Alphonse J. Gorney, age 86, of Flint, died Sunday, May 16, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center. Mr. Gorney was born in Bay City, MI on June 24, 1912, the son of John and Margaret Gorney. He had resided in the Flint area most of his life. Alphonse married Stella Raczek on February 6, 1937 in Bay City. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 2 P.M. Thursday, May 20, 1999 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Rd. with Rev. Fr. Paul Schwermer celebrant. Entombment at Flint Memorial Park. Mr. Gorney will lie in state at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., where the family will receive visitors from 4-6 P.M. on Tuesday and from 12-2 P.M. and 5-9 P.M. on Wednesday. Madeline B. Wendt, age 73 years, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 17, 1999 in Frankenmuth. The former Madeline Nuffer was born September 16, 1926 in Bay County. She was married to Howard Wendt on June 17, 1950 in Bay City. He survives her. Madeline and her husband, Howard, operated the Nuechterlein-Wendt Funeral Home in Frankenmuth from 1950 to 1970. She then worked at Zehnder's Gift Shop as a buyer for 20 years. She was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and volunteered at the Frankenmuth Historical Museum. Besides her husband Howard are two daughters: Cindy and Randy Morris of Grandville, MI and Kathy and Bruce Colvin of Jackson, FL; three grandchildren: Jeffrey, Matthew and Stephanie; her mother, Bertha Nuffer of Frankenmuth; one brother, William and Mary Nuffer of Suttons Bay; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, John Nuffer in 1976 and a daughter, Kristine in 1977. Funeral service will take place 10:30 A.M. Thursday at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth and 11:00 A.M. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark D. Brandt officiating. Burial will be in St. Lorenz Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 P.M. on Wednesday where the family will be present from 1-5 P.M. and 6-9 P.M. Deborah A. Zuziak, age 46, a resident of New Baltimore, died suddenly on May 16, 1999. Mrs. Zuziak was a home health care provider for her husband. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, David A. Sr.; her children: Terry LaFramboise (Sarah), Kristy Zuziak-Wilson (Patrick), David A. Jr. (Danielle Russell) and Karrah D. Mrs. Wood, age 93 years, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 1999 at Bay Shores Nursing Center. She was born in Mackinaw City, October 1, 1905, and has lived in Bay County for most of her life. She was married to Everett E. Wood for 68 years, before he predeceased her in 1991. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Essexville. Mrs. Wood is survived by six children: Eleanor Verellen, Audrey (Frank) Jankens, and Frederick (Goldie) Wood, all of Bay City, Arthur (Mary) Wood of Bradenton, Florida, Lawrence (June) Wood of Rose City, Michigan, and Kathleen (Bob) Harlow of Baxter, Tennessee. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and four great- great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Augusta Osterman, two brothers, Fred and Leonard Osterman, a grandson, Jeffery Long, a son-in-law, Louis Verellen, and a great-great-grandson, Richard Riley Limbaugh. Funeral and Committal Services will be on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Rev. Duane M. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Joshua was in the Ninth Grade at John Glenn High School. Joshua enjoyed golf, hunting and fishing. Joshua is survived by his parents, Lynn (Wally) Church of Pinconning and Bryan (June) DuCap of Port Orange, FL; his sister, Kellie Jezewski of Pinconning; special grandparents, Robert and Kathy May and Nancy DuCap, all of Bay City; his great- grandmother, Irene Maciejewski of Bay City; his nephew, Jason Dietrich; and nieces, Jessica and Mariah Dietrich; many aunts and uncles and his best friend, Joel Stagray. Joshua was predeceased by his grandfather, Charles DuCap, great-grandmother, Velma Griffiths, and great-grandfather, Edward Maciejewski.
