Steyer, Peter P. Sr. (Pete)
Bay City, Michigan living in Bay County all of his life. He was married to the former Ruth Ann Krauss in Bay City on June 25, 1949, she survives him. They would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this coming June. Mr. Steyer retired form the Prestolite Corp. in 1981 after 34 years of service where he was the Safety Director and Union Steward. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church, the U.A.W. Retirees C.A.P. Council and National Council of Senior Citizens. Surviving besides his wife Ruth Ann, he leaves his children and their spouses: Ruth and David Justa and their son Jonathan; Peter and Sharon Steyer, Jr. and their daughters Amanda and Shannon; James and Leslie Steyer and their daughters Stephanie and Kristin all of Bay City; Gloria Nelson of Columbus, IN and her children and grandchildren: Pam (Brent) Overfelt, Michael Nelson, Marsha Bennett and her son Kyle;Tom (Pam) Nelson and their daughter Brittany. He was predeceased by two brothers: Casper and John Steyer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Saturday, February 13, 1999 at Holy Trinity Church by Rev. Fr. Michael G. Dunckel with entombment in Floral Gardens Mausoleum. A Parish Wake Service will take place at 7:30 P.M. Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Bay Area. Chester was predeceased by a stepson, Melvin Manor. The Funeral Liturgy will take place Monday, February 15, 1999 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James F. Gavit will officiate. Cremation has taken place and burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will be present at the church to receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until time of services. The daughter of Dorothy P. and the late Ernest J. Gerhauser passed away Tuesday, February 9, 1999 at Bay Medical Care Facility. Age 68 years. She was born July 28, 1930 in Alma, California; one nephew, Kurt L. Rider and one niece, Sandra A. (Todd) Villaire; and special friends of the family, Rolland and Geraldine Gerhauser, all of Bay City. At the request of Barbara, private funeral services took place Friday, February 12, 1999 at 1:00 P.M. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating was Rev. Mark A. Mrs. Scheddel passed away suddenly Friday February 12, 1999 at Bay Medical Center, age 90 years. She was born March 25, 1908 in Bay City and has resided here all of her life. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, retired in 1972 from the Bay Arenac Intermediate School District as a financial secretary. Mrs Scheddel enjoyed traveling and was a member of many bridge clubs. She is survived by one son and two daughters-in-law; Dewey and Bonnie Scheddel of Bay City, Beverly Scheddel of Palm Harbor, TX., Jery Scheddel of Detriot, and Greg Scheddel of Palm Harbor, Florida. The former Sylivia Elizabth Grobe married Lester Scheddel on August 22, 1931 and he preceded her in death in 1963, she was also predeceased by one son Larry Scheddel in 1963, and one sister Ethel Bowen. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Tuesday, February 16, 1999 at 11:30 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home Inc,. Officiating will be Pastor Thomas Oxtoby with private intermenty in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services.
