Dora Moll
Dora E. Moll, 81, of Grand Haven died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, at a local hospital.
She was born May 26, 1920 to August and Anna (Wax) Kruesler in Chicago, Ill.; and married Donald Moll on Sept. 21, 1946 in Chicago.
Mrs. Moll has been an area resident since 1946 and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She formerly attended Hope Reformed Church where she assisted the choir and played the piano.
Mrs. Moll was a former Brownie and Cub Scout Leader, and had also been an Avon representative.
Her interests included bowling, reading, flowers and decorating her home for the holidays. She especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Donald; one daughter, Sandra Moll, Grand Rapids; one son, Wayne (Laura) Moll, Grand Haven; two grandchildren, Dannielle (Scott) Collins, West Olive and Jami Moll, Grand Haven; two great-grandchildren, Kaisey and Joel Collins; also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mabel Losby in 1999, and by her nephew, Bruce Losby.
Arrangements are being handled by VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad of Grand Haven.
A memorial service for Mrs. Moll will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Phillip Baerwolf officiating. Private interment in Robinson Township Cemetery. Friends may meet the family at church one hour prior to the service and following the service. Memorials may be made to North Ottawa Home Health Care or St. John's Lutheran Church.
Patricia Ann Connoll
Patricia Connolly, age 50, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001 at home after a valiant battle with cancer.
Survivors include husband, William, daughter Kristin Connolly of Grand Haven, two sons Gerald (Jackie) Hallberg Jr. of Muskegon and Jonathon Hallberg of Scottville, a granddaughter and a grandson. Her mother June Hornacek of Ravenna, four brothers Mike, Frank (Dee) and Tim Hornacek all of Ravenna, and John (Sue) Hornacek of Coopersville. One sister Susan (Russ) Jackson of Calif. Several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at United Lutheran Church, 15424 Lake Michigan Dr., West Olive with Rev. Cleo Ludwick officiating. Burial will be at St. Catherine Cemetery, Ravenna. Visitation will be Tuesday 7-9 p.m. at Throop Funeral Home, Ravenna and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church. Memorials to Hospice of North Ottawa.

Dorothy Hogan
Dorothy M. Hogan 82, of Venice, Fla., died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001.
She was born May 5, 1919 in Grand Haven, Mich. and came to Venice in 1977 from there. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include daughters Charlene and Carol, both of Venice, and a brother, Kenneth Arkema of Grand Haven.
Alberta Colcord
Alberta L. Colcord, 85, lifelong resident of Robinson Township, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 6, 2001, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born Sept. 27, 1916 to Albert F. and Martha (Vigansky) Heyn in Grand Haven and married Herman Colcord, who preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1992.
Mrs. Colcord attended Clark School, worked for Camfield Manufacturing and Eagle Ottawa Leather Co., and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cribbage and pinochle, gardening, sewing, collecting and crocheting. She wintered in Bradenton, Fla.
Mrs. Colcord is survived by her daughter, Carol Coates of Midland; a son, William (Kathleen) Colcord of Grand Rapids; four grandchildren: James (Michele) Coates and Susan Coates of Denver, Colo., Scott Colcord of Ann Arbor, and Cheri (Mike) Cornell of Grand Rapids; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Margot Thomas of Grand Rapids and Doras Kropf of Whitehall. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Inga Mae, and two brothers, Robert and Ferdinand "Ferdie."

Jack Van Hall
Jack Robert VanHall, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001.
He was born in Spring Lake on June 18, 1923 to Arthur and Katherine VanHall. On April 12, 1946 he married Lois DeWitt at Second Reformed Church.
Mr. Van Hall was employed by Grand Haven Brass Foundry for 47 years, then worked for the Grand Haven Public Schools for five years, and was a Tribune route driver for three years. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Second Reformed Church, where he served as an elder and deacon, sang in the choir and served on many committees. Mr. VanHall enjoyed camping and traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Lois; three sons: Denny (Donna) VanHall, Ted (Lori) VanHall and Pete VanHall; one daughter, Pat (Ed) Wessel; nine grandchildren: Brad, Corey, Amy, Megan, Kaylin and Ian VanHall, Bob (Joanna) Wessel, Kari (Rich) Veenstra and Courtney Wessel; five great-grandchildren: Zachary Elija, Gabriel Wessel, Ethan and Lexi Veenstra; three brothers: Art (Jo) VanHall, Henry (Lily) VanHall and Chuck (Marilyn) VanHall; two sisters, Beatrice Pauwee and Barb (Lyle) Wildey; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Aubrey and Margaret Goldman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie (Les) Bunker.

Betty DuBois
Betty Jane DuBois, 78, of Grand Haven died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001 at Shorehaven Living Center.
She was born in Grand Haven on Jan. 3, 1923 to William and Selma (Burkhart) Robinson. On Feb. 12, 1944 she married Arthur DuBois and he preceded her in death in 1998.
Mrs. DuBois had been employed as a producton worker at Wobble Wheels Rocking Shop. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and enjoyed woodworking and making children's toys, arts and crafts shows, and her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Arthur (Linda) DuBois, Selmer, Tenn.; Jeffery (Debra) DuBois, Nunica; one daughter, Sharyn Parris, Ore City, Texas; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack (Nita) Robinson, Alabama; Bruce (Jackie) Robinson, Muskegon. Besides her husband Mrs. DuBois was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marion Whelphy in 1976.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Clock Funeral Home of Grand Haven.
The funeral service for Mrs. Betty Jane DuBois will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001 at Clock Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Baerwolf officiating. Interment will be at Allendale Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

James Pfeiffer, 57, died in his home in Fruitport on Saturday, July 19, 2003.
He was born on Jan. 12, 1946, in Fruitport to Ned and Ione (Stark) Pfeiffer.
He is survived by his son, Donald Curt Pfeiffer of Howell; his sister, Doris (Gary) VandenBrand of West Olive; his brothers, Donald (Marge) Pfeiffer of Spring Lake, Stanley (Sandra) Pfeiffer of Fremont, William (Brenda) Pfeiffer of Muskegon; three sisters-in-law, Carol Pfeiffer of Brandon, Fla., Marie Pfeiffer of Grand Haven and Fran Pfeiffer of Chino, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Ione Pfeiffer, and his brothers, Douglas Pfeiffer, Harley Pfeiffer and Jack Pfeiffer.
Arrangements are being handled by Crandell Funeral Home of Fremont.

Hazel Anderson
Worked with Child Evangelism International
Hazel Rae Anderson, 95, of Grand Haven (formerly of Plainwell), died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at a local care facility in Grand Haven.
She was born Jan. 3, 1908, in Indiana to Charles and Florence (Stafford) Ellsworth and was preceded in death by her husbands, Leo D. Lyle and Gus Anderson.
She had worked as co-director with her first husband doing child evangelism with Child Evangelism International. She was a former member of Moody Church in Chicago.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Barton of San Jacinto, Calif. and four sons: Gerald (Eugenia) Lyle of Richland, Gordon (Joy) Lyle of Raymond, Miss., Jonathan (Brit) Lyle of Ringveien, Norway and David (Veada) Lyle of Schererville, Ind.; also 24 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth McGuire, and a sister Helen Fitzsimons.

A funeral service for Mrs. Anderson will be held Wednesday 2:30 p.m. at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Chapel with Rev. Jerry Postema officiating. Friends are invited to meet the family one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Cuddeback Cemetery in Paw Paw, Mich. Memorials to Moody Church of Chicago are appreciated.
