Bernadette Hubert
Bernadette Hubert, 101, of Graham Street, died Aug. 8 at Southern Maine Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 8, 1941 in Charteville, Quebec, Canada, a son of Onil and Irma Charest Duquette, and was educated in Canada.
On Aug. 21, 1965, he married Jacqueline Drolet at Sacred Heart Church in Auburn. Shed died March 16.
He worked in textile mills in Auburn and for more than 20 years at Biddeford Textile, retiring in 1996.
Surviving are one son, Guy Duquette and his wife Raelyn of Dayton; one daughter, Lisa Vadnais and her husband Danny of Biddeford; four brothers, Denis Duquette and his wife Francoise of Charteville, Quebec, Yvon Duquette and his wife Gilmay of Naples, Roland Duquette and his wife Simonne of Vale, N.C. and Noel Duquette and his wife Suzanne of Sherbrooke, Quebec; two sisters, Francine Duquette of Sherbrooke and Lise Beauvais of Rock Forest, Quebec; and five grandchildren.
Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, 04005.
Madeleine Beaudoin
Madeleine P. Beaudoin, 62, of Biddeford, died Aug. 8 at her home.
She was born Jan. 6, 1944 in Biddeford, a daughter of Lionel J. and Jeannette P. Goulet St. Ours, and graduated from St. Andre’s High School and Gray’s Business College in Portland .
On Oct. 2, 1965, she married Bernard Beaudoin at St. Andre’s Church.
She worked for a few years at a local finance company, then spent 10 years as a bookkeeper for the Trade Center. She last worked for Port Bistro in Kennebunkport.
A brother, Raymond St. Ours, died in April 1961.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Bernard Beaudoin of Biddeford; one daughter, Prudence B. Hooper of Biddeford; one son, William J. Beaudoin and his wife Jennifer of Kennebunkport; her father of Biddeford; one sister, Diane Lamontagne of Ponce Inlet, Fla.; and one granddaughter, Samantha Hooper of Biddeford.

Robert Ladderbush
Robert L. Ladderbush, 68, of Biddeford, died Aug. 8 at his home following a long illness with cancer.
He was born in Biddeford on June 3, 1938, son of Lester E. and Albertine Lizotte Ladderbush, and was educated in Biddeford schools, graduating from St. Louis High School in the class of 1957.
On Sept. 26, 1959 he married Joyce A. Deinstadt at St. Mary’s Church in Biddeford.
He worked for 25 years at Mike’s Market on Harrison Avenue in Biddeford. He also worked at Pratt and Whitney in North Berwick and Thornton Academy in Saco until his retirement in 2000. He had been working at MacArthur Library at the time of his death.
He was a member of the St. Louis Alumni Association and a yearly volunteer for La Kermesse. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and served 18 years as a Biddeford Police Commissioner.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Joyce Ladderbush of Biddeford; one son, David Ladderbush of Poland; one daughter, Lori Ladderbush of Biddeford; two sisters, Lorraine Carrier and her husband Raymond of Saco and Aline Afthim and her husband Donald of Westbrook; two grandchildren, Danny Ladderbush of Poland and Matthew Ladderbush of Biddeford; and one niece and two nephews.

Jane Croteau
Jane Alice Croteau, 62, of Biddeford, died Aug. 8 at Southern Connecticut and was a nurse’s aide, returning here in 1995.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church.
Surviving are several cousins.

Lillian N. Garabedian
Lillian N. Garabedian, 85, of Ocean Park, died peacefully with her husband by her side on Friday, August 11, 2006, at Evergreen Manor in Saco. She was born in Quinehoag, CT on November 29, 1920 the daughter of Peter and Eva Canaloupolous Nicholopoulos and was educated in Webster, MA schools graduating from Bartlett High School in 1938. She moved to Providence, R.I. in 1941 where she resided until 1954.
On August 31, 1941 she married Nestor Garabedian in Webster, Mass. While in Providence she worked for three years for Watkins Mfg. of Providence. In 1954 she moved to Newport, R.I. where she resided until 1983. While in Newport she worked for 30 years as Loan Officer for Newport National Bank retiring in 1982. She moved to Ocean Park, Texas, one brother: John Nicholopoulos of Webster, Mass.

Visiting hours will be 6:30 – 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hope Memorial Chapel. 480 Elm Street, Biddeford. A Funeral Service was celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Saco. Burial took place in St. Demetrios Cemetery in Biddeford. Donations in Lillian’s memory may be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church or Cemetery or to Evergreen Manor, 328 North Street, Saco, Maine Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born April 23, 1908 in Biddeford one of eight children of Noé and Adelia Hebert Paquette. She was educated and graduated from St. Andre’s School and attended Biddeford High School.
On July 1, 1929 she married Ovila “Chester” Morel at St. Andre’s Church. She worked many years at Kesslen Shoe in Kennebunk. As a young woman she had been active in the Democratic party. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church.
Aurore was considered a role model by her family. Her love of God and family inspired many. Her favorite pastimes included reading, search-a-word, talking books (as her eyesight failed) and playing “gizoote”.
She will be remembered for her “joie de vivre”, her quick wit and her ability to recount interesting tales.
She was pre-deceased by a daughter Aline in 1938, Ovila, her husband of 73 years in 2003, and by five brothers: Hervé, Paul, Laurier, André, and René Paquette and two sisters Lionelle Lacroix and Blanche Woodman.
Surviving are: three daughters, Claudette Levesque and her husband Marcel of Biddeford, Claire Marie Leclair of Los Gatos, Maine 04005. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Joseph Church Restoration or to St. James School.
Malcolm Pierson
Malcolm H. “Mac” Pierson, age 81, formerly of Middle St, Saco died early Saturday morning at the Partners in Caregiving in Biddeford. He was born in Rockland, April 25, 1925 the son of Frank H. and Mildred Hurd Pierson.
Mac graduated from St. George High School and served in the United States Army during WW2 and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, Malcolm attended the University of Massachusetts. In Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.
He was born on November 9, 1934 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Mr. Crockan was employed by Vermont, James Sullivan and his wife Maria of Boston, Mass., one daughter – Linda Walsh and her husband Tom of Saco, one sister – Carol Neal of Dorchester, Mass.,11 grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew. Arrangements were by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
Richard B. Duhamel
Richard B. Duhamel, age 52, of Green acre Road, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at Texas and Tucson, Maine.
He was a member of St. Margaret’s Parish. Richard was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed playing pool, watching NASCAR races on television as well as being a Red Sox fan. He enjoyed spending time walking his dog “Max”.
He is survived by his mother, of Old Orchard Beach; three sisters, Mrs. Eduard (Donna A.) Kurlanska; Jane C. Duhamel; and Susan E. Kimball all of Saco; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from7-9 p.m., Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Old Orchard Beach Funeral Home, 36 Portland Avenue, Old Orchard Beach. A graveside service was held with Military Honors at 11:45 a.m, Saturday, August 19, 2006, at the family lot in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
