Erhardt H. Rogner, age 83, of Reese, died early Friday morning, February 18, 2000 at the Frankenmuth Convalescent Home. He was born on December 5, 1916, son of the late William and Katherine (Braun) Rogner. Erhardt married the former Helen Caroline Daenzer on January 1, 1939 in Frankenmuth. Surviving in addition to his wife, Helen, of 61 years, are his four children and their spouses and four grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Rogner will take place at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 21, 2000 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 9940 Saginaw Street in Reese. Pastor Timothy L. Bender of Grace Lutheran Church of Vassar will officiate with burial in Denmark Township Cemetery. Erhardt's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-8 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Alma Elaine Fogelsonger, age 83 years, passed away Friday afternoon, February 18, 2000, at the Heartland Health Care Center, following a lingering illness. She was born in Bay City on June 5, 1916. Mrs. Fogelsonger was a lifelong resident of Bay City. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. The former Alma Schmitz was married to James Orlando Fogelsonger. He preceded her in death. Surviving are two children, James R. (Paulette) Fogelsonger of Bay City, Carol (Ben) Rothfuss- Hotchkiss of Essexville; eight grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; a sister, Joan (Clayton) Girard of Bay City; several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday afternoon at 12 o'clock from Stapish West. Rev. Leslie Tyvela of Immanuel Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. God, in his infinite wisdom and mercy and with his perfect timing, stretched out his arms and wrapped Monica in his everlasting love to forever walk with Jesus. Monica, age 87 years, passed away Saturday morning, February 19, 2000 in the Carriage House of Bay City after a short illness. She was born on June 9, 1912 to William and Johanna Trombly, direct descendants of the original settlers of Bay City. Monica attended St. James High School, where she graduated in the class of 1930. She spent the next three years at St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Mt. Clemens, MI, where she met her future husband. In 1933 she married Harry Joseph Krantz in St. James Church, and he preceded her in death on October 4, 1974. Monica was a member of Holy Trinity Church for over 60 years, an organist there for 10 years, and a member of its Altar Society. She was a member of the Bay Medical Auxiliary, the League of Catholic Women and Men, Daughters of Isabella, and the St. Anne Society. Monica was also a member of the YWCA and on the Youth Committee for several years. At age 64, Monica returned to college as a Golden Age Student at Delta College for 10 years. She enjoyed her classes in photography, where she perfected her avid hobby. She became a housemother for college nursing students for over 10 years. Monica's number one priority was her family. Left to celebrate and reflect on their loving mother are five daughters and four sons: Mrs. Kathleen (Gilbert) Hall of Flushing, Ms. Patricia Wald of Bay City, Mrs. Marilyn (Eugene) Robinson of Durand, Mrs. Elizabeth (Allen) Jones of Ocala, Florida, Mrs. Gerry (Scott) Ostrander of Bay City, Joseph (Karen) Krantz of Bay City, Richard (Bernadette) Krantz of Bay City, Kenneth (Janice) Krantz of Orange Park, Florida, and James (Margaret) Krantz of Orlando, FLorida; 28 grandchildren; 38 great- grandchildren; and two great- great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Kathleen Vanderberg of Bay City. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and three siblings. The family would like to thank the staff of the Carriage House for their loving care while Monica was a resident there for 3 years. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, February 22, 2000 at 1:00 P.M. in Holy Trinity Church. Monica will lie in state in church Tuesday after 12:00 P.M. Rev. Leonard F. Wilkuski will preside and intermenty will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. The Vigil Prayer Service will be Monday evening at 8:00 P.M. in the Trahan Chapel. Memorial contributions may be directed to Holy Trinity Parish or the Bay Catholic Education Foundation. Charlotte M. Bergstrom passed away February 17, 2000 at the age of 102 years and nine months. She was born on May 5, 1897 in Alpena, Michigan to the late Alfred and Ida Jermin. She had been a resident of Bay City since her marriage to John J. Bergstrom on May 8, 1919. He passed away on October 13, 1956. Both John and Charlotte were active members of Trinity Episcopal Church. During Charlotte's long life, she was active in various church organizations and civic groups. Mrs. Bergstrom is survived by her niece, Betty Sellers Fiedler and her husband, Edward, of Midland. She was preceded in death by her five siblings. Funeral Service will be on Friday at 4:00 P.M. at Trinity Episcopal Church. Rev. Fr. Peter M. Cominos will officiate and private burial will take place on Saturday in Elm Lawn Cemetery.
