Jacquelyn M. Webb
SOUTH HAVEN - Jacquelyn M. Webb, 78, of South Haven died Monday, April 27, 2009, at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
She was born June 23, 1930, in South Haven to Joseph and Bessie (Kendall) Baker. Jackie worked as a waitress and bartender at the Lions Den, North Lake Inn, Broadway Lanes and Lakeside Lanes/Red Carpet. She also worked as a grocery store attendant at Maple Street Grocery and Food Town. Jacquelyn loved to play Bingo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, William G. Webb who died in 1968; daughter, Linda A. Miller in 2003; three sisters, Nora Covey, Ruth Wickham and Delores Struble; four brothers, Frank Covey, Bernard Covey, Dan Covey and Jack Baker; and one special uncle, James Kendall.
She is survived by one son, Greg (Mary) Webb of South Haven; four grandchildren - William Gerald (Terri) Webb, Russell Gregory Webb, Lisa Miller and Tony Miller; two great-grandchildren - Ethan Gregory Webb and Brittlyn Tyler; one brother, Clifford (Vivian) Baker of Northville, Mich.; several nieces and nephews; many friends; and one special friend - Lois Moret of South Haven.

Rose C. Galeno
COLOMA - Rose C. Galeno, 86, of Coloma died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, April 27, 2009, at Community Hospital, Watervliet.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma. Memorial donations in memory of Rose may be made to the Funeral Luncheon Committee at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rose was born Feb. 18, 1923, in Coloma to Sam and Grace (Figlia) Galeno.
She is survived by six nieces and nephews, Pete (Marge) Mannino Jr. of Watervliet, Sam (Carol) Mannino of Coloma, Fred (Karen) Mannino of Coloma, Grace (Glen) Daisy of Lawrence, Bob (Pam) Adams of Coloma and Carol (Jim) Vitale of Coloma.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters, Mamie (Pete) Mannino, Beatrice Galeno, Kathern Manzella, Angeline (Bob) Adams; and one niece, Prudence Mannino Brumitt.
Rosie was a special person who touched many lives. She will be truly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Genevieve Agnes Farrell
SOUTH HAVEN - Genevieve Agnes Farrell, 93, of South Haven died peacefully at home Monday evening, April 27, 2009. She was born Jan. 3, 1916, in Chicago to Charles and Allena (Winder) Farrell.
In 1921, her family moved to the farm in Casco Township. Upon graduating from South Haven High School in 1934, she was stricken with bacterial endocarditis, rendering her bed ridden for many years. Without the help of sulfur drugs, antibiotics, or penicillin, she beat all odds and survived through the miracle of prayer. She always looked for the good in people and enjoyed all things in nature, particularly her rose garden and the moonlit sky. She began a 40 year bookkeeping career at Fleming Brothers Oil Company by counting gas rationing stamps during World War II.
Genevieve was a tireless volunteer. She pushed the hospital's shoppers cart for the exercise and the social fellowship. She delivered mobile meals, visited the sick, and helped the grieving. She was a great baker and loved bringing her gifts to people. She was a friend to all and "Aunt Gen" to everyone. She was a lifelong member of St. Basil's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Charles, her sister, Beatrice, her nephews, Michael Farrell and Michael Osburn, and her nieces, Aleta Anne Kleinerman and Nicolette Allen.
She is survived by her nephews, Charles Donovan, Barry (Sue) Donovan, Michael Donovan, all of South Haven and Andrew Kleinerman of Santa Cruz, Calif. Nieces, Kathleen Osburn of Three Oaks and Louise (Bruce) Wilkens of Rifle, Colo. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home, South Haven. Funeral services will be Friday at St. Basil Catholic Church at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Father Robert Flickinger officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Basil Education Endowment Fund. Burial will take place in Lakeview Cemetery.
Terry Lynn King
ST. JOSEPH - The Lord decided he needed one more angel and called Terry Lynn King of Port Huron on April 24, 2009, home after a valiant battle with breast cancer. She passed away at home with her husband and son at her side.
Terry was born in Providence, R.I., Aug. 19, 1947, to Rena Davis and Ralph Dyer. Terry was employed for 22 years by INS and retired in 2005.
Terry is survived by her husband, Larry King, her son, Donnie Edwards, sisters, Mary Hotchkiss and Ginny Waterman, brothers, Peter Dyer and Chuck Dyer.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Dyer, her mother, Rena Pequignot, her grandmother, Mary Yendzejec, and her brother, Ralph Dyer Jr.
Terry requested no formal services as she had privately said her good-byes. She will be cremated and remain at home. Donations to Breast Cancer Research in lieu of flowers.
Paul Timothy Strefling
GALIEN - Paul Timothy Strefling, 19, of Eaton Rapids, Mich., formerly of the Galien area, died on April 19, 2009, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Lansing, Mich.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Dorr, Mich. Friends may call at the church on Friday, May 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epiphany Lutheran Church or to VFW "Paul's Project."
Paul was born on April 11, 1990, to Tim Strefling of Galien and Theresa Strefling of Hopkins. He attended Trinity Lutheran School, Sawyer, and was later confirmed at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Dorr. He graduated from Eaton Rapids High School and was presently a student at Lansing Community College.
Paul is survived by his parents; his sister, Marie of Eaton Rapids; his grandmother, Helen Strefling of Galien; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ray and Blanch Young; his uncle, Pastor Allen R. Strefling; and his paternal grandfather, Paul Strefling, who recently went to be with the Lord.
Paul was a caring young man who was especially protective of his sister, Marie. His organ donation was an example of his kindness that touched many lives. He will be dearly missed by all.
Terry Franklin Geisler
ST. JOSEPH - Terry Franklin Geisler was born to Lester and Shirley (Ott) Geisler on Oct. 3, 1951, in St. Joseph. He fell asleep in our Savior's loving arms at Lakeland Hospital on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the age of 57.
Terry was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stevensville. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Grade School and later graduated in 1969 from Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw. In 1973, he continued his education at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, and Dr. Martin Lutheran College in New Ulm, Minn., where he completed his bachelor of science degree in education. Upon graduation from college, he served as a Lutheran elementary teacher teaching and coaching at St. John's Lutheran School in Waterloo, Wis., for five years.
Terry married Sharon Sue Baumann on Aug. 5, 1973, in Grafton, Neb., and they were blessed with four children - Meggan, Stephanie, Trent and Phillip. Besides being a devoted husband and father, Terry has touched all those who knew him with his passionate opinions, strict adherence to his law, and his ability to always be right. During all of his years, he dedicated his free time to umpiring, refereeing, and anything else that let him be in charge. He worked diligently with the Michigan High School Athletic Association as an official and assignor for many area high schools. He umpired numerous regional and state final softball games and refereed many levels of girls and boys basketball games. Terry worked for Kent Vending, Russell Vending, and most recently for Kalamazoo Vending. Terry was a member of Grace Lutheran Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Terry is survived by his father and mother, Lester and Shirley Geisler of Stevensville; wife, Sharon Geisler of St. Joseph; sister, Nancy and husband Roger Rice of Toledo, Ohio; sister, Betsey Senecal of Traverse City, Mich.; brother, Lon Geisler and wife Tammy of Stevensville; daughter, Meggan and husband Jeff McMurtrie of Kalamazoo; daughter, Stephanie Geisler of St. Joseph; son, Trent and wife Teresa Geisler of Virginia Beach, Va.; son, Phillip Geisler of New York, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Laura, Dominic and Isabel; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The visitation for Terry will be held today, April 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Starks and Menchinger Funeral Home and the funeral is scheduled at Grace Lutheran Church on April 30 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Glen Rosenbaum presiding. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Any memorials may be donated to Grace Lutheran Church and School located at 404 East Glenlord Road, St. Joseph, Mich. 49085.
Jerry V. Clark
DECATUR - Jerry V. Clark, 72, of Decatur passed away at home on April 25, 2009, from pancreatic cancer. Arrangements have been entrusted with Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral of St. Joseph.
Jerry was born in Bay City, Mich., on Nov. 22, 1936, to Vernon and Vera (Ferguson) Clark. He was raised in Laingsburg, Mich., where he graduated from high school in 1954. Jerry still holds the Laingsburg High School record for the most points scored in a basketball game. He also pitched two consecutive no-hitters for the school's baseball team. He retired as Detective Sergeant in 1988 from the Michigan State Police after serving 26 years. He served at several posts throughout Michigan, with the last in Benton Harbor. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and traveled from Mexico to Alaska in search of that next adventure.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sandra of Decatur; daughters, Karen Hayter of Kalamazoo and Lorrie (Jack) Biegalski of Winfield, Ill.; a son, Patrick (Patti) Clark of St. Joseph; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two Labrador fur friends, Jasmine and Jeff.
Visitation is at the Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home in St. Joseph on Tuesday, April 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. The Celebration of Life Service will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Laingsburg on Wednesday, April 29. At 11 a.m. Jerry will be interred at the Laingsburg Cemetery following these services. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Tom Ferrigan, John Ferrigan, James Wrobel, and his grandsons, Michael Biegalski, Matthew Biegalski and Michael Hayter. Honorary pallbearer will be Aaron Clark. Memorials may be made to the National Rifle Association or to the Salvation Army.
Judy Mae Schaus
DOWAGIAC - Judy's life began on Nov. 18, 1943, in Benton Harbor, the daughter of James and Mitzie Woods. She was united in marriage to Darrel L. Schaus on Nov. 14, 1964, in Benton Heights. She was a faith-filled member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Dowagiac. Judy enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, doing crafts and playing cards.
Her loving family includes her husband, Darrel of Dowagiac; children, Carol Schaus of Dowagiac, Cathy ( Robert) Williams of Stevensville and stepson, Darrel Schaus Jr. of Coloma; two grandsons, Cameron and Dylan; and members of her church family.
Judy went to be with her Lord on Saturday April 25, 2009, from her home in Dowagiac. She was preceded in death by a son, JohnDee Schaus, and two brothers, Robert and Terry Woods.
Her family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Dowagiac, where her service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m., led by her pastor Pastor David Helmuth. She will be laid to rest in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Sodus. Memorial contributions may be directed to Borgess VNA/Hospice or the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Grand Rapids.
