Mr. Whitbrodt died early Friday morning, February 4, 2000 at Bay Medical Center. Age 85 years. The son of the late Albert and Frances (Sladzinski) Whitbrodt, Walter was born in Auburn on April 26, 1914. He worked as a commercial painter and decorator. Walter was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Walter is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rose (Jankowiak) Whitbrodt; sisters: Helen Skyrme of Auburn, Gertrude Spees, Viola Thompson, Frances DuCharme and Dorothy Majeske, all of Bay City; sister-in-law, Frances (Casey) Jablonski of Bay City; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends. At the request of Mr. Whitbrodt, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Gephart Funeral Home. Mary T. Groulx, age 97 years, died Saturday morning, February 5, 2000 in the Bay Medical Care Facility. She was born on November 23, 1902 to the late John and Margaret (Gracey) McAlindon in Munger. Mary was a member of St. Norbert Church and its Altar Society. ON August 22, 1922 she married Leo R. Groulx, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 1969. Survivors include her three daughters: Mary (James) McCure of Louisville, KY, Lucille Budzinski of Saginaw, and Marjorie (Leon) Giffel of Bay City; 24 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; one brother: John McAlindon of Bay City; and two daughters-in-law: Catherine Groulx and Margaret Groulx, both of Munger. She was also preceded in death by her two sons: Leo J. Groulx, Jr. and Joseph P. Groulx; two infant daughters: Madeline and Blanche Groulx; four sisters and two brothers: Helen Corrion, Margaret Gatza, Marion Erndt, Josephine Rachwitz, Harold McAlindon, and James McAlindon. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, February 8, 2000 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Norbert Church, Munger. Mary will lie in state in church Tuesday after 9:00 A.M. Rev. William J. Gruden will preside and intermenty will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Kawkawlin. Visiting hours will be Monday from 2:00 to 8:30 PM at the W.A. Trahan Funeral Chapel. Age 74, died Friday, February 4, 2000 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon following a 21/2 year illness. He was born July 16, 1925 in Sebewaing, son of the late George and Clara (Zamke) Loeffler. Bob had been employed by the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad for 42 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing and the American Legion, Sebewaing Post #293. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a Sebewaing fireman and ambulance attendant for several years. He loved bowling and softball. Surviving are two sisters: Alice and her husband, Frederick Bauer, and Virginia Hoagg, all of Sebewaing; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Loeffler in 1972. The Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM Monday, February 7, 2000 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Rev. Charles Kuhl will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Callahan, age 71, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2000 at Mid- Michigan Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Saginaw August 27, 1928 to Fred and Florence (Sherman) Callahan. Bob was a retired millwright from GM Powertrain and a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Bay City, Albright Shores Eagles 3655 and the American Legion Post 104. He married the former Colleen A. Sauve on October 22, 1960 in Bay City; she survives him. Also surviving are their children: Linda and Ray Bellhorn of Linwood, Mary Kendall of Pinconning, Robert M. Callahan of Marquette and Pamela and Rick McGrandy of Bay City, Pauline and Sam Brown of TN and Barbara and Bob Strange of Turner; 22 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; his mother, Florence Bone of Midland; a brother, John Callahan of Skidway Lake and a sister, Bernice Bartley of Midland. He was predeceased by his father, Fred and a brother, Don Callahan. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2000 at 11 A.M. from Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home with Rev. W. George Harrison (Peck) Snyder of Whittemore passed away Sunday, February 6, 2000 at the Tawas St. Joseph Hospital. He was born to Henry and Rhoda (Viele) Snyder on July 16, 1916 in Turner, MI. George was a veteran of WWII. He married Verna O'Farrell on December 8, 1935; they owned and operated the Whittemore Telephone Co. out of their home until 1954. He worked for National Gypsum Co. for 40 years, owned the Motorcycle Sales and Repair Shop in Whittemore and was one of the original members and drivers of the Whittemore Speedway. He was a member of the Whittemore Mason's Lodge 471. George is survived by his daughter, Johanne (Robert) Grabow of East Tawas; granddaughter, Lori (Brian) Martin of Auburn; grandson, Jay (Christine) Grabow of Royal Oak; great-grandchildren: Devon and Brent Martin, Alexander Grabow; a special nephew, Gene (Delores) Burnside of Palmetto, FL; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Vera, on January 25, 1994 and a sister, Jane Burnside. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 9, 2000 at the Forshee Funeral Home in Twining with intermenty at the Saints Cemetery in Whittemore. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 P.M. Mr. Tomlinson died Saturday, February 5, 2000 at his home, age 78 years. He was born December 17, 1921 in Bay City where he has lived all of his life. He married the former Joan Baxter January 31, 1953; she predeceased him December 20, 1989. Mr. Tomlinson served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from Dow Chemical Company as a chemist. Surviving are two daughters, one son and a step-son: Marcia Marie Kirchman, Laura Margaret Tomlinson, John Thomas Tomlinson and Dennis Floyd Kaczynski; two grandchildren: Heith Michael and Carrie Marie Webster; two great-grandsons: Tyler John Webster and Jacob Spencer. He was predeceased by a daughter, Joni Catherine Tomlinson. Funeral Service will take place Wednesday, February 9, 2000 at 1 P.M. from the Squires Funeral Home. Rev. Fr. Charles L.
