Linda Kay Zandarski
April 25, 1956 - November 7, 2011

Linda Kay Zandarski was born on April 25, 1956 to Roslyn (Duffield) and Ralph Hansen at Watervliet Community Hospital. As a child Linda stood out as a driven individual. She was an accomplished member of the 4-H Club, tending her little sheep to the blue ribbon prize. She continued this drive to Coloma High School and through graduation in 1974. Driven would be a permanent part of her character. On June 3rd, 1978 she married the true love of her life, Daniel Zandarski. Oh, and what a road it would prove to be. They started together traveling on their honeymoon through the beauty of Yellow Stone National Park. She was a devoted loving wife and was pleased she had found a true lifelong partner in Dan.

In 1981 she discovers a new found passion, the joys of parenting and the love for children. By 1986 she will have had two more kids, and become quite the dedicated, loving mother of three while still making time for her husband who would suggest having a dozen. She would settle for nothing less than the best for her family, and she had the gears of drive to pull it off. If she had a goal in mind she would never accept “No” as an answer. Negativity was not an option. She had realized her calling as mom and had already started a day care for other children, as her heart had so much love to give.

She truly enjoyed all the seasons her Michigan home had to offer, especially the holidays. From snowmobiling in the frigid winter to beach lounging by a lake in the blistering summer sun. She loved to play with her kids and especially her grandchildren in the sand, building memories for their future. It was the fall time hay rides and the spring time events that gave her those special opportunities to nurture her relationships with friends and family. She enjoyed traveling and camping with them and surrounded herself daily with the ones she loved through thick and thin, good times and bad. These are the things that brought her joy.

Linda had a boisterous personality, a loving attitude, and a contagious smile. Her eyes could say a lot, especially in those rare moments when her lips where not, as she loved to talk. You couldn’t help but feel the light as she entered a room for she had a special glow that would warmthin your soul.

As her children grew one by one, they took flight finding companions to bring back home. Before she knew it her three had become six, and her six had become twelve. She had become a grandmother, a grandmother whose name was known as Nani. Her heart was full of joy. She would give nothing short of 100% to nurture all their needs, and her need was to nurture them!

Linda was a hard women to hold down, and was always on the move, and it showed with her many talents and activities. She had run a daycare for 16 years. That in itself made her a mother to many in our community. She then moved on to the Whirlpool Corporation where she worked for 14 years as a customer care expert on the employee and V.I.P. teams. All the while keeping several side jobs like catering, custom cleaning, event coordinating, Mary Kay consulting and running her fruit stand. She had worked enough hours in her 55 years here on earth to retire four times over. It was her custom of long days and hard worked nights that drove her to be such a successful human being, mother, wife, and a sister.

On the evening of November 7th, 2011 while at work, Linda had passed away. Throughout her years, her heart had given so much to others it had finally taken a break. Her time here was cherished by all who knew her. She was a true light that will be missed, and a memory that will never be forgotten.
