Mr. King passed away suddenly Saturday, January 29, 2000 at Standish Community Hospital, age 76 years. He was born January 28, 1924 in Charlotte, MI. He was married to Evelyn Elder; she predeceased him in September of 1998. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was employed with Monitor Sugar for 18 years, retiring in 1985. Surviving family are one son and two daughters: Nancy (Dan) Maxson, Charles H. King, Sr. and Sandy DeLong; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Freddy Marshall; and several nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by a son, Harold C. King Jr. Funeral and Committal Services will take place 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 1, 2000 from Squires Funeral Home. Rev. Fred W. Wibert will officiate. Lisa Gloria Knitt passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 28, 2000 at the age of 34. She was born on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota on January 12, 1966. At the age of 2 years, she was adopted by the Reverend and Mrs. Erwin Knitt of Brayaria, Texas. She attended Brazosport College in Clute, Texas and Delta College. She is survived by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Knitt; her special friend, Daniel Hughes of Midland; her sister, Heidi Johnson and husband, Mark, of Lake Jackson, Texas; a sister, Beth Sanders and her husband, Tom, of Mart, Texas; a brother, David Knitt and wife, Barbara of Monument, Colorado, brother, Geoffrey Knitt and wife, Mary, of San Antonio, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fulkersin died Monday, January 31, 2000 at Bay Medical Center, age 74 years. She was born October 6, 1925 in Bay City and has resided here all her life. She was married to Walter B. Fulkersin for 50 years; he predeceased her on April 30, 1998. Surviving are two sons and their spouses: Gary (Patsy) Fulkersin of Essexville and Mark (Mary) Fulkersin of Bay City; four grandchildren: Lisa, Sheila, Bryan and Kristin Fulkersin; two sisters: Alice Wisniewski of Sterling and Sally Challette of Bay City; and several nieces and nephews. Madeline G. McEachin, age 74 years, passed away in Venice, Florida on January 30, 2000. She had been a Gagetown resident for many years. She graduated from Gagetown High School before her marriage in 1948 to Angus McEachin, and had been employed with Michigan Bell Telephone Company for six years. Along with Angus, her loving husband of 52 years, she is survived by 10 children: Mary McEachin of Paw Paw, Grace (William) Pfeiffer of Mattawan, Daniel (Mary) McEachin of Troy, Frances (William) Becker of Huntington Woods, Neil McEachin of Eugene, Oregon, Richard McEachin and Gerald McEachin, both residing in Ann Arbor, David (Judy) McEachin living in Richmond, Virginia, JoAnn (Horst) Steinfels of Toronto and Paul (Karla) McEachin, also of Richmond, Virginia; three brothers: Douglas Comment and Eugene Comment, both of Gagetown and Raymond Comment of Rochester Hills, and 14 grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated with Fr. Cornelius McEachin at 11:00 Friday morning, February 4, 2000 at St. Agatha Catholic Church. Mrs. McEachin will lie in state at the church from 10:00 until Mass time. Visitation will be at Gagetown Funeral Chapel where the family will be present Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 o'clock, and on Thursday between the hours of 3 and 9 o'clock. Mr. Sartain passed away Tuesday morning, February 1, 2000 at his residence. Age 91 years. The son of the late Alex and Estella (Sackett) Sartain was born November 20, 1908 in Sayre, Pennsylvania and moved to Michigan as a young child. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Wenona Lodge #256 F. & A.M., and the Bay City Consistory. He retired from Second National Bank of Saginaw in 1977. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, the former Helen M. Smith whom he married on July 16, 1928. Also surviving are his goddaughter, Robin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Duncan H. in 1961, his brother, Fremont Sartain and two sisters, Emma Sartain and Marian Noecker. Mrs. Filcek died late Monday evening, January 31, 2000 at her home with her family by her side after a brief illness, age 66 years. Elsie was born the daughter of the late John C. and Elsie (Mattis) Pashak June 4, 1933 in Beaver Twp. and had resided in this area all of her life. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Kawkawlin and enjoyed bowling. On April 30, 1960 she married Harvey D. Filcek; he predeceased her on January 12, 1991. She is survived by one son, Steven (Tammy) Filcek of Pinconning; one daughter, Sandy (Keith) Kowalski of Bay City; seven grandchildren: Ryan and Tyler Kowalski, StevieJo and Kyle Filcek, Brent, Tonya, MariJo and David Aasved; two great- grandchildren: Zachary and BreAnna; two sisters: Jean (Clarence) Alvesteffer of Bay City and Judy Smith of Auburn; one brother, John C. (Judy) Pashak of Logansport, IN; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Art (Irene) Filcek; four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Robert (Diane) Filcek, Art (Marge) Filcek, Clarence (Mary) Filcek and Wayne (Diane) Filcek; special friends: Whitey (Bonnie) Grappin; two special caregivers: Sandy MacDonald and Jan Stefanski and many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was also predeceased by a brother-in-law, Wayne Smith. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 3, 2000 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Kawkawlin. Fr. Chester J.
