Nellie Zimonich
Member of Disciples for Christ Church
Nellie J. Zimonich, 70, of Spring Lake died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
She was born Oct. 27, 1931 to John F. and Nellie (Richardson) Hieftje in Grand Haven, and married Charles Zimonich on May 1, 1954 in Grand Rapids. He preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 1984.
Mrs. Zimonich had been a lifelong area resident and was a member of Disciples for Christ Church. Her interests included cooking, baking and attending church.
Survivors include her four daughters: Denise (Bruce) Woldring of Holland, and Lou Ann (Doyle) Reed, Laurie (Terry) Brown and Karen (Brian) Costley, all of Zeeland; two sons, Mark (Brenda) Zimonich of Zeeland and Shawn Zimonich of Spring Lake; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her sister, Carol (Frank) Nerad of Grand Haven; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marion, and brothers Fred and Jim Hieftje.
Arrangements are being handled by VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home of Spring Lake.
A funeral service for Mrs. Zimonich will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Disciples for Christ Church, 14211 120th Ave., Grand Haven, with Reverends Tim and Gail Jones officiating. Friends may meet the family from 7-9 p.m. Thursday evening at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake. Interment will be in Olive Center Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Disciples for Christ Church or American Heart & Lung Association.

Izena Clark
BENTON HARBOR - Izena Clark, 42, of Benton Harbor died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at McCoy Memorial Temple Church of God in Christ, Benton Harbor. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor. Robbins Brothers Funeral Home, Benton Harbor, is in charge of arrangements.
Izena was born Sept. 15, 1957, in Benton Harbor.
Survivors include: her mother, Minnie Lue Clark of Benton Harbor; a daughter, Carmony L. Clark of Benton Harbor; five sisters - Mildred (Otis) Wilburn and Victoria (Christopher) Clark Odum, both of Virginia Beach, Va., Mary L. Glaspy, Gloria (Harry) Clark Caldwell and Rochell McAfee, all of Benton Harbor; and four brothers - Calvin (Crystal) V. Clark, Terrone D. Clark, Donald Ray McAfee and Adam Clark of Virginia Beach.
Bonnie Beth Erb
COLOMA - Bonnie Beth Erb, 55, of Coloma died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Community Hospital, Watervliet.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church of Hartford, with Pastor Edgar Kent officiating. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford.
Bonnie was born Oct. 6, 1944, in Watervliet, the daughter of Cecil and Mary (West) James.
She is survived by her husband, David, whom she married on April 16, 1992; five sons - Terry Tarver, Gary Tarver, Micheal Tarver, Jesse Andrade and Stephen Erb; two daughters - Larina Kent and Mary Kammeraad; nine grandchildren; her parents, Cecil James and Mary Vinson.
Jules Alan Nace
HUDSON LAKE, Ind. - Jules Alan Nace, 45, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Hudson Lake, Ind., died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, in Tampa, as a result of an automobile/pedestrian accident.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. (central standard time) at Springville Free Methodist Church in Springville, Ind., with Pastor Tom Brown officiating. Essling Funeral Home, 117 Indiana Ave., LaPorte, is in charge of local arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Springville Free Methodist Church.
Mr. Nace was born July 14, 1954, in LaPorte, Ind., to LeRoy F. and Rose J. (Rossner) Nace, and grew up in Hudson Lake. He attended New Prairie High School. In 1974, he married Nancy Fitzgerald.
He is survived by his second wife, Donna (Vanderford) Nace of Tampa, whom he married in September 1999; a son, Richard Nace of South Bend, Ind.; a daughter, Heather Nace of Adrian, Mich.; his parents, LeRoy and Rose Nace of LaPorte; a granddaughter, Anna Nace; a brother, LeRoy Nace; and three sisters - Marcy Hicks of LaPorte, Jeanine Gropp of New Buffalo and Darlene Nace of LaPorte.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Mary Lanier.
Wilma M. Phillips
ST. JOSEPH - Wilma M. Phillips, 77, of St. Joseph, died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at home.
She was born Aug. 3, 1922, in Benton Harbor and was a retired office worker.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 8, at North Shore Memory Gardens, Hagar Shores. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are by the Dey-Florin Chapel, Florin Funeral Service, St. Joseph.
She is survived by her husband, Howard.
Dorothy (Wood) Dunbar
ST. JOSEPH - Dorothy (Wood) Dunbar, 94, died June 11, 2000, at her residence in the Whitcomb Tower, St. Joseph.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, at the Whitcomb Tower, St. Joseph. Cremation has taken place.
Ms. Dunbar was born Dec. 4, 1905, in Union Grove, Wis., to Frank W. and Lydia C. Dunbar. She moved with her parents two years later to Benton Harbor. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School and majored in business education at the University of Wisconsin. Ms. Dunbar taught in the Milwaukee school system for one year. She then joined the St. Joseph School family where she taught until her retirement in 1965. Aside from being active in many school activities, she enjoyed traveling, and spent 40 years doing so. She visited most of the United States including Alaska and Hawaii, and many European countries. She was also an active member of the First Church of Christ Scientist and Reading Room in Benton Harbor.
She is survived by a brother, Winsor of Elk Rapids, Mich.; two nephews - Lawrence Dunbar and family of Elk Rapids, and Richard J. Dunbar and family of Gaylord, Mich.
Ms. Dunbar was preceded in death by her parents.
Shirley Schroeder
NEW BUFFALO - Shirley Schroeder, 64, of New Buffalo died at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Kerley & Starks-Smith Funeral Home, New Buffalo, with the Rev. Brad Bartelmay officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stevensville.
Mrs. Schroeder was born Feb. 11, 1936, in Galien to Russell and Florence (Gable) James, who are both deceased.
Mrs. Schroeder was employed in retail as a cashier. She graduated from New Buffalo High School in 1955. Her passion in life were her family and friends. She also enjoyed motorcycling and camping.
On June 30, 1956, she married Ronald Leon Schroeder, in Three Oaks. He survives along with two sons - Ronny (Julie) Schroeder of Three Oaks and Jeff (Toni) Schroeder of New Buffalo; a daughter, Kelly (Jeff) Kliss of New Buffalo; grandchildren - Jeremy Schroeder and Courtney and Conner Kliss, all of New Buffalo; brothers - Gordon (Carol) James, Richard (Marcella) James, Raymond (Jean) James, all of New Buffalo, and Terry James of Three Oaks; sisters - Barbara Bolton of Three Oaks, Joanne (James) Motycka and Sharon Motycka, all of New Buffalo, and Judy (Richard) Bohne of Lakeside, Mich.
Louise M. Williams
ST. JOSEPH - Louise M. Williams, 90, of St. Joseph, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at her residence in St. Joseph.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph. Visitation will take place from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Dey-Florin Chapel, Florin Funeral Service, St. Joseph, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home, Stevensville.
Mrs. Williams was born July 24, 1910, in Milan, Mo., and had lived in our community for 60 years. She retired from Modern Plastics in 1980, after 27 years as a receptionist. Mrs. Williams was a member of St. John's-St. Bernard's Parish, St. John's Altar Society and Modern Plastics-Old Timers.
Survivors include her sons - Charles R. Williams and John E. (Adele) Williams, both of St. Joseph, a brother, Joseph McCarty of Milan, Mo.; and two grandchildren - John E. Williams of Falmouth, Mass., and Jeffrey R. Williams of San Diego. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Ned R. Williams, in 1968.
