Mrs. Ziolkowski, died peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Tuesday morning, February 16, 1999, age 94 years. Daughter of the late Theodore and Josephine (Hinc) Kukla, she was born August 13, 1904 in Bay City where she has lived all of her life. She married Lawrence Ziolkowski Sr., June 7, 1926, he predeceased her in 1961. Mrs. Ziolkowski was a seamstress for many years before retiring. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church. Surviving are eight children: Leona Nutt of Florida; Florence (Ramon) Jahr, Fairgrove, Michigan; Pauline (Frank) Gwizdala, Daniel (Mary Lou) Ziolkowski all of Bay City; Lawrence Ziolkowski Jr., Las Vegas, Nevada; Virginia (Edward) Klenke, Gladwin, Michigan; Romaine (Raymond) Diedrich, Chandler, Arizona; Kathleen (Joseph) Gwizdala of Bay City, Michigan; one daughter-in-law, Charlotte Raths; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Verna McDonald and Eva Sielski both of Bay City. She was predeceased by a son, Raymond and four brothers and two sisters. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 19, 1999 at 12, Noon from St. Stanislaus Church by Rev. Fr. William J. Rutkowski with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7-9 PM; on Thursday from 2- 4 and 7-9 PM and at the church on Friday after 11:30 AM. There will be a Parish Wake Service at 8 PM Thursday. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Bay Area or St. Stanislaus Development Fund. Gower, Gary A.

Mr. Gower died Wednesday, February 17, 1999 at Brian's House, age 57 years. Son of the late Vernon and Helen (Rowell) Gower, he was born December 27, 1941 in Bay City and has lived here all of his life. He married the former Kathleen Boersma April 18, 1970 in Bay City. She survives him. Richard Gower served in the U.S. Air Force. Surviving besides his wife, Kathleen, he leaves 2 sons Joseph (Jill) Gower, Michael (Lisa) Gower all of Bay City; 3 grandchildren: Allyson, Abigail and Alexandra, 1 sister Margaret Lapouttre of Essexville. He was predeceased by 1 brother and a sister, Donald Gower and Betty Giffel. There will be visitation only on Friday, February 19, 1999 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Ambrose Funeral Home with inurnment at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Griffin, Bonnie Jean (Bula)

Bonnie Jean (Bula) Griffin, age 54 years, beloved wife and mother, passed away Tuesday evening February 16, 1999 unexpectedly at the Bay Medical Center. She was born in Bay City on August 11, 1944 and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Griffin had been employed with Wirt Stone Company of Saginaw as a bookkeeper for over 20 years. She was a member of the American Legion Unit 18 Auxiliary and an associate member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 494. The former Bonnie Carmichael was married to James Griffin in 1975. Surviving are her husband James; two children, Kevin and Jamie, both of Bay City; two grandchildren, Christina and Christopher Buzzard; her mother, Betty Murringer of Bay City; two brothers, Glenn (Debra) Carmichael of Hemlock, Doug Carmichael of Florida; aunt and uncle, LaVonne and DuWayne Auger of Bay City. Mrs. Griffin's stepfather Vincent Murringer is deceased. The Funeral Service will be held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock from Stapish East (Essexville) Mr. Michael Frazho will officiate. Interment will be in Green Ridge Cemetery. The Auxiliary Memorial Service will be Thursday evening at 7 o'clock in the funeral home. James O. Kent, age 77 years, died Wednesday, February 17, 1999 in Bay Medical Center. He was born to James A. and Charlotte P. (Buckius) Kent on August 1, 1921 in Bay City, where he resided all his life. Jim was a nickel plater with Goddeyne Manufacturing for twenty-five years, retiring in 1953. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving our country during WWII. Jim was a life member of D.A.V. Chapter #9, P.L.A.V. Post #162, Amvets Post #22, and V.F.W. Post #485. He married Midge Gunther in 1945 and she preceded him in death in 1982. Surviving family members include a daughter, Karolyn French of Bay City; three grandchildren, Amber (Luke) Goss, James (Julie) French, and Jay (Renae) French; six great-grandchildren, James, Kevin, Jerred, and Nathan French, Tyler and Kaitlyn Goss; two sisters, Iva Johnson and Thelma Chamberlain of Bay City; along with several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his parents, and two sisters, Pauline Witzke and Beatrice Lambert. Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 20, 1999 at 11:00 AM in the W.A. Trahan Funeral Chapel. Rev. Robert Fread (Kawkawlin Community Church) will officiate and intermenty will follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery, with military rites by the Bay County Veterans Council. Mrs. Pilat, age 77 years, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 1999 at Saginaw St. Mary's from complications after open heart surgery. She was born in Hamtramck on March 12, 1921 to the late John & Agnes (Ziomek) Pieniozek. She was retired from Standish Community Hospital and was a member of St. Agnes Church and Altar Society. She is survived by her children: Robert Pilat and friend, Sherry Rumer of Beaverton, Ronald Pilat and friend, Cindy Lamay of Gladwin, Barbara (Thomas) St. James of Whittemore, Mary Jane (Bruce) Skornia of Bay City; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers: Frank Pieniozek of Pinconning, Stanley Pieniozek of Bentley, Edward Pieniozek of Bay City, Leo Pieniozek of Sterling, Chester Pieniozek of Brutus and John Pieniozek of Bentley and a sister, Angeline Pieniozek of Bentley. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband John Sr.; a son John Jr.; and several brothers & sisters-in-law. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, February 20, 1999 at 11 AM from St. Agnes Church with the Rev. Fr. Joseph Miller presiding with burial in St. Mary's Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lee- Ramsay Funeral Home on Friday from 1 PM to 9 PM. The St. Agnes Rosary Society will say the rosary at 3 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Harvey B. Stepanski, age 78 years, died Wednesday, February 17, 1999 in his home with his family by his side. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Monday, February 22, 1999 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Church and intermenty will follow in The Resurrection of the Lord Cemetery in Standish. The Vigil Prayer Service will be held Sunday at 3:00 PM in the Trahan Chapel. Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Joseph Church, Bay Area Regional Dialysis, or Hospice of Bay Area. On February 17, 1999 God needed a rose for his table. He looked down and saw Andrea. He reached down putting his arms around her and lifted her to heaven. She was born in Bay City on December 26, 1993 to Ronald and Michelle (Roe) Bedell. We love you to the moon and back "Our brave little toaster". Surviving besides her parents, are her sister, Katelyn Bedell; grandparents, David and Nancy Denay of Bay City, Ronald and Doris Bedell, Sr. of Harrison and Ronald and Joann Roe of Bay City; Great Grandmothers: Evelyn Dubay of Pinconning and Mildred Roe of LA; Aunts and Uncles: Joni (Kevin) Mitrzyk, Janine Denay, Connie (Andy) Bissonette, David Denay II, Greg Denay and friend Amy, Jeff Denay; Great Aunt and Uncle, Kathy (Virgil) Rosebohm and George (Cheryl) Dubey. Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday, Febuary 22, 1999 at 1 p.m. from St. Michael's Church with Rev. Fr. Ramon Matuszewski presiding with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may call at Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel. On Monday Andrea will lie in state at church from 12 noon until time of services. Family requests memorials for the Andrea Bedell Memorial Fund to be used for the "Make a Wish Foundation "and "Give Kids the World".
