Muetzel with private intermenty which will take place in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Died peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 27, 1999. Age 80, she was born in Bay City, MI on June 7, 1918, the daughter of Venus and Hazel (Grant) Van Haaren. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard H. Stork, founder of Stork Pools and brother, Grant Van Haaren. She had been a resident of Ft. Lauderdale, FL for the past 38 years, and was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church of Coconut Creek along with many other women's organizations, foundations and charities. She was the loving and caring mother of sons: Daniel Stork and James Stork of Boca Raton, FL. Also surviving are her brother Donald (Ginny) Van Haaren of Essexville, MI; sister-in-law Jane (Beebe) Van Haaren of Bay City, MI and a host of other friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Joanna's name to the Sylvester Cancer Center/Div. of Hematology and Oncology, 1475 NW 12th Ave. (D8-4), Miami, FL 33136, or the Hospice Foundation of America, 3700 Executive Way, Miramar, FL 33025. Mr. Gielda died Wednesday afternoon, February 3, 1999 at his son's residence, age 58 years. He was born on January 18, 1941 in Bay City, MI and has lived here most of his life. Mr. Gielda married the former Jeanne Norrington on April 2, 1960 at St. James Church. She survives him. Mr. Gielda worked for the Ford Motor Company as a Prototype Process Analyst. He was a former member of St. Stanislaus Church, and was an avid bow hunter and golfer. He graduated from St. Stanislaus High School in 1959. Surviving besides his wife, Jeanne are his children and their spouses: Greg Gielda of MN, David (Shannon) Gielda of Bay City and Kimberly (Mark) Oldfield of MN; three grandchildren: Alexander Oldfield, Shaun Oldfield and Kaleigh Gielda. Also, his mother, Virginia Gielda of Essexville; two brothers and a sister and their spouses: Richard (Jan) Gielda of MD, Jim Gielda of Essexville and Carlene (Calvin) Witucki of KY; a beloved cousin, Robert P. (Darlene) Graczyk of Bay City; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Gielda was predeceased by his father, Eugene Gielda. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Saturday, February 6, 1999 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. William J. Rutkowski officating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. There will be a Parish Wake Service at 7:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 9 P.M. and at the church on Saturday from 10:30 A.M. until time of Funeral Mass. Gray, Kenneth W.
Freeland, Michigan Medical Center in Midland after a lengthy illness. Age 65 years. Kenneth was born June 15, 1933 in Mills Township, Midland County to the late Floyd W. and Catherine D. (Clarke) Gray and has resided in this area all of his life. Kenneth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Freeland, American Legion Thomas Daniel Hand Post #443 in Sanford, V.F.W. Post #3651 Midland in which he was past Commander from 1988-1989, the Bay County Democratic Party, and the United Steelworkers Union Local #12075 in which he served as Chief Union Steward for 8 years. Kenneth served on the Williams Township Planning Commission, he was also an avid hunter, fisherman, reader, and gardener. During the Korean Conflict, Kenneth served in the U.S. Army in Germany. Kenneth worked at Dow Chemical in Midland for 39 years, retiring in 1992. On October 5, 1957 he married Grace O. Forbes, she survives him. Also surviving are two sons: Michael (Sally) Gray of Bay City, and Steven (Ann) Gray of Auburn; a daughter Vickey (Kevin) Martin of Sanford; eight grandchildren: Jarrett, Adam, Chad, Bruce, Katie, Timothy, Kelli, and Michael; one great-grandchild, Jacob; one brother, Clark (Roberta) Gray of Sanford, one sister, Janet (Woodward) Koan of Flushing; and many nieces and nephews. Kenneth is also survived by his cat, Tippy. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 1999 at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home in Freeland. Rev. The Funeral Liturgy will be Saturday February 6, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Charles L. Ganley will officiate. Interment will be in St. Patricks Cemetery. James was called to his heavenly home Wednesday morning, February 3, 1999 from the Bay Shores Nursing Home following a lingering illness, age 84 years. James was born July 1, 1914 in Attalla, AL. He came to Bay City in 1953 where he was employed by the A & P Food Stores, from which he retired. Surviving are his wife, the former Emma Thaxton to whom he was married in 1940. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Pauline Tabron of Detroit; a nephew, Booker T. Thaxton; a great nephew, John Sutton; and a great niece, Eleanor Humphrey; also, a host of relatives and friends. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church and the N.A.A.C.P. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Henry. Friends may call at the Hyatt- Ewald Funeral Home on Friday from 3 to 5 P.M. The family hour will be Friday evening from 7 to 8 P.M. Mr. Rowan will lie in state at the Second Baptist Church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11 A.M. Pastor Seth R.
