Edward Feeny
Edward Joseph Feeny, 88, has resided in Charlotte, for the past 24 years and is formerly of Dearborn, Mich., died Tuesday, June 9, 2009. Mr. Feeny was born May 18, 1921 in Detroit, the son of James and Emma (Kubisch) Feeny.
Mr. Feeny was a broker salesman and served in the United States Navy in WWII. Ed loved his land, gardening, any dog, fishing and most of all people both individually and in large gatherings. He had a smile for everyone and always a great story. His legacy to all was ‘DO GOOD”. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim. He is survived by his wife, Josephine; daughter, Mary (Robyn) Fish of Bloomington, Ind.; sons, Michael Feeny of Detroit, Patrick (Evyline) Feeny of Niles, Paul (Claudia) Feeny of Charlotte, and Edward Feeny of Ann Arbor; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and sister, Marie Wilkinson of Farmington Hills. Funeral services were held Friday, June 12, 2009 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Charlotte with Rev. Father Denis Spitzley officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte. Barbara K. Feighner
Barbara K. Feighner, 64 of St. Helen, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 at west Branch Regional Medical Center after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Barbara had lived in St. Helen for the past five years, formerly of Charlotte.
She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles both of Houghton Lake and she enjoyed traveling, painting, decorating, flowers and trips with friends.
Barbara is survived by her companion, John Pierson of St. Helen; her previous husband and friend, Kenneth Feighner of Lansing; children, Todd (Chris) Feighner of Delton, Thad (Dalen) Feighner of Grand Ledge and Tony (Lisa) Feighner of Leslie; and her grandchildren, Zoe, Evan, Kyra, Alex and Tristan. Also surviving is her brother, Fred Yennior; and sisters, Madeline McDonald and Peggy Harder.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Jean; her brothers, George and Bill; and her sister, Ann.
A Memorial Service will be held at the American Legion Hall in St. Helen on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 at 2 p.m. Rev. Rodney Morrison will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hsopice of Helping Hands, the Seton Cancer Center, Toys for Tots of the Make a Wish Foundation.
Sue Ferguson
Sue Ferguson, 63, of Narrow Lake, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009. She was born May 12, 1946, in Benton Harbor, the daughter of Bob and Virginia Janca.
She is survived by her daughter, Dana Ferguson (Charles Taylor) of Novi; parents, Bob and Virginia Janca of Baroda; ex-husband, Jim Ferguson of Lansing; sisters, Roberta and Linda Janca (David) Braatz; dear friends, Linda Kloppe and Sharon Belka; many wonderful, loving cousins; and her loving, special pets, Jasper, Freddy and Franny.
Sue retired in 2008 after 40 years of teaching, leaving behind a history of cherished memories of educating and participating in a variety of extra-curricular functions. She was an avid MSU sports fan, and enjoyed attending shows at the Wharton Center. Her favorite music to listen to included show tunes, John Denver, and songs from the 50’s and 60’s.
She enjoyed camping with her family, spending time with animals, and gardening and had a great sense of humor. Sue liked to give nicknames to people, and make people laugh. She was a member of Youth for Understanding, Friendship Connection, and the Baroda Bible Church, as well as Book Club, and German Club.
Funeral services were held at Pike Funeral Home in Bridgman, Monday, Sept. 21. The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek.

Sue Ferris
Our loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and friend, Sue Ferris passed away Monday, October 19, 2009.
Sue was born on March 10, 1948 to Bud and Helen Kerentoff and grew upon Devil’s Lake with her sisters, Marty and Sandi. She attended high school in Addison, Mich. and beauty school in Lansing. She and Vinnie married in May 1970 and raised a family in Charlotte.
Sue and Vinnie established Custom Home Interiors in Charlotte in 1975. Within SHI, Sue specifically developed and grew a very successful interior design department. They both worked together while raising their children Stacey and Andy. Sue dedicated herself to her children, supporting their educational, athletic, and social endeavors to adulthood and beyond.
She enjoyed gardening, interior design, reading, poems and laughing with her grandchildren. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family, playing golf, and watching MSU sporting events.
Sue is survived by her husband Vince; father, Bud Kerentoff; sisters, Sandi Kerentoff and Marty Morris; nieces, Jackie Stiles and Jodi Patton; children, Andy and Stacey; grandchildren, Jake and Lucas Kroner.
Sue was preceded in passing by her mother, Helen Kerentoff.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, October 22, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Charlotte.

Margaret Fisher
Margaret A. Fisher, 86, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009. Mrs. Fisher was born Sept. 24, 1923 in Olivet, the daughter of Claud and Jessie (Dodd) Miller.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Donald Miller and sister, Doris Ellis. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Julius; daughter, Julie (James) Dutton of Nebraska City, Nev.; son, Thomas “Tom” (Patrice) Fisher of Royal Oak, Mich.,; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, James Miller. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2009 Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church, Charlotte, with Reverend Gary Taylor officiating. Interment will be in West Carmel Cemetery, Charlotte. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009 from 4-6 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.

Marie A. Florian
Marie A. Florian of Eaton Rapids, age 66, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, October 21, 2009. She was born in Eaton Rapids, February 26, 1943, the daughter of Laurence and Velma (Harshey) Clarke and was a life-long resident of Eaton Rapids. Marie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the Lord and lived to serve Him. She was a gifted artist and writer. Her love of the Lord and nature were reflected in her drawings, paintings, writings and poetry. She was a published poet in Ideals Magazine, World of Poetry and self-published three poetry books. Marie was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church of Eaton Rapids, a Sunday school teacher for 38 years, a Stephen Minister for 20 years and Mentor Mom to the local MOPS group for 8 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Clare Swan and baby brother, Laurence Keith Clarke.
Marie is survived by her loving husband of 47 ˝ years, Carl J. Florian; sons, Gregory (Danell) Florian of Charlotte, John (Kimberly) Florian of Mason, Jeffrey (Heather) Florian of Eaton Rapids; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Michael Florian; brothers, Alan (Marcia) Clarke of Eaton Rapids, Dean (Linda) Clarke of Bellevue, Donald (Joyce) Clarke of Eaton Rapids, Gary (Ruth) Clarke of Springport, Maurice Clarke (Gloria Fleming) of Florida, Maynard (Kathy) Clarke of Georgia,; aunt, Grace Pierce; several cousins; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Joyce Showerman, Audrey Kowalk, Wayne and Dianne Clone; her Bible study group, Ina Myers, Barbara Stanton and Pastor Irene Vittoz.

Michele Marie (Vore) Foltz
Michele Marie (Vore) Foltz of Sunfield was born March 17, 1964 in Pontiac, and graduated from Lakeland High School (White Lake) in 1982.
She graduated from Central Michigan University in 1986.The family resided in Lansing for several years and moved to Sunfield in 2004.
Michele was a member of the Kilpatrick United Brethren Church and active in the Sunfield Parents group.
She enjoyed skiing, loved to read and spend time at Guthrie Lake and Mackinac Island.
Michele was a wonderful and devoted wife and mother - she loved her family and family time more than anything.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Diane Helen Maloney, dad, Richard Lee Vore, and grandparents, Orville and Trudy Vore and Margaret and Howard Benedict.
Surviving are her loving husband of 21 years, Gary and her three beloved sons, Jason, Brian, and Kevin.
Also surviving are her sister, Janeen (Vore) and husband Scott Flores, stepfather, Bill Maloney (Trudy), niece, Lexi, and the Foltz family, Don and Bonnie, Betsy Louthan, Steve and Beth, Doug and Tracy, and many nieces and nephews.

Eileen Frantz
Eileen Sarah Frantz, of Hastings, beloved wife and mother, passed away on Feb. 25, 2009 after a brief illness. Eileen was born Aug. 3, 1923 in Mulliken, the daughter of Leo and Clara (Ramsey) McIntrye.
She was a 1940 graduate of Grand Ledge High School and attended Lansing Secretarial School. She worked at General Motors after her graduation.
In 1942, Eileen married Leland Philip Frantz (married 60 years). They lived on a farm near Sunfield for 37 years until they retired and moved to Podunk Lake in Hastings.
With the birth of her children, Eileen became a full-time mother and homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, was a wonderful cook, loved to bake and was a passionate reader.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Leland in 2002; brother, Leo; her parents; and son-in-law, Thomas Robel.
She leaves behind daughters, Diana (James) Mullen of Fairfax, Va. and Darlene Robel of Tampa, Fla.; son, Randy (Lois) Frantz of Hastings; six grandchildren, Craig, Kevin and Michelle Robel, Michelle Robel, Matthew Mullen, and Sarah and Nicole Frantz; one great grandchild, Jake Robel; sisters, Ruah (Kendall) Dow and Margaret (Edward) Kuhns; brother, Norbert McIntrye; and many nieces and nephews.

Joseph Paul Frederick
Joseph Paul Frederick of Eaton Rapids, formerly of Grand Rapids, age 81, passed away at his home, December 29, 2009. Joe was born in Grand Rapids on April 20, 1928, the son of Joseph and Anna (Stepanski) Frederick. Joe graduated from Michigan State University where he earned a masters degree in social work. He retired from Ingham Intermediate School District after 20 years of service. Joe was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He was a very devout Catholic that served his church as a former Grand Knight, active with the building program, and was a committee member with the playground of dreams. Joe was a volunteer with the Dimondale Center and Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed baking bread, vegetable gardening and building. His true loves were that of his family and grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his wife, Colette C. (Weber) Frederick of Eaton Rapids; children, Paul (Barbara) Frederick of South Haven, John (Marcia) Frederick of Rockford, Mary (Derek) Schraft of Eaton Rapids, Jim Frederick of Eaton Rapids; grandchildren, Anna and Shelby Frederick of South Haven, David, Daniel and Darren Frederick of Rockford, Nathan Schraft of Portland, Rachel and Kevin Schraft of Eaton Rapids; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Sister Dorothy Marie, Sister Agnes of Jesus and Father Edwin Frederick.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 2, 2010 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 515 E. Knight St. Eaton Rapids. Father Gerard Weber and Father Bennett Constantine officiated. Interment followed at Rosehill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul or the Lansing City Rescue Mission.

David Charles Freer
David Charles Freer, age 56, of Eaton Rapids, passed away in Lansing, April 22, 2009. He was born July 9, 1952 in Eaton Rapids, to Stanley and June (Rowley) Freer. David was a former employee in the automotive industry, and also a former employee at Glenn Buege Chevrolet in Eaton Rapids.
He is survived by his siblings; Jack Freer of Eaton Rapids, Richard (Vivian) Freer of Eaton Rapids, Joe Freer of Eaton Rapids, Melvin (Claudia) Freer of Potterville, Vicki Freer of Eaton Rapids, Dennis Freer of Eaton Rapids, Kim (Carol) Freer of Eaton Rapids, Christine Sutherland of Lansing and several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents.
