Gertrude Harrier
Age 85 of St. Louis, Michigan passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at Schnepp Healthcare Center in St. Louis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 30, 2001 at 11:00 A.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Louis with Rev. Fr. Jack Hammer officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, Michigan. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7-9 and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.m. at Alward-Carter Funeral Home. There will also be a Prayer Service Thursday evening at 8:45 P.m. at the funeral home.
Gertrude was born in Leask Saskatuwan, Canada on March 4, 1916 the daughter of Joseph P. and Theresa (Verbanic) Sedlar. On October 12, 1946 she married Norman Harrier in Pontiac, Michigan. He passed away on June 17, 1982. She was a homemaker. She also enjoyed gardening and loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Mount St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Louis. She was a lifelong resident of St. Louis, Michigan. Survivors include three sons, David Harrier of Dallas TX, Gordon (Leila) Harrier of Lansing, MI, and Bruce (Laura) Harrier of St. Louis, MI, two daughters, Barbara Harrier of Riverdale, MI, and Norma Bradley of Dallas TX, four sisters, Ruth (William) Martin, Dorothy Smouse, Francas Sedlar, and Mary (Tom) Bella, one brother, Ted (Arlene) Sedlar, ten grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one sister, Betty Pierman, and three brothers, Joseph, Robert, and William Sedlar.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Louis.
The family is being served by Alward-Carter Funeral Home, St. Louis Chapel.

Archie C. Tisdale
Age 82 of St. Louis, Michigan formerly of Davison, Michigan passed away Monday, March 26, 2001 at McKellar’s Assisted Living in St. Louis.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at 11:00 A.m at Clio Free Methodist Church in Clio. Rev. Dan Shinabarger will officiate. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clio, Michigan. Visitation will be at 9:00 A.m. until the Time of the Service at 11:00.
Archie was born in Clio, Michigan on January 9, 1919, the son of Ernest Walker and Nellie Jane (Skinner) Tisdale. He graduated from Clio High School with the Class of 1937 and completed his undergraduate work at Eastern Michigan University. He then received his Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan. He married Ella Miller in Davison, Michigan. She died on November 5, 1999. He was a member of Clio Free Methodist Church in Clio for 80 years, and taught Sunday School and Bible School. He was an advisor for yearbook at Beecher High School, and also advisor for the National Honor Society. He was a faithful husband, father, and grandfather, and an avid gardener. He resided most of his life in Davison, Michigan until moving to St. Louis three years ago. He retired in 1986 from Beecher High School after 43 years of teaching.
Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth (Tom) Crider of St. Louis, MI, son, Paul (Kimberly) Tisdale of Millington, MI, and four grandchildren, Melisa and Jonathan Crider and Rachel and Michael Tisdale.
The family is being served by Alward-Carter Funeral Home, St. Louis Chapel.

Dorothy E. Hart
Age 81 of Laingsburg, Michigan passed away Friday, March 23, 2001 at her residence.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at 11:00 A.m., at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel. Rev. Arthur Turner will officiate. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be Monday Evening from 6-8 and Tuesday 2-8 with the family present from 2-4 and 6-8 P.m.
Dorothy was born in Camden, New York on June 30, 1919, the daughter of Ellis Ford and Ruth B. (Taber) Wilson. She graduated from Owosso High School with the Class of 1938. On October 8, 1938 she married Shirley Demerly in Owosso, Michigan. He passed away on April 28, 1972. She then married Francis Halsey at the Pittsburg United Methodist Church in June 1974. Mr. Halsey died in November 1986. She then married Laurence Hart in Bath, Michigan in October 1988. He died in December 1999. She was a good mother and homemaker. A member of the Pittsburg United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Burns Grange. She resided most of her life in Shiawassee County.
Survivors include three sons, David (Beverly) Demerly of Owosso, MI, Edwin (Martha) Demerly of Bloomfield Hills, MI, and Dick (Janet) Demerly of Owosso, MI, two daughters, Judy (Dan) Stotenbur of Lansing, MI, and Sally (Dale) Thompson of Morrice, MI, one stepdaughter, Lauretta (Gene) Wilcox of Vernon, MI, nineteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and one brother, Lynn (Veda) Wilson of Clinton Twp, MI.
She was predeceased by her parents, three husbands, a sister, a brother, one daughter in-law, and two grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Charity of Donor’s choice.
The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.
