Linda J. Kostopoulos
It is with sadness that I notify you of the passing of my beloved wife on December 17, 2009 into the arms of her Lord after a courageous battle with cancer. Linda was born on August 25th, 1942, in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Donald R. and Lillian R. (Monroe) Cady. She retired from the State of Michigan after 39 years of service, most of which was with the Dept. of Transportation, serving in a variety of positions. She was chosen Ms. Transpo, representing the Department in a number of highway and Information Center openings. To know Linda was to know a gentle loving soul of great strength, character and loyalty. She loved her Lord and her family without compromise. She loved flowers, every pet she met and delighted in feeding her backyard birds. Linda was fascinated by nature, loved camping and possessed a lively curiosity to discover what was around the next corner. She devoured mystery novels and enjoyed an occasional casino venture. More importantly, she was gifted with the most beautiful smile and expressive eyes that would melt your heart.
Linda is survived by myself, Nicholas, her husband of 28 wonderful years of marriage, our daughter Kimberly (Perkins) and Chan Huynh, her mother Lillian Cady and sisters, Anita (Cady) Gordos, Connie (Cady) Corbin, Jackie (Cady) and Burt Warner, Mary (Cady) Glassbrook, and Sandy (Cady) and Bill Frasher. She is also survived by two “sisters”, Ruth Ann (Raymer) and Ron Thornton, and Jeanne Raymer, along with “brothers” James and Randall Raymer. Surviving also are numerous nephews and nieces. Holding a tender place in her heart are her “brother” and “sister” Richard and Judy Smith. Linda was predeceased by her sister Shirley (Cady) Smith, a brother, Donald Cady Jr., her father, Donald Cady and a “brother” William Raymer.
Linda leaves behind a great vacancy in my heart, and that of our daughter as well as the hearts of those how knew and loved her. Were it not for our faith in the Loving Lord, we would be inconsolable. So with that thought in mind, I say “good-bye for now my love, I’ll see you at the Gate”. The family extends its deepest appreciation to Eaton County Community Hospice of Charlotte for its incredible and loving care of Linda. We would encourage donations to this remarkable organization.
