Wayne Aumick
Wayne P. Aumick, 68, of Nashville, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born December 3, 1940 in Charlotte, the son of Cornelius B. and Edna (Hine) Aumick. He worked as a foreman for Johnson Iron Works for 17 years before his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Leona (Brown) Aumick; children, Cindy M. Finch of Gaylord, Russell I. Foster, Sr. of Cincinnati, and David A. Foster of Normandy, Tenn.; grandchildren, April, Rachael, Tonya, Jennifer, Russell, Audrey, and Isaac; great grandchildren, Brittany, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Lauren; sister, Karen Yarger of Lansing.
A memorial service will be held at his residence, 10500 E. Cloverdale Rd., Nashville, on September 12, 2009 at 1 p.m. Arrangements were made by www.prayfuneral.com.
Thomas Auvenshine
Thomas C. Auvenshine, 59, of Charlotte, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, May 19, 2009. He was born August 18, 1949 the son of John and Lula (Rogers) Auvenshine. Thomas was a driver for United Parcel Service, most recently working as a Next Day Air driver from which he retired June 1, 2005. He was instrumental in starting the “Company Store” within UPS earning the nickname of “Trinket Tom” in the process. Thomas was a member of the UPS Circle of Honor in recognition of 32 years of safe driving. He served as a B-52 bomb navigator in the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam War. He was an active member at the First Baptist Church, a coach for the Charlotte Junior Orioles, Eaton County Fair Horse Superintendent and a local farmer for many years. He was a loving husband, devoted father and a friend to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. As he always said, “to God be the Glory.”
He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Adam Auvenshine of Charlotte; daughter, Amanda (Tom) Archer of Charlotte; parents; John and Lu Auvenshine of Holt and brother, John (Bridget) Auvenshine of Tucson, Ariz.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Robin Crouch officiating. Interment will be in Benton Township Cemetery in Potterville.

Louise Babcock
Louise (Cribley) Babcock passed away peacefully Jan. 17, 2009. She was born in Potterville on June 22, 1920 to Emanuel and Irene (Merrill) Cribley.
Louise was the "Bingo Queen" of the family and enjoyed her time spent at the senior centers in Eaton Rapids and Charlotte. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, telling stories, having picnics and eating ice cream.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Babcock; brothers, Richard and Bill Cribley; sons, Garry and Jerry Lownsbery; daughter, Margaret; granddaughter, Tracy Lownsbery and great-grandson, David Huizinga.
She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Betty Adkins and Clara Scutt; brothers, Charles (Norma Jean) Cribley and Joe Cribley; sons, Gail (Barbara) Lownsbery and Michael (Martha) Babcock; daughters-in-law, Linda Lownsbery and Joanne Holbrook; grandchildren, Leann, David, Lori, Kim, Jerry, Pam, Kit, Alan, Gary, Melinda, Kenny and Heather; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and wonderful friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Eaton Community Hospice; sister, Betty; nieces, Sharon, Sandy, and Kathy; and Joann for everything they had done.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009 at the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. Burial was at the Potterville Cemetery in Benton Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations made to the Eaton Community Hospice at 2675 Cochran Road, Charlotte, MI 48813 in memory of Louise Babcock.
Beverly Bailey
Beverly Jean Bailey, 69, of Eaton Rapids, passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2009 at her home.
Beverly was born Aug. 4, 1939 in Lansing, the daughter of Donald and Virginia (Miller) Nevins.
She worked as a nurse’s aide in home health care.
Preceded in death by her husband, Dick Bailey, Beverly is survived by four children, Rick (Lisa) Bailey of Eaton Rapids, Shawn Bailey of Lansing, Michael (Betsy) Bailey, and Sebrina (David) Mathews, all of Eaton Rapids; she loved her eight “grandbabies”, Jason (Marie), Natosha and Nicole Bailey, Heather (Nate) Olson and Mindy Franks, Mark (Beth) Bailey, Kevin and Alisha Mathews; and her 10 “great grandbabies”, Matthew, Andrew, Emily, Madison, McKehna, Nate Jr., Hadlei, Kaiden, Gage and Austin.
Also surviving are her sister, Ruth Houghton of Eaton Rapids, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering was held Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at her sister’s home in Eaton Rapids.
Arrangements were by the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids.
Janice Bailey
Janice Bailey, 71, of Vermontville, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2009. Mrs. Bailey was born Dec. 8, 1937 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Lavina Tabor.
Mrs. Bailey was an EMT for the Bellevue Rescue Squad, Vermontville and Charlotte Ambulance Service. She was an avid lover of Shiatsu dogs.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Robinson; sister, Jeanette Rose and brother, Marshall Taybor.
She is survived by her son, Joe Robinson of Lynwood, Wash.; son, Dan (Kelli) Bailey of Vermontville; daughter, Cindy Kearley of Tacoma, Wash.; daughter, Cathy (Chad) Peck of Vermontville; seven grandchildren; sisters, Audrey Tabor, Christine (Chuck) Jennette and Faith (Delmes).

Terry Bailey
Terry Harrison Bailey, 63, of Nashville, died Thursday, April 9, 2009. Mr. Bailey was born July 5, 1945 in Lansing, the son of Keith and June (Howard) Bailey.
He is survived by sisters, Joyce Dimond, Jane Ragle, Colene Bailey; brothers, Barry, Tom, Mike, Rob and Jack Bailey.

Phyllis Ball
Phyllis L. Ball, 82, of Battle Creek, died Wednesday morning, March 18, 2009, at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence, Battle Creek. Phyllis was born on April 25, 1926 in Lansing, and was the daughter of Milo P. and Arloie E. (Lane) Daly.
She was a 1943 graduate of Bellevue High School. Phyllis enjoyed puzzles of any kind, her computer and loved to dance; but her true passion in life was her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Tony on Feb. 4, 2007 and her brother, Maurice Daly.
On June 18, 1944, in Battle Creek, Phyllis was united in marriage to Earl R. “Pete” Ball and her husband of almost 65 years, survives. Also surviving is her daughter, Cheryl P. (James) Craft of Battle Creek; son, Gary R. (Jackie) Ball of Holland, Mich.; two grandsons, Matthew E. and Jeffrey A. Ball; great granddaughter, Meghan K. Ball; two sisters, Maureen Jenkins of Battle Creek and Beverly “Betsy” (Wendell) Wood of Albion, Mich.; sister-in-law, Dorothy Daly of Battle Creek and by three special friends, Mary, Tonia and Yvonne Ron.
At the request of her family, friends may call on Saturday, March 212 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Battle Creek. The graveside service to celebrate Phyllis’ life will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, 2435 W. Territorial Road, Battle Creek, with Mr. Michael Robbins, of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, officiating.

Philip Bandy
Philip Bandy, 65, of Charlotte, died Sunday, June 21, 2009. Mr. Bandy was born May 19, 1944 in Tazewell County, Va., the son of George and Isabel (Seigo) Bandy.
Mr. Bandy was an inspector for General Motors. He was a member of the Melodaires gospel singing group. He loved music, singing with the family around the piano, and Sunday afternoon sports on TV.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Shirley; sons, Eric (Angela) Bandy and Brent Bandy; daughter, Amy Spence; grandchildren, Nicholas Jernigan, Kyle Bandy, Katie Bandy and Sophia Spence; brothers, Ray (Trudy) Bandy, Charles (Joyce) Bandy and G.W. (Linda) Bandy; sister, Cassandra (Ken) Waterman and step-mother, Jane Bandy.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Grand Ledge Baptist Church, Grand Ledge, with Pastor Andrew Ford and Pastor John Leinke officiating. Interment was in Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Mich.

Caron Barnard
Caron “Suzie” Barnard, of Olivet, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009 after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born Caron Sue Glisson Oct. 9, 1955. She graduated from Holt High School in 1974.
In addition to her love of family and friends, Caron was happiest in her gardens and was also an avid hunter who enjoyed harvesting deer on her 20 acres.
Caron was preceded in death by her father, Joe Glisson.
Caron is survived by her devoted loving husband of 18 years, Curtis H. Barnard; her caring supportive daughter, Kellie (Joe) Ducsay of Holt; beloved granddaughters, Abigail, Margaret and Katherine Ducsay; mother and step-father, Shirley (Larry) Brown of Mesa, Ariz.; brothers, Steve and Tom Glisson; sisters, Katherine and Chrisanne Glisson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte. Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 28,2 009 from noon-2 p.m. just prior to the funeral service.

Joseph Baxter
Joseph Earl Baxter, 95, of Charlotte, died Sunday, April 26, 2009. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements were made by Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte.
Barbara Bayes
Barbara Bayes of Six Lakes, formerly of Charlotte, age 61, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 3, 2009 in Lansing, MI. She was born in Plainwell. MI, December 8, 1947, the daughter of James and Mary (Duffy) Moore. Barbara graduated from Hastings High School in 1966 and later attended the Patricia Stevens Finishing School in South Bend, IN where she graduated in 1967. She worked for Eaton Intermediate School District and retired in 2005 after 20 years of service. Barbara was a member of the Red Hat Society. She volunteered at the Senior Citizen Home in Stanton. Barbara loved Avon and was a sales representative for many years. She loved to camp and enjoyed crafts.
Barbara is survived by her children, Brian (Teresa) Ferguson of Grasslake, Kimberly (Tom) Thelen of Westphalia; step-children, Andy (Trina) Bayes of Olivet, Andrea (Rob) Jewett of Charlotte, Amber (Tim) Thelen of Westphalia; 13 grandchildren, Charleigh, Emily, Ben, Eliza, Jacob, Mitchell, Andrew, Zach, Cameo, Jadelynn, Jordan, Janelle and Lyle; sisters, Cathy (Dave) Hathaway, Mary Riggs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Dick” Bayes; parents and a brother, Joe Duffy.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 515 S. Knight St. Eaton Rapid, with Father Bennett Constantine of St. Peter Catholic Church and Father Larry Delaney of St. Francis Retreat Center officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with a rosary at 7:30 pm. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 3100 West Rd.
