Lillian Sawyer
Age 85 of Licking, Missouri, formerly of Elsie passed away Sunday, September 24, 2000 at the Houston House in Missouri.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 28, 2000 at 10:00 A.m. at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church in Bannister with Rev. Fr. Paul Cummings officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be at Smith Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel, Wednesday 2-9 with the family present from 2-4 and 7-9 P.m.
Lillian was born in Ovid, Michigan, March 27, 1915 the daughter of Floyd & Ida (McIntosh) Mead. She graduated from Elsie High School in 1933. She married Mike Sawyer in 1940 in Angola, Indiana. He passed away in 1982. She resided most of her life in the Elsie area, before moving to Missouri 8 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Cyril’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include one son; Mike & Susanne Sawyer of Licking, MO, six grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, and one brother, Elmer Mead of Bath, MI. She was predeceased by her parents, one son, Pete, two brothers and one sister. Memorials may be made to St. Cyril’s Catholic Church.

Dorothea H. Drew
Age 92 of Elsie died Tuesday, September 19, 2000 at The Laurels Of Fulton Nursing Home in Perrinton, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 22, 2000 at 1:00 P.M. at Rochester Colony United Methodist Church in Duplain Township, Michigan. Dorothea’s family will officiate and burial will take place in Duplain Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church at 11:00 A.m. until the time of the service.
She was born in Maple Rapids, Michigan on October 23, 1907, the daughter of George and Anne (Lake) Heibeck. She graduated from Ovid High School with the class of 1925. On August 13, 1936 she married Warren Drew in Michigan City, Indiana. He died in 1985. She was a member of the Rochester Colony United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and lived in Rochester Colony area most of her life.
Survivors include two daughters; Rachel & Bob Houska of Elsie, Diane Drew Vitek of Edmore, one son; Warren Drew of Kalamazoo, 14 grandchildren and 22 Great grandchildren, one sister, Agatha Robinson, and one niece Beverly Murrey both of Duluth, MN. She was predeceased by one son (infancy), Robert Warren Drew, Daughter-in-Law, Norma, and Grandson, Robert Drew.

Catalina G. Santana
Age 88 of St. Louis, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2000 at her home.
She was retired from Swifts Packing Company and was a homemaker.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 22, 2000 at 11:00 A.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Louis. Rev. Fr. Craig Albrecht will officiate. Burial will take place at Chapel Garden Cemetery, Elwell, Michigan. Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday 7-9 and Thursday 2-9, with the family present from 2-4 and 7-9 P.m. A Scripture Service will be Thursday evening at 7:00 P.m.
Catalina was born in San Marcos, Zacateas, Mexico on February 13, 1912, the daughter of Ponciano & Nieves (Aranda) Gonzalez. On May 13, 1939 she married Ben V. Santana in Sinton, Texas. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Louis. She loved to cook for her family and sewing. She resided the past 50 years in the St. Louis area.
Survivors include her husband, Ben Santana of St. Louis, 3 daughters; Jane & Willie Kozitzki, Leonor Castellon, and Maria Elena & Rudy Martinez, all of St. Louis, 2 sons, Phil & Chris Santana of Ithaca, and Joe Santana of Hemlock, 15 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren, 1 sister; Maria Gonzalez and 1 brother, Juan Gonzalez both of Mexico. She was predeceased by her parents, 2 sons; Ramon & Benito, 3 sisters, Emma, Julia, Cheva, and 3 brothers, Jesse, Alcardo, and Pablo.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
