Mrs. McQuarter, age 57, passed away Thursday evening, May 13, 1999 at her residence with her family at her side following a brief illness. She was born in Grand Rapids on November 18, 1941 to Norman and Stella (Brinnon) Bachand. Pat married Harold McQuarter on February 28, 1960 in St. Mary's Church, Pinconning. He survives her. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Bay County Sheriff's Mounted Division, and was retired from the Pinconning Area Schools after 20 years. She enjoyed camping and working with her crafts and painting. She is survived by her husband, Harold; her children: Brenda (Kenneth) Publow of Pinconning and Scott (Cynthia) McQuarter of Midland; three grandchildren: K.C. & Brendan Publow and Lindsey McQuarter; her parents, Norman and Stella Bachand of Florida; a sister, Lilly Stief of Pennsylvania; two brothers: John (Mary) Bachand and Tim (Bonnie) Bachand, both of Florida. She was predeceasd by her brother-in-law, Donald Stief. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday, May 18, 1999 at 11 A.M. from St. Mary's Church with Rev. Fr. Joseph Miller presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary's Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home on Monday from 1 P.M. to 9 P.M. A Prayer Service will be held at 8 P.M. Mrs. Tipper, age 88 years, passed away Friday, May 14, 1999 at Bay Medical Care Facility. She was born in Chisolm, MN on April 18, 1911 to the late Lyman and Lizzie (Bruening) Morton. She married Edward Tipper and he preceded her in death in 1961. Mrs. Tipper is survived by 2 sisters: Esther Chema and Florence Jones, both of Flint and a brother, Charlie Morton of Flint as well as several nieces and nephews. Mary Rose Clark of Cedar Springs, age 80, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 1999 at Spectrum Hospital. She was born June 3, 1918 in Shovel Lake, MN. Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Clark in 1968, a son, Herman Clark, three grandchildren, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include her children: Mary Ellen Cole (Melvin) of Byron Center, Florence Watson (Joe) of Cedar Springs, Maxine Manteufel (Howard) of Flint, Alice Haubenstricker of Mt. Morris, Virgil James (Sandy) of Kette Falls, WA; 26 grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Dorothy Seeley of Sparta and Ina Mae Reese of Hastings; three brothers: Jack Caverly (Ricky) of CA, Dean Caverly (Harriet) of Lakeview, and Bill Caverly of Sparta. Mrs. Clark's family will greet relatives and friends Tuesday, May 18, 1999 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Mrs. Elliott, age 72 years, died May 16, 1999 at Brian's House. She was born in Bay City on June 29, 1926, the daughter of Leo and Sarah (Pratt) LeRoux. She married James B. Elliott on May 4, 1946 and he preceded her in death on August 15, 1986. She was a cook in the Bay City Public Schools prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Church of St. Mary. She is survived by two children: Robert L. Elliott of Otsego and Barbara J. (Richard) McManus of Margate, FL; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Leo (Joan) LeRoux of Essexville and two daughters-in-law: Barbara Elliott of Essexville and Karin Elliott of Ypsilanti. She was preceded in death by two sons, Frank and Richard Elliott. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday at 10 A.M. at Penzien & Steele Funeral Home. The Rev. Fr. James G. Heller will preside. Our angel on earth, Kerry Mae, went home to join our Lord on May 16, 1999. Kerry was born with Cerebral Palsy. Her parents, David and Margie, moved their family from Oscoda to Saginaw in 1987 so Kerry could attend the Millet Center in Bridgeport, where she received loving care. She is survived by her parents and by her sisters, Kimberly, 13 and Tammi, 12; her grandparents, Gladys Freel of Whittemore and Ed and Genevieve Fasbender of Oscoda. Many loving aunts, uncles and cousins also survive her. Her grandfather, Floyd Freel, predeceased her. Funeral Service will take place 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the W. L. Case & Co. Mr. Johnson passed away late Saturday morning, May 15, 1999 at Bay Medical Center. Age 78 years. The son of the late Ernest and Blanche (Darling) Johnson was born January 18, 1921 in Remus, MI and has resided in Bay City, MI most of his life. He was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church and served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from the former Ultra Carbon Company (Carbone America). He is survived by his eight children, their spouses and children: Henry R. and MaryLou Johnson of Bay City and children, Amy Jo and Neil Raymond; Carolyn and Ron Weaver of Saginaw and children, Megan and Mark; Robert and Helen Johnson of Sanford and children, Michael, Donald, Kristy, Nicole, Michael and Adam; Roger and Susan Johnson of Bay City and son, Tom; Retha and Richard Koehler of Bay City and children, Adam and Andrew; Jean and Gary Shephard of Bay City and children, Tiffany, Justin, Clint and Wes; James and Diana Johnson of Tampa, FL and Grace and Benjamin and Sally and Daniel Jackson of Pinconning and children, Emily and Lance; one great-grandchild, Abagail Johnson and two sisters: Lucille (Gasta) Sapp of Orville, CA and Doris Rood of Auburn, WA. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Beulah G. (Stead) Johnson on June 15, 1996. Age 66, died Friday, May 14, 1999 at Vencore Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Gilbert was born in Pine River, MI on October 26, 1932, the son of Gilbert and Grace Trombley. He married Lois Ann Baum on February 27, 1954 at St. John Catholic Church in Standish, MI. Gilbert was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from General Motors after 34 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Lois; seven children: Susan Waldecker (Darryl), Laurel Trombley (Bill), Tari Rowan (Mark), Ted Trombley (Susan), Julie McFarland (Mike), Marc Trombley (Shelly) and Leslee Stinson; 19 grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters: Kenneth Trombley (Rosemary), Marie Koelsch, Kate Raymond (Clarence), Gertrude LaFave (Robert), Robert Trombley (Jean), Gladys Umphrey and Joseph Trombley (Carol); many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Gilbert was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Anthony and Andrew, great-grandson, Logan, two brothers, Leonard and Lewis. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Thursday, May 20, 1999 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Rd., Flint. with Rev. Fr. Phillip Schmitter, Rev. Fr. Paul Schwermer and Deacon Dave Piggot celebrants. Cremation will take place following the funeral Mass. Mr. Trombley will lie-in- state at the Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., where the family will receive visitors from 6- 9 P.M.
