Patricia VanNeste
Patricia A. VanNeste, 64, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at her residence while under hospice care. She was born Feb. 17, 1945 in Detroit, the only child of Stephen and Helen Karpi.
Patricia and her husband, Rene, have been Charlotte residents for the past 14 years. She was a wife, mother and grandmother through many years of a hereditary and terminal illness. Patricia enjoyed her years with the Lakewood Area Choral Society, singing with the gift of her voice. She had a love for animals and never turned away a stray. Most importantly, she helped in the care of her grandchildren. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Rene; her son, Steve VanNeste of Chicago, Ill.; her daughter, Lisa MacNamee of Charlotte; and two grandchildren, Jeffery and Mae MacNamee. Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, July 25 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Charlotte, with Rev. Fr. Denis R. Spitzley as celebrant. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Eaton community Hospice or Eaton county Humane Society.

Roger E. Wagner
Roger E. Wagner, of Eaton Rapids, passed away Thursday July, 16 at the age of 85. He was born Nov. 11, 1923 to George and Veda (Litzenburger) Wagner in Dorr.
Roger worked as a bread truck driver for Oven Fresh for 36 years before retiring and going to work as a farmer. Roger is a member of Ponies of America, and St. Peter Catholic Church, as well as a 30 year member of the Michigan Draft Horse Breeders Association. Roger is survived by his wife of 63 years, Norma Wagner; children, Bonnie (Keith) Heinzelman, Ron Wagner, Don (Mary) Wagner, Rick (Verna) Wagner, Deborah (Carl) Rial; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Monday July 20 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Eaton Rapids. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter kitchen fund in loving memory of Roger Wagner.
Marilyn Wajda
Marilyn Fay Wajda, 73, of Bellevue, died July 21, 2009. She was born Sept. 11, 1935 in Battle Creek to Howard and Matilda Alling. She was a Catholic Cursista, a Lioness and belonged to Good Samaritan of Eaton County where she ran their pantry. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Greenman.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Stanley Wajda and their six children, Regina Johnson, Steen Wajda, Valerie Langin, Samuel Wajda, Scott Wajda, Heidi Shafiyonn and eight grandchildren; brother, Eugene Alling; and sister, Shirley Sajtar.
Services were held July 31, 2009.
Deborah Wakeley
Deborah Ledger Wakeley, 54, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009 at her residence after an extended illness. Deborah was born June 13, 1955 in Alma, Mich., the daughter of Asa Rayburn and Sally (Morris) Ledger and had been a Charlotte resident since 1985 coming from Grayling, Mich.
She was a graduate of Traverse City High School and had attended Lansing Community College. She was a member of the O.E.S. and U.A.W. Local No. 602 in Lansing. She was a retired employee of General Motors in Lansing, retiring due to ill health.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sally Ledger in 1992 and father, Asa R. Ledger in 2005.
Surviving are her husband, Kevin R. Wakeley; son, Aaron Michael (Angela) Ledger of Lansing; foster son, John Bayes; two sisters, Margaret (Mike) Kelly of Marshall and Susan Carol (Roger) Phillips of Rutherfordton, NC; brother, John Ledger of Hendersonville, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 28, 2009 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Rev. Charles Jenson officiating. Interment was Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 at the Maple Forest Township Cemetery, Grayling, Mich.

Lloyd Elton Waldo
Lloyd Elton Waldo, 76, of Mason, passed away Monday, May 18, 2009, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 26, 1933 in Bemidji, Minn., the son of George and Minnie (Kessler) Waldo.
Lloyd served in the US Air Force for 20 years. He was honorably discharged as a tech sergeant, and was especially proud of his Airman Medal of Honor. He graduated from Bemidji State College, earning his bachelor’s degree in education. He then started teaching Industrial Arts while earning his masters degree from Michigan State University.
He retired from Mason High School in 1992. He was a member of the Mason Lodge 70 of Mason, future Farmers of America, Mason American Legion Post 148 and the Jean R. Anderson VFW Post 7309. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in the great outdoors and loved spending time with his family.
He married Dona M. White on June 14, 1953 and they enjoyed nearly 56 years of marriage. Claude was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Kassie Preston.
Surviving is his wife, Dona; three children, Joseph (Tina), Doreen (John) Dwyer and Philip (Kathy); seven grandchildren, Nicole and Joanna Waldo, Ashley (James) DeRoover, Carrie and Stacy Dwyer, Traci (Kevin) Vaive and Philicia Waldo; 11 great grandchildren, Hailey, Hayven, Regen, Maysen, Michael, Cameron, Jacob, Victoria, Chelsie, Cortnie and Catelyn; one great-great grandson, Kason; brother, Warren (Virginia) Waldo; and several loving nieces, nephews and good friends.

Ruth Walker
Ruth Ella Walker, 71, of Charlotte, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009. Mrs. Walker was born May 8, 1937 in Charlotte, the daughter of DeVere and Thelma Stadel.
Ruth was employed by Montgomery Ward, Government, and Bell Telephone at the switchboard. She enjoyed her family time at the cottage on Thornapple Lake, camping, snowmobiling, and traveling. She loved to sew clothes, listen to country music with Elvis being one of her favorites, golf cart rides, and also loved afternoon rides in her Model A. Ford.
She is survived by her husband, Floyde; daughters, Renee (Lloyd) Rademacher, and Shelly (Jerry) Swift; grandchildren, Trent and Joshua Swift, Amy (Rusty) Misner, Ryan and Jordan Rademacher; siblings, Norman (Mary) Stadel and Linda (Dean) Clarke; brother-in-law, Erwin (Charlotte) Walker; sister-in-law, Laura Farr; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009 at Pray Funeral Home with Rich Mitterling officiating. Interment was in Gresham Cemetery, Charlotte.

Andrea Waller
Andrea L. Waller, 65, of Charlotte, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009. Mrs. Waller was born May 20, 1943 in Lansing, the daughter of Donald and Eleanor (Winchell) Dingwell.
Mrs. Waller graduated from Mason High School and retired from Marshall Fields in Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mom, Juanita; sister, Mary Dingwell and brother, Ed Dingwell.
She is survived by her sons, Alan (Dianna) Graves and Kevin Graves; two grandchildren; brother, Carl (Cella) Dingwell; sister, Sue (Mitch) Parmer; brother, Lee and Pam Dingwell; brother, Donnie Dingwell; and brother, Gale (Yon) Dingwell.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 at Pray Funeral Home with Reverend Rich Mitterling officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte.

Uwe Walliczek
Uwe R. Walliczek, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 26, 2009. He was born in Germany on July 17, 1935 to Rudolf and Hertha (Kreibohn) Walliczek.
Uwe was an electrician at the General Motors Service Parts Operation (Plant 4) and retired in 1987. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. Uwe was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also an outstanding craftsman.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra and step-son, Barry woodman.
There will be no visitation or services. the family is being served by the Rosier Funeral Home in Sunfield.

Arlene Wardwell
Arlene D. Wardwell, 98, of Potterville, died Friday, May 29, 2009. Mrs. Wardwell was born in Blanchard, Mich., the daughter of Henry and Myrtle (Everson) Swift.
Mrs. Wardwell and her husband, C.E., owned and operated grocery stores in Lansing. She had a large collection of dolls and enjoyed making pillows and quilts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.E. Wardwell; sons, Robert and James Wardwell; great grandson, Jason Laux; brothers, Orville Swift, Henry Swift and sister, Clara Halsted.
She is survived by her son, Raymond (Mary) Wardwell of Portland; daughter, Joyce (Roy) Kramer of Potterville; son, Lynn Wardwell of Potterville; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren and two great-great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 1, 2009 at Pray Funeral Home with Pastor Glen Neal officiating. Interment was in Benton Township Cemetery, Potterville.
