Carl D. Padgett
Age 80 of St. Johns, Michigan passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at Memorial Healthcare Center in Owosso, Michigan. He was a retired Machinist.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 11:00 A.m. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel. Rev. Jana Jirak will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11-9 P.M. with the family present from 1-3 & 7-9 P.m.
Carl was born on April 2, 1922 in St. Johns, Michigan the son of Glen & Neva (Esther) Padgett. On February 10, 1943 he married Charlene Fleck in St. Johns, Michigan. She passed away in 1976. He served his Country in the US Navy in WWII. Carl was a Member of American Legion Post #153 in St. Johns, and he was also a Member of the Fowler VFW Post #3733. He enjoyed hunting and trap & skeet shooting. He resided most of his life in St. Johns. He is survived by 2 daughters, Margaret & Bruce Hyler of St. Johns, Jeanne & Neil Yeomans of Higgans Lake, 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Shirley Bailey of Bud Lake, Mary Lou Joonase of Canada, 1 brother, R.V. Padgett of St. Johns and very good friend, Mary Prochazka of St. Johns.

F. Jean Wolfe
Age 80 of Ashley, Michigan passed away Sunday, May 26, 2002 at Carson City Hospital in Carson City. She was a homemaker and Former Administrator at Maple Valley Nursing Home for 22 years.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 11:00 A.m. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Rev. David Ford will officiate with burial at Collier Cemetery, Washington Township, Michigan. Visitation will be Tuesday 7-9 and Wednesday 2-9 with the family present from 2-4 and 7-9 P.m.
F. Jean was born on March 26, 1922 in Brant, Michigan, the daughter of Harry D. & Edith (Yoemons) Moore. She graduated from Owosso College. On December 31, 1940 she married Reno Wolfe in Chesaning, Michigan. She was a member of Ashley Wesleyan Church and was a volunteer for the Red Cross and Carson City Hospital. She resided most of her life in the Ashley area.
She is survived by her husband, Reno Wolfe of Ashley, 2 daughters, Shirley & Bill Kellogg of Owosso, and Kathryn & Marshall Morris of Ashley, 1 son, Carl & Marilyn Wolfe of Ashley, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Norman Moore of Chesaning, and Glen Moore of Mobile, AL. She was predeceased by her parents, 2 sisters, and 4 brothers.

Ralph O. "Bud" Blattner
Age 74 of Owosso, Michigan passed away Sunday, May 26, 2002 at Memorial Healthcare Center in Owosso. He was employed by and a close friend of Dave Stechschulte.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at 11:00 A.m. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday 9:00 A.m. until the time of the service.
Ralph was born in Concord, Michigan on July 26, 1927, the son of Ralph & Irene (Rowlison) Blattner. He attended Concord High School. He was married to Wanda Reynolds. He was past member of the Lion’s Club and resided most of his life in St. Louis and Owosso, Michigan.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Blattner of Owosso, 3 sons, Roger & Charlene Huss of Eagle, Mark Huss of Matherton, and Bruce & Arlyn Blattner of Concord, 1 daughter, Val & Terry Johnson of Ovid, 10 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Joyce Brewster & Margaret Day, and 1 brother, Chuck Blattner. He was predeceased by his parents.

Elizabeth Capen
Age 89 of St. Johns, Michigan passed away Friday, May 24, 2002 at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at 2:00 P.m. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel. Pastor Virginia Wickwire will officiate with burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery in St. Johns. Visitation will be Sunday 4-8 and Monday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
Elizabeth was born on August 11, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth (Layda) Moshe. She attended country schools in Clinton County. On May 21, 1948 she married Glen Capen in Indiana. He passed away in 1969. Anna was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing & crocheting. She was past member of Elsie OES and resided most of her life in the St. Johns and Elsie areas.
She is survived by five sisters, Ann & Harold Martin of Dewitt, Emily & Fred Sykora of St. Johns, Sue Smeltzer of Middleton, Judy Skea of St. Johns, and June Toth of St. Johns, also eight nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband.
