Martin J. Lyons
PORTSMOUTH - Funeral services for Martin J. Lyons, 96, of 346 Pleasant St., were held Tuesday, July 20, 1999. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated by the Rev. Agapit Jean at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. The funeral pall was placed on the casket by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Maureen Lyons, and his daughter, Teresa Marie Koontz. Jean Goss was organist. Thomas Ahearn was soloist. Readings were given by his great-granddaughter Clara Lyons and granddaughters Bridget and Kara Lyons. The Eucharistic gifts were presented by granddaughters Megan Lyons and Lelia Lambert; and nieces Maureen Daly and Sarah Kurpiel. A poem was read by granddaughter Mary Lyons. Eulogies were delivered by close friend Frank Provost and grandson John Lyons Jr. Military honors were rendered by Ron Dawson BM3 on the Bos'n pipe.
Burial was in the family lot in Calvary Cemetery with Father Jean and Jason Jalbert conducting the committal. Pallbearers were James Castner, James Quirk, Russ Case, and grandsons John Lyons III, John Lambert and David Koontz.
Arthur A. Proctor
BEVERLY, Mass. - Arthur A. "Butch" Proctor Jr., 61, died Friday, July 23, 1999, at Beverly Hospital after a long period of illness.
Born in Salem, Mass., he was the son of the late Arthur and Inez (Colwell) Proctor. He went to Salem schools and was a graduate of Salem High School.
For several years he was employed by the A.C. Lawrence Leather Company. He later worked as a taxi driver for many livery companies on the North Shore before moving to York, Maine. While living in Maine, he drove a school bus in York. He later moved back to Beverly.
He was the husband of Cynthia (Burke) Proctor.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Tammy Blauvelt and her husband, Larry, of Saugus, Mass., and Laura Brown and her husband, Tom; two sons, Randall Proctor of Stoneham, Mass., and Michael and Robin Livesey of Gloucester; three sisters, Elaine Haney of Vermont, Nancy Beloff of Marblehead, Mass., and Jean Hayes of Vermont; seven grandchildren, Cameron Proctor, Tyler and Austin Blauvelt, Michael Livesey Jr., Tabatha Livesey, Samantha Knowles, and Thomas Brown; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Lucy Phinney and Pauline Feener.
Richard A. Toussaint Jr.
NORTH BERWICK - Richard A. Toussaint Jr., 37, of Elm Street, died suddenly in an accident Friday, July 23.
Born Sept. 11, 1961, in Portsmouth, he was the son of Richard A. and Kathleen J. Mullally Toussaint. He was a 1980 graduate of Portsmouth High School. He lived in North Berwick for 16 years.
He was a self-employed contractor. A member of the Men's Biddeford Hockey League, he was also chairman of the Building Committee for the New Covenant Baptist Church. He coached softball for five years for the NBAA, and was very active in the church and with his two daughters.
He was the husband of Patricia Witt Toussaint for 18 years.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Kristen and Kellie Toussaint of North Berwick; maternal grandmother, Lillian Mullally of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; three brothers, William Toussaint of Epping, Eric Toussaint and his wife, Carol, of Dover, and Shawn Toussaint and his wife, Jennifer, of Sanford, Maine; a sister, Cheryl Kelley and her husband, Eugene, of North Berwick; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Jean Dorothy Losee Saunders
HAMPTON - Jean Dorothy Losee Saunders, 74, of Ocean Boulevard, Hampton, formerly of Smith Avenue, White Plains, N.Y., died Thursday, July 22, 1999, at the home of her daughter, Jean Carola, in New Milford, Conn.
Born Dec. 4, 1924, in Scarsdale, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Wilfrid and Katherine MacDonald Losee. In 1943, she graduated from Scarsdale High School.
She was a former member of St. Bartholomew's Episcopalian Church.
She was the wife of the late Herbert W. Saunders.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her sons, Frederick Saunders of Taos, N.M., and Kenneth Saunders of Franklin, Pa.; her sisters, Grace Orce of Port Chester, N.Y., Katherine Adams of Fishkill, N.Y., Elise Losee of Ocala, Fla., and Mary Losee of Hackensack, N.J.; nine cherished grandchildren; and one cherished great-grandchild.
Priscilla C. Dalton
DALTON - Priscilla C. Dalton died July 20, 1999. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 26, 1999, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wiscasset. In lieu of flowers, Priscilla has requested that donations be sent to the Butler House, 15 Nott Street, Saco, ME 04072. Arrangements are by Mayo & Daigle Funeral Home, 40 Federal St., Wiscasset.
James S. Wentworth
WELLS - James S. "Sid" Wentworth, 82, of Webhannet Drive, died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at York Hospital following a long period of illness.
Born Sept. 30, 1916, in Rochester, N.H., he was the son of James and Grace (Pillsbury) Wentworth. He was a 1935 graduate of Berwick High School.
During World War II, he served in the Army. He was employed as a sheet metal worker and then as a planner at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for many years. During the 1970s, he served as the tax assessor for the town of Wells.
He was very active in Wells town government, serving on the School Committee, School Planning Board, School Study Committee, and the School Building Committee. He also served as chairman of the School Budget Board, chairman of the board of trustees of the Wells Sanitary District, and as the fire chief of the Wells Beach Hose Co. Fire Department. He also served on the Zoning Committee and the town Budget Committee.
He was a member of the Wells Congregational Church.
He was a member of Ocean Lodge No. 142 in Wells; the Maine Consistory Valley of Portland; Kora Temple Shrine in Lewiston; and the York County Shrine Club.
He enjoyed golfing and traveling with his wife to their winter residence in Zephyrills, Fla., in their motor home.
He was the husband of Frances (Lord) Wentworth of Wells for 57 years.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, James Wentworth of Melrose, Mass.; and a daughter, Nancy Wentworth of Trumbull, Conn.
Madeline A. Tucker
ELIOT - Madeline A. Tucker, 82, of 3 Hanscome Road, died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Born June 4, 1917, in Mapleton, Maine, she was the daughter of Freeman and Zilla (Welch) Hanson.
She was a veteran of the Coast Guard and retired as a clerk typist from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Kittery and the WAVES organization, where she was a past president.
She was the wife of Leo Tucker for more than 54 years.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Karen "Annie" Huebner and her husband, James, of Eliot; a son, Karl Tucker and his wife, Susan, of Biddeford, Maine; and a grandson, Keatz Tucker of Biddeford.
She was predeceased by a son, Mark Tucker.
Dorothy E. Ostrowski
PORTSMOUTH - Dorothy E. (Cirigliano) Ostrowski, 66, of 1345 Maplewood Ave., died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Born on Aug. 1, 1932, in Hartford, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Emily (Clark) Cirigliano.
Before retiring, she was employed as a key punch operator at Data General.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas M. Ostrowski of Tampa, Fla., and Glen P. Ostrowski of Portsmouth; two daughters, Judith M. Chichester and Emily L. Ostrowski, both of Somersworth; three granddaughters; and a sister, Josephine Regini of Enfield, Conn.
She was predeceased by a sister, Eunice Mancuso, of Enfield.
Mariem G. Grange
EXETER - Mariem Gail Grange, 80, of 277 Water St., formerly of Andover, Mass., and Sanford, N.C., died Monday, July 26, 1999, at Seacoast Health Center in Hampton.
Born May 15, 1919, in Jefferson, Iowa, she was the daughter of William G. and Pauline (Haag) Dunlop. She lived in Andover for 25 years, before retiring to Sanford.
In Exeter, she was active in the elderly housing and served as a volunteer at Exeter Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Robert Grange, who died in 1993.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail G. and Lynn Johnson of North Conway, N.H., and Susan J. and Jack Mitchell of Brentwood; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas R. and Tina Grange of Methuen, Mass.; six grandsons; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; and two step-grandchildren.
Edward V. Rinalducci
HAMPTON - The funeral for Edward V. Rinalducci, 92, of Orlando, Fla., was held Monday, July 26, 1999, at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home. The Rev. J. Jermain Bodine, pastor and teacher of the Stratham Community Church, officiated.
Jean Goss was the organist.
Burial followed in the High Street Cemetery with committal prayers by the Rev. Bodine.
Pallbearers were Edward V. Rinalducci Jr., Edward V. Rinalducci III, Gary Allen, Scott Johnson and Mark Johnson.
Ruth G. O'Donnell
HAMPTON - The funeral for Ruth G. O'Donnell, 68, of 2 Hampton Towne Estates, Hampton, was held Monday, July 26, 1999, from the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home. Services were held in the Christ Church Episcopal, Exeter. The Rev. Warren H. Deane officiated.
Anne Shumway Rowe was organist.
Burial followed in the Exeter Cemetery with committal prayers by the Rev. Deane.
Pallbearers were Tim Boudion, Bill Boudion, Jeff Boudion, Mike Boudion, John Dudley and Dustin Stevens.
Shirley G. Rockwell
KITTERY - Funeral services for Shirley G. Rockwell, of 10 Adams Road, Kittery, were held Wednesday, July 21, 1999, at the Wilson-Cooper Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Chang offered the service at the funeral home.
Services continued in the Adams Family Cemetery, Adams Road, Kittery, with committal prayers by the Rev. Chang.
Pallbearers were David Rockwell, Kenneth Rockwell, Warren Ward, Donald French, David Ward and Peter Ward.
Anne Louise Nudd
HAMPTON - Anne Louise (Davis) Nudd, 78, a longtime Hampton resident, died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at Exeter Hospital.
Born April 21, 1921, in Dorchester, Mass., she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Walker) Davis.
Mrs. Nudd worked for more than 20 years as a registered nurse at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, retiring to private duty nursing in 1990. She had worked at the former Portsmouth Naval Hospital during the late 1940s and early 1950s.
She was a 1938 graduate of Braintree (Mass.) High School and a 1941 graduate of the Tewksbury (Mass.) State Hospital School of Nursing.
Mrs. Nudd was the widow of Robert L. Nudd, who died in March 1989.
Family members include her daughter, Sandra Ann Morton and her husband, Brian, of New Westminster, British Columbia; two sons, Robert Lewis Nudd Jr. and his wife, Sheila, of Hampton, and David Paul Nudd and his wife, Diana, of Kingston; two grandchildren, Kelley and Jessie Nudd of Kingston; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend and willing accomplice, June Perkins of Hampton.
Paul M. Nicoloff
DURHAM - Paul McInerney Nicoloff, 44, died Friday, July 23, 1999, in Berkeley, Calif., following a long period of depressive illness.
Born Nov. 17, 1954, in Durham, he was the son of Marguerite M. and Philip L. Nicoloff. He was a graduate of Oyster River HIgh School, attended the University of New Hampshire, and was a graduate of Boston University.
He is known to many through his work as a cartoonist.
In addition to his parents, survivors include a son, Ryan Hagen, and Ryan's mother, Cherie Hagen, of Methuen, Mass.; five sisters, Lee Nicoloff of Portland, Elizabeth Baum of San Francisco, Ann Becker of Westwood, Mass., Martha Nicoloff of St. Paul, Minn., and Emily Horning of McLean, Va.; and a niece and many nephews.
There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at St. Thomas More Church in Durham, with the Rev. Daniel St. Laurent as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Flora L. Curran
PORTSMOUTH - Flora L. Curran, 96, of 936 South St., died Monday, July 26, 1999, at her home.
Born Sept. 21, 1902, in Methuen, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Blanche (Carroll) Bowlen. She lived in Augusta, Maine, before moving to Portsmouth five years ago.
For more than 30 years, she worked for the state of Maine Department of Health & Welfare in the Office of Vital Statistics.
She was a past president of the Business and Professional Women's Club, and was a member of the Maine State retired employees association.
She was the wife of the late Joseph R. Curran.
Survivors include the Rev. Edward C. Bowlen Jr. of Porterville, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
