Elizabeth H. Calliendo
NORTH HAMPTON - Elizabeth H. "Betty" Calliendo, 78, of 16 Hobbs Road, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Born May 14, 1921, in Boston, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Mary E. (Cullinane) Johnson. She graduated from Jamaica Plain (Mass.) High School in 1939. She moved to North Hampton in 1984 from Boston.
She worked as a bookkeeper for the John Hancock Insurance Co. for several years and later as a medical typist for New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.
She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church, Rye Beach, where she was a member of the craft group. She was also a member of the Ladies Union of the United Church of Christ and the Hampton Senior Citizens; and was a former volunteer for RSVP, New England Baptist Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
She was the wife of the late George A. Calliendo, who died in 1994.
Survivors include a sister, Ethel DeSantis Szymanski, of Hanover, Mass.; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Joseph M. Barry, in 1966; and by two brothers, Albert Smith and Donald Smith.
Mary T. Dickson
MILTON, N.H. - Mary T. Dickson, 90, of 17 Silver St., died Thursday, July 15, 1999, at Kirkwood Corners Home in Lee after a period of failing health.
Born Aug. 9, 1908, in Petersburg, Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Hannah (Tuck) Timmins. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1929 with her bachelor's degree in education.
For many years, she taught at Nute High School.
She was a member of the New Hampshire Retired Teachers Association and the Milton Community Church.
She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, gardening and spending time with her family.
She was the wife of the late Franklin B. Dickson, who died in 1969.
Survivors include a son, Ernest F. Dickson of South Berwick; a daughter, Mary D. Allen of West Lebanon, Maine; four grandchildren, Chris Allen of Milton, Jill Farwell of Berwick, Kate Dickson of Nashua, N.H., and Tyler Dickson of South Berwick; one great-grandchild, Justin Farwell of Berwick; and two nephews and a niece.
Alfred Zych
ZYCH - Alfred A. Zych Sr., 73, of Grant Road, Newmarket, died March 8, 1999, in Dothan, Ala., after a short period of illness. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 23, 1999, in Riverside Cemetery, Newmarket. Joseph Schanda, chaplain of the Robert G. Durgin A.L. Post No. 67 of Newmarket, will officiate. Lieselotte Watson
ROCHESTER - Lieselotte Watson, 66, of 36 Howard Brook Drive, died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, at her residence after a short period of illness.
Born June 18, 1933, in Regensburg, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Karolinia (Mueller) Baumer.
Survivors include a son, Siegfried Watson of Rochester; a brother, Josef Baumer of Regensburg, Germany; and a sister, Karolinia Guptill of Winthrop, Minn.
Donald A. Ring
HAMPTON - The funeral for Donald A. Ring, 86, of 3 Pawnee St., was held Wednesday at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Kenneth G. Lawrence, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hampton Falls, officiated. Masonic services were also conducted by St. James Lodge No. 102 F.& A.M., with 20 members in attendance. Cremation was in the Phoenix Crematory, with the committal service conducted Thursday in High Street Cemetery. The U.S. flag was presented to his widow, Olive M. (Wood) Langley Ring.
Dorothy E. Gherson
YORK - Dorothy E. Gherson, 76, of 155 York St. No. 55, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at York Hospital.
Born June 15, 1923, in Providence, she was the daughter of Gertrude (Lindgren) Taylor of Kittery and Henry M. Taylor. In 1994, 56 years after dropping out of high school, she became the oldest graduate at the time of the Kittery adult education program.
A certified home health aide, she had also worked for a shoe shop, at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard during World War II and as an office worker.
She enjoyed traveling, reading and learning new things. She loved to make items and give them to family and friends, especially grandchildren.
She was the wife of James R. Gherson.
In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include two sons, Ray Cherson of Kittery, and Larry Sears and his wife, Tammy, of Eliot; a daughter, Connie Moulton and her husband, Elroy, of Kittery; two brothers, James Taylor and Donald Taylor, both of Kittery; two sisters, Eleanor Davis and Virginia Goodwin, both of York; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Lenny and Maynard Taylor.
Robert F. Hefler
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Robert F. Hefler, 74, formerly of Portsmouth, died Monday, July 19, 1999, in Villa Springfield.
Born Oct. 14, 1924, in Peel, Carleton County, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late David L. and Flora (Goodine) Hefler. He attended schools in Frederickton, New Brunswick. In 1945, he came to the United States and lived with his uncle in Kittery. In 1996, he moved to Springfield.
During World War II, he enlisted in the Canadian army and was wounded in the European Theater.
Before retiring in 1992, he worked as a bank courier at Amoskeag Bank.
He was a member of St. John's Lodge No. 1 F & AM of Portsmouth, Bektash Temple AAONMS of Concord, Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Nashua, Lodge Council Chapter Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Portsmouth-Dover, and Portsmouth Shrine Club. He was and a former member of the Shrine Color Guard and American Legion Post No. 8 of Dover.
He was a life member and past patron of Tide Mill Chapter No. 67 Order of the Eastern Star, and served the Grand Chapter of New Hampshire as worthy grand patron from 1976 to 1977.
In Springfield, he was a member of Elderly United and the Golden Life, and a volunteer at the Mercy Medical Center gift shop. He was also an avid fisherman.
He was the husband of Phyllis (Stickney) Hefler and of the late Phyllis (Spicer) Hefler.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and John Keeran of Springfield; two grandsons, Phillip Keeran and his wife, Jennifer, and Stephen Keeran; a twin brother, David, and his wife, Geralda, of St. John, New Brunswick; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, Billy.

Doris Kalter
HALLENDALE, Fla. - Doris Kalter, 92, of died Monday, July 19, 1999, at Aventura Medical Center, in Aventura, Fla.
Born in Philadelphia, she lived in Hopewell Junction, N.Y., for 40 years and in Hallendale for 10 years.
A homemaker, she was active with the United Jewish Appeal of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
She was the wife of the late Murray Kalter, who died in 1989.
Survivors include two daughters, Eileen Roberts of York, and Roberta Allen of Aspen, Colo.; a sister, Ethel Kaplan of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Edward V. Rinalducci
ORLANDO, Fla. - Edward V. Rinalducci, 92, of 8538 Amber Oak Drive, died Friday, July 9, 1999, at the Winter Park Hospital, Winter Park, Fla.
Born Dec. 10, 1906, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late James and Michelina (Carfano) Rinalducci. He was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, the University of New Hampshire, and the University of Miami Law School. For many years, he lived in Manchester before moving to Orlando in 1987.
He was an attorney and parimutuel manager for Rockingham Race Park in Salem, N.H., for many years.
He was the husband of Corinne (Hogan) Rinalducci for 64 years.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Edward J. Rinalducci Sr., and his wife, Anne, of Orlando; three grandchildren, Susan Allen of Hickory, N.C., Ned Rinalducci, of Atlanta, and Jennifer Rinalducci of Orlando; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Lee Nutter of Portsmouth; and several nieces and nephews.
Fred A. Grandy
PORTSMOUTH - Funeral services for Fred A. Grandy, 84, of 160 Park St., were held Wednesday from Buckminster Chapel, with services at the First United Methodist Church, Portsmouth. The Rev. William T. Richards Jr., pastor, officiated.
Katherine Mathews was harpist and organist.
In attendance were members of the church; representatives from St. Andrew's Lodge, St. John's Lodge, Washington Chapter, Davenport Council, DeWitt Clinton Commandery, Scottish Rite Bodies of Portsmouth and Dover, New Hampshire Consistory, Portsmouth Shrine Club, Bektash Temple Shrine, York Rite College, AARP, NARFE and Rye Over 55 Club.
Burial was in Sagamore Cemetery, Portsmouth, with the committal service by the Rev. Richards.
The American flag that draped the casket was folded and presented to the daughter of the deceased, Debra Grandy.
Bearers were Kirk Whitmyer, Bobby Whitmyer, James Dumont and Joseph Trudel.
Largely attended Masonic services were conducted Tuesday evening at Buckminster Chapel by St. Andrew's Lodge, including Worshipful Master, Brian R. Sanderson; Senior Warden, Craig I. Brown; Junior Warden, Wor. Philip Fraser; Chaplain, Wor. Nelson D. Hersey, Secretary, Wor. Donald H. Ladd, Treasurer, Wor. Gerald F. Buehrer; Tyler, Wor. Knute Lundgren; Marshall, Wor. Edward Conway; Historian, Wor. Lynn J. Sanderson; Junior Deacon, Steven MacKenzie; Senior Steward, Ronald Pullium Jr., and Junior Steward, Alex Fogg.
Also assisting in services were representatives from the Grand Lodge of the State of New Hampshire; Grand Council of Cryptic Masons; St. James Lodge; St. Mark's Lodge; Naval Lodge; St. John's Lodge; Rising Star Lodge; and Jewell Lodge.
William F. Gilbert
HAMPTON - The funeral for William F. Gilbert, 70, of 8 Tuck Road, was held Wednesday from the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church. The Rev. George E. Ham, pastor, was the celebrant.
Nelson K. Ward was organist and Patricia Mackenson was soloist. Acolytes were Edward Schreier, Paul Sullivan and Edward Wakeen.
Burial followed in High Street Cemetery, with the committal service conducted by the Rev. Ham.
Pallbearers were Hickory F. Gilbert, Roy C. Gilbert, Mark J. Gilbert, Kevin A. Gilbert, all sons of Gilbert Chris Gilbert, and Edgar Carreiro.
American Legion services were conducted Tuesday evening by Hampton's American Legion Post No. 35 under the direction of Joe Kutt, commander, with several members in attendance.
Richard A. Marcotte
NORTH HAMPTON - Richard A. Marcotte, 54, of 139 Mill Road, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at his home.
Born Sept. 26, 1944, in Portsmouth, he was the son of Marion L. (Hosmer) Marcotte and the late Leo A. Marcotte. He attended Portsmouth schools and had resided in Portsmouth before moving to North Hampton.
During the Vietnam War, he served as a paratrooper.
For 20 years, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service Distribution Center in Portsmouth.
He enjoyed woodworking.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his special companion, Kathleen Miller of Dover; a brother, Ronald Marcotte of Weymouth, Mass; a sister, Carol McCormack of Naperville, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Albert F. Wagemann
RYE - Albert F. Wagemann, 83, formerly of Sagamore Road, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at Seacoast Health Center in Hampton.
Born July 11, 1916, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Frederick W. and Florence "Flora" (Koch) Wagemann. He had resided in Rye since 1965, moving there from Long Island, N.Y.
During World War II, he worked in the Defense Department. He worked as an accountant for United Technologies Corp. until his retirement in 1982.
He was a former communicant of St. James Church in Portsmouth.
He was the husband of the late Adelaide (Watson) Wagemann, who died in 1995, for 47 years.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews who live in New York.
He was predeceased by his two brothers.
