Age 57 of Durand, Michigan died Saturday, June 01, 2002 at Memorial Health Care Center in Owosso, Michigan. He worked in the Studies of Theology.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday morning June 4, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Bible Church in Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the church. Pastor Kenneth McGee will officiate.
Ernest was born March 9, 1945 in Jackson, Michigan. He graduated from Parma-Western High School in Parma, Michigan. On June 12, 1965 he and Louise Walton were married in Spring Harbor, Michigan. He was a former member of Community of Christ Church in Owosso and is a member of Grace Bible Church of Owosso.
Survivors are, his wife Louise Wilkinson of Durand, 1 daughter, Michelle & Kevin Clark of Corunna, 1 son, Michael & Cindy Wilkinson of Muskegon, 7 grandchildren, 1 sister, Yvonne & Denver Adkins, of Ohio, sister in law, Peggy & Chuck Spring, of Corunna. Carl H. Hale
Age 88 of St. Louis, Michigan died Friday, May 31, 2002 at Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma, Michigan. He was employed by Alma Products for almost 25 years, retiring in 1978. He also farmed most of his life.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Alward-Carter Chapel, St. Louis. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 P.M. and Monday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Mr. Keith Wise will officiate.
Carl was born September 30, 1913 in Midland County, the son of Henry & Mary ( Davidson ) Hale. He attended St. Louis Schools. On January 27, 1935 he married Rebecca Haney in Ithaca, Michigan, Rebecca died June 8, 1999. Carl resided most of his life in the St. Louis area and he loved to fish and deer hunt, and spend time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include 3 sons, James F. Hale of St. Louis, Romaine C. & Rebecca Hale of St. Louis, Lyle E. & Charlene Hale of St. Louis, 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, 1 brother, Harold, 1 sister, Dorothy Kretzshmar, 1 stepsister Dorothy McNabb. Memorials can be made to the St. Louis Public Schools or a Charity of the donor’s choice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, Michigan.
Charles J. Kridner
Age 90 of Elsie, Michigan passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at Carson City Hospital in Carson City. He was a retired Farmer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Elsie United Methodist Church in Elsie Michigan. Rev. Merlin Pratt will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Elsie. A Masonic Service will be held Friday evening at 6:00. An Eastern Star Service will follow at 6:30 P.m. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 P.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.m.
Charles was born on January 3, 1912 in Worthington, Minnesota the son of George W. & O’lena (Jensen) Kridner. He graduated from Elsie High School with the Class of 1930. On June 1, 1935 he married Thelma Peterson in Rochester Colony, Michigan. Charles was a Member of Elsie United Methodist Church since 1928. He was a Charter Member of United Methodist Men. He was also a Member of the Holstein Friesian Association and the D.H.I.A. Board. He served on the Ovid-Elsie School Board for 18 ˝ years and Fox School #6 for 4 years. He was the President of the Elsie Historical Society and a Member of Farm Bureau. He was a Member Elsie Masonic Lodge #238 and Elsie Chapter #69 OES. Charles resided most of his life in Elsie. He is survived by his wife Thelma Kridner of Elsie, 3 daughters, Nancy (Floyd) Koerner of Laingsburg, Audrey (Carter) Crompton of Clio, Charlene Austin of Laingsburg, Grandchildren, Floyd (Lisa) Koerner, Dawn (Alan) Stroup, George (Michelle) Koerner, Katie (Rick) Birmingham, Carter (Jennifer) Crompton, Susan Crompton & Fiancé’ Matt Rafferty, Allison (Doug) Smith, Amy (Bob) Morton, Theresa (Ray) Cross, Carmelita (Sean) Gordon, great grandchildren, Chris, Amy & Tracey Koerner, Caleb, Sarah & Hannah Stroup, Jason, Shanon & Scott Koerner, Emily & Kyle Birmingham, Carter III & Seth Crompton, Mason, Chase & Jacob Smith, Alexis & Logan Morton, Joshua & Justin Cross, William & Austin Gordon, great-great granddaughter, Danielle Koerner, 1 brother, George (Lee) Kridner of California, sisters-in-law, Doreen Kridner of Elsie, Flo Kridner of Florida and Betty Bair of Florida.
