Clyde Ward Cooper
90, of Charlotte, Michigan, died Saturday, December 15, 2001. Mr. Cooper was born April 24, 1911 in Battle Creek, Michigan, the son of John R. and Clara M. (Ward) Cooper. He worked for Charlotte Auto Parts, was a cabinet maker for Charlotte Chair Company until his retirement in 1973 and was a long time member of the First Congregational Church. He especially enjoyed his horses and ponies and was involved with the Eaton County 4-H Fair for over 50 years. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Gracelynna "Sally" (Ryan) Cooper, son Robert of Charlotte, daughters Barbara (David) Lahr of Charlotte, Joyce (Bill) Gavaldon of Potterville, 7 grandchildren, Jon, Joe, and Jim Pell, Derric and Darrin Harmon, Deena (Dan) Mahoney, Ryan Cooper, 8 great grandchildren, sisters Rosa Potter of Charlotte and Helen Campbell of Florida. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18 at Pray Funeral Home with Pastor Pat Sterling officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte. Visitation will be Sunday and Monday 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church U.C.C. or Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital.
Jimmy Hill
64, of Vermontville, Michigan, died Monday, December 17, 2001. Mr. Hill was born May 21, 1937, in Paris, Kentucky, the son of Robert and Marjorie (Rose) Hill. He was an electrician. He is survived by son Wesley Hill of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, brothers Ray (Vickie) Hill, Marion Hill, Terry Hill, Tony Hill, and 3 grandchildren Jenni, Larry and Andrew. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley (Wicker) Hill in 1999. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Rev. Rich Mitterling officiating. Visitation will be Friday 7-9 PM. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Vermontville, Michigan.
Helen May Kenefick
92, of Charlotte, Michigan formerly of Detroit, died Tuesday, December 18, 2001. Mrs. Kenefick was born July 8, 1909, in Chelsea, Massachusets the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Mienhardt) Mundt. She retired as a clerk from F.W. Woolworth Company. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Frank Kenefick, son Frank Kenefick of Peoria, Arizona and daughter of Judy Telfer of Charlotte, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by brothers Fred, Gus, Harold, Frank and Herbert Mundt and sister Hazel Hunter. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2001 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, Michigan with Rev. Noel R. Hall-Niemann officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte. Visitation will be Thursday 4 - 9 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice or Barry-Eaton District Health Department Hospice.
Lindene Ellen Randall
of Lansing, formerly of Charlotte, Michigan, died Thursday, December 20, 2001. Miss. Randall was born August 3, 1954 in Hastings, Michigan, the daughter of Ion and Margery (Cole) Randall. She graduated from Charlotte High School, Ferris State School of Pharmacy and Cooley Law School and was the Office Manager for the Clean Water Action Group of Lansing for 10 years. She is survived by her mother Margery Randall, brother Rodney (Karen) Randall of Charlotte and nephews Jason and Adam Randall. She was preceded in death by her father Ion Randall. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22 at Pray Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey Bowman officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Clean Water Action Group of Lansing.
Betty Jean Wright
77, of Charlotte, Michigan, died Thursday, December 27, 2001. Mrs. Wright was born August 11, 1924, in Charlotte, the daughter of James and Estella (Ripley) Smith. She had enjoyed bowling, bingo and spending time with her family. She is survived by daughters Joan (Glen) Sinclair of Bellevue, Michigan; Linda (Pat) Dickinson of Vermontville, Michigan; Karen (Keith) McCallum of Olivet, Michigan; sons Jerry Sr. (Myrna) Smith of Bellevue; Ronald Wright Jr. of Lansing; and Fred Wright and his fiancée Donna of Charlotte; 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and sister Racheal Beard of Nashville. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Wright Sr. in December 1989, daughter Sharon Wright, daughter-in-law Linda Wright, granddaughters Carrie Dickinson and Tonya Wright. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte with Charles Jenson officiating. Interment will be in Gresham Cemetery in Charlotte. Visitation will be 2-4 PM and 7-9 pm Friday.

67 of Charlotte Michigan, died December 29, 2001. Mrs. Mann was born January 4, 1934, the daughter of Harry L. & Irene M. (Blair) Barnard. (Grace) Mann, of Grand Ledge; sisters Marie M. Wilson, of Charlotte, Noralen J. (Dave) Esterline, of Hillsdale; brothers Darwin J. E. (Viola) Barnard, of Lansing, Alden D. Barnard Sr. of Charlotte, Marshal B. Barnard, of Charlotte, Dean F. (Donna) Barnard, of California; grandchildren, Tamera Thuma, of Charlotte, Troy (Stacie) Thuma of Wisconsin, Brian Kelley of Royal Oak, Lacey Kelley of Charlotte, Nathan Kelley of Charlotte, Damian Mann of Grand Ledge, Sabrina Mann of Grand Ledge. She was preceded in death by sister Dorene L. Barnard, and brother Harry Jr. Barnard. Funeral services will be 3PM at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte with Rev. Marten Saunders officiating. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Dimondale. Visitation will be Tuesday 6-9 PM at the funeral home.
Frances M. Overmyer
86 of Charlotte, Michigan, died December 29, 2001. Mrs. Overmyer was born October 18, 1915, the daughter of Laurits and Amelia A. (Jorgensen) Pedersen. She was a beautician for many years in Charlotte. She is survived by daughters Sally (Butch) Haight and Cheri (Douglas) Smith of Charlotte, Judy Latchaw of Coldwater, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Keith Overmyer in January, 1995 and great great granddaughter Bailey Rae Fletcher. Visitation will be held at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3 at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main Street, Fenneville, Michigan. Interment will be at Fenneville Cemetery in Fenneville. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
Harry Duane Morrison
age 73 of Charlotte, Michigan, passed away December 29, 2001. Mr. Morrison was born October 2, 1928 in Bellevue, Michigan, the son of John and Jennie (Nettleton) Morrison. He retired from Fisher Body in 1986, enjoyed fishing, hunting and his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, IdaBelle (Weldon) Morrison, sons Larry (Terry Sue) Morrison, Brian (Kami) Morrison of Charlotte, Keith (Angie) Morrison of Eaton Rapids, daughter Karen (Chris) Miles of Holt, 6 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Egbert (Ellen) Morrison, Dorothy (Mike) Young, Francis Morrison, Claudia Smith, Janice (Don) Barnett, Sandra (Harry) Smith, Roger (Pat) Morrison, and Sue (Gordon) Bottomley. He was preceded in death by son Douglas Morrison, parents John Morrison and mother Jennie Moist, sister Jeanette Gruhl, and brother Ernest Morrison. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 4 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte with Rev. Darwin Kuhl officiating. Interment will be at Deepdale Memorial Park in Lansing. Visitation will be Thursday 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
