimmy. He was predeceased by his parents, a wife, Sandra (Cahill) Richards, a son, Frederick, a brother, Harold, three sisters, Jeanette, Priscilla, and Evelyn"Tootie." He will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends and a special brother-in-law, Leon Markie.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Mattawamkeag Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 3 p .m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Steve McNally officiating. RICHARD K. ROBERTSON
MATTWAMKEAG–Richard K. Robertson, 74, husband of the late Elinor (Curtis) Robertson, died November 4, 2007 at a Lincoln hospital. He was born in Clinton, June 14, 1933, the son of Charles and Phyllis (Lewis) Robertson. Richard was raised on a farm in Exeter, served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, loved to hunt and fish, go for rides, and spend time with his family.
Richard is survived by three children, Robbie Robertson of Portland, Phyllis Spencer and Brent of Mattawamkeag, and Curtis Robertson and Shannon of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Sydney and Connor; one sister, Alice Baker; one brother, James Robertson, both of Brewer; several nieces and nephews; and a very special person in his life, Phyllis Vicaire. In addition to his parents and his wife, Richard was predeceased by a son, Richard, Jr.

NORA E. ROSS
WEST ENFIELD - Nora E. Ross, 97 years & 11 months, passed away Feb. 10, 2008, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born March 15, 1910, in Milo, the daughter of Fred and Maude (Perrigo) Smart. She was married to the late Leo Ross, and they moved to West Enfield in 1954. She loved to go fishing and hunting with her husband, Leo. She loved to do macrame, crochet, knit and plastic canvas.
She is survived by several nieces. She also leaves good friends, Jane Nash, and Carmen and Renaud Castonguay. In addition to her husband, Leo, she was predeceased by one sister, a nephew, and her good cleaning lady, Noellyne Pinet.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Hyland officiating. Spring intermenty will be in West Enfield Cemetery.
VELMA B. ROSS
LINCOLN–Velma B. Ross, 94, wife of the late Charles Albert Ross, died Nov. 2, 2007, at a Lincoln healthcare facility. Born May 19, 1913 in Topsfield, she was the daughter of Clementine (Bailey) Mitchell. Velma was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years, and had a career as a waitress. She enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a regular patron at Daggett’s Lunch Counter in Topsfield, and her extensive hat collection includes hats from all over.
Velma is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lorraine Bailey of Topsfield; grandchildren, Nancy Burrill, Christine Gendreau and Leo, all of Lincoln, John "Nick" Bailey and Jill of Mars Hill, Patricia Thibodeau and Barry of Millinocket; great-granddaughter, Shandra Haskell and Lee of Lincoln; great-great-grandchildren, Katrina and Shane Haskell of Lincoln; a stepdaughter-in-law, Josephine Ross and her family of Hampden. In addition to her husband and her mother, she was predeceased by a son, a sister, and a stepson.

KATHY I. SALVA
Lincoln - Kathy I. Salva, 49, died May 22, 2008 at a Bangor Hospital. She was born Feb. 4, 1959 in Millville N.J. the daughter of George and Nellie Salva.
Kathy enjoyed her family, friends, fishing, and online poker. She is survived by 3 sons Joseph Tomlinson III and Josh Tomlinson both of Lincoln and Jeff Tomlinson of Millville, N.J.; companion Frederick McLaughlin Jr. Of Lincoln; 4 sisters Barbara Salva, Toni Coogan and husband Mike, Patti Cox and husband Fred of Millville, N.J., Nancy Dutton and husband Richard of Lincoln; several nieces and nephews. Kathy was predeceased by her parents and brothers Jack and Gary Salva.
A visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday May 29 at Clay Funeral Home 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. In lieu of flowers friends may make donations to the family to help with funeral expenses.
BEVERLY ANN SANBORN
Green bush - Beverly Ann Sanborn, 62, wife of Garry Sanborn, died July 10, 2008, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born February 17, 1946, in Bangor, the daughter of Reynold Jackson, Sr. and C. Joan (Doane) Jackson.
In addition to her husband, Garry, of Green bush, she is survived by two children, Michelle and Travis Sanborn, both of Green bush; four grandchildren, Ashley Davis and Garrytte Davis both of Old Town, Lokotah Sanborn, of Green bush and Danielle Sanborn, of Bangor; five brothers; one sister. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved sister-in-law, Patty Jackson.

LINWOOD LLOYD SEVERANCE, SR.
LINCOLN– Linwood Lloyd Severance, Sr., 73, died August 25, 2007 at his home in Lincoln. He was born in Springfield, January 12, 1934, the son of Solomon George and Cassie (Glidden) Severance. Linwood was employed at Lincoln Pulp & Paper for 42 years, and he loved to be outside, whether it was hunting at his camp in Springfield, fishing, working in the woods, or exercising his green thumb on his flower gardens. He especially loved spending time on Egg Pond with his children and grandchildren. His family will always remember the good times on the 4th of July and the lobster feed.
Linwood is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Barnes (Kennedy) Severance of Lincoln; children, Phyllisann Arthurs and Jerry of T1R4, Wayne Severance of Lincoln, Linwood Severance Jr. and Bonnie of Springfield, Patricia Champney and Thomas of Brooksville, FL, Cara Sinclair and Alan, Gina Spaulding and Mark, Shauna Littlefield and Jeremie, all of Lincoln, Holli Thibodeau and Jim of Winn; grandchildren, Linwood Severance, III and Heather Burleigh, Danny Severance, Christopher and Joshua Sinclair, Aaron, Jason, and Bethany Severance, Renata and Mark Spaulding, Katlyn and Devin Littlefield, Damien and Jeremy Arthurs, Nicole and Nicholas Champney, J.J., Chelsey, and Matthew; sister, Lee Lowe and Red; good friend of many years, Cliff Kneeland; and family friend, Darlene Predham. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters and one brother.

FRANK WOODBURY SHAW
LEE - Frank Woodbury Shaw, 77, passed away Jan. 20, 2008, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born Nov 21, 1930, in Hersey, the son of Solomon and Ressie (Botting) Shaw. At age 15, Frank went to work as a cookee in a woods camp. He later worked on the river drive and at a saw mill. He did well as a trapper, and worked many years on a farm. He then went back to logging, and was severely injured in a logging accident. He was a woodsman at heart, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by six children, Beverly Blanchard of Strong, Solomon Shaw of Hersey, Ronald Shaw of Lagrange, Dean Shaw of Hersey, Suzanne Smith of Jay and Hazen Shaw of Lee; a sister, Doris Shaw of Patten; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at Hersey Cemetery. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
