Jeffrey Scott Gooder
Jeffrey Scott Gooder of Eaton Rapids, age 44, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008 in Lansing. Jeffrey was born November 27, 1963 in Lansing, MI, the son of Richard Lee and Carol Jane (Baldwin) Gooder. He worked as a house painter in the Eaton Rapids and Lansing areas. Preceded in death by his grandparents, L.D. & Mildred Baldwin and Herb & Ila Gooder.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Carol Gooder of Eaton Rapids; 1 aunt, Patricia (John) Payne of Eaton Rapids; 3 uncles, Arnold (Jenny) Gooder, Dan (Laura) Gooder, and Phil (Joyce) Gooder; cousins, Susan (Doug) Sherman, Barb (Jeff) Morse, Angie (Ryan) Kopydlowski and Erin (Brian) Wiecyorek.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the Wesleyan Church, Eaton Rapids with Pastor Frank Klassen officiating. Lonnie Troy “Bones” Goodnoe
Lonnie Troy “Bones” Goodnoe, age 61, of Dimondale, and formerly of Eaton Rapids, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Sunday evening, June 15, 2008. He was born in Jackson, MI on August 23, 1946 the son of George W. and Blanche (Seafort) Goodnoe Sr. Lonnie worked his entire life in the tool & die trade and was a master of his craft. He loved his family, his work and life. Preceding him in death was his mother, Blanche and brother, Jerry.
Surviving are his wife Kathie; daughter, Kimberly (Jerry) Hawks and their 4 children, Lonnie T. Goodnoe Jr. (Troy and Traci) and their 5 children, and Lonnie T. Goodnoe (Tomar and Laura) and their 2 children; stepson, Christopher Leach; father, George Sr. (Marcia); brothers, George Jr. (Diane) and Ron (Helen); sister, Nancy (Ralph) Craft; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thank you to cousin Cindy, friends and neighbors and Val and Dr. Hamdon at Sparrow for their kind support and care.
Per his request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday, June 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids, with the Rev. Stephen Klink, officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time. For those desiring memorial gifts may be made to St. Vincent Home for Children in memory of Lonnie T. “Bones” Goodnoe.
Connie Graham
Connie Jean Graham, formerly of Charlotte and Vermontville, was born on March 9, 1942 to Arlo and Lisle Graham, and passed away in Hastings on Nov. 20, 2008.
She attended Country School at Gresham, and was a 1959 graduate of Charlotte High School. Connie had been employed at Andy’s Restaurant, Michigan Magnetics, Eaton County medical Care Facility, sold Avon, worked as a home health care aide, and retired from the Michigan Secretary of State in 2005.
Connie also enjoyed working with arts and crafts, making and selling them with her parents and former husband at various craft fairs. Connie continued with arts and crafts by herself, often giving them to friends and family, until her health made it impossible. Christmas was always the brightest holiday for her, and she always enjoyed watching and feeding the birds.
Connie is survived by her daughter, Heather England (Larry Watson); son, Brian (Raz) Steward; her biggest joys of her life, her cherished granddaughters, Britny and Brooke England, and Addison and Emmersen Steward; sister, Sandra (Rick) Parker; brothers, Steven (Lucille), Stanley (Linda), and Dennis Graham; many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; her former husband and his wife, George and Noreen Steward; and a large circle of friends.
A time of visitation was held at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008. Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa.
Dorothy J. Groves
Dorothy J. Groves, age 81, of Eaton Rapids, died Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Eaton Community hospice in Charlotte. Dorothy was born March 10, 1927 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Richmond and Hazel (Hall) Babbitt. Dorothy was formerly co-owner of Taylor Made Bakery in Eaton Rapids, she later worked for the Shimmin Drug Store in Eaton Rapids and then Gulliver Pharmacy in East Lansing. She was a member of the First congregational Church in Eaton Rapids. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards with her many friends and Bingo at the Senior Center.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Taylor “Red” Groves; 2 sons, Steve (Mary) Groves and Mark (Riny) Groves all of Eaton Rapids; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 10th from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. Burial followed in the Rosehill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids. Family strongly suggests memorial contributions be made to the Eaton Community Hospice at 2675 S. Cochran Charlotte, MI 48813.
Guy Gunder
Guy Thomas Gunder, 83, of Eaton Rapids passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008 in Eaton Rapids. Guy was born July 25, 1925 in Mason, the son of Leonard Arnold and Edythe (Brown) Gunder.
He retired from Holt Products in 1987. Guy was a very active dad, loved to bowl and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Gunder; and son-in-law, David Russell.
Guy is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sharon (Warfield) Gunder; daughters, Melody (Randy) Morrison of Eaton Rapids, Kim Russell of Lake Odessa, and Michelle (Rob) Gould of Eaton Rapids; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation was held Thursday, Sept. 4. at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids.
David Gusey
David H. Gusey, 64, of Vermontville, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 at the Eaton Community Hospice House, Charlotte. Mr. Gusey was born Nov. 29, 1944 in Charlotte, the son of Harold and Fern (Taylor) Gusey.
He worked at the General Motors Parts Plant for 32 years before his retirement in 1996. He loved fishing and hunting, and camping with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Roger Gusey.
He married Kathy Shaver on May 23, 1969 and she survives him along with their children, Tracy (Andrew) Smith of Clarksville, MI, Michael (Jessica) Gusey and Ryan (Jennifer) Gusey of Vermontville; nine loving grandchildren, Dawson, Madison, Silas, A.J., Alyson, Emma, Noah, Claire and Andrea; brothers, Robert and Dan Gusey; sisters-in-law, Nancy Gusey, Sharon (Duane) Locke, Vicki (Chuck) Stiver, Laurel (Don) Wallace and Janet Rhoden.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at Pray Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Wilford officiating. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Kalamo, Mich.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis or Eaton Community Hospice House.

Roger Gusey
Roger B. Gusey, 66, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Mr. Gusey was born Sept. 22, 1941 in Kalamo Township, the son of Harold and Fern (Taylor) Gusey.
Mr. Gusey worked for General Motors in the Parts Division for 30 years and a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the West Benton Church and the National Rifle Association. Mr. Gusey was enjoying farming and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy; daughter, Zandra Pierce of Hastings; son, Adam Gusey of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Janae and Kinzie; brothers, Robert Gusey of Muskegon, David (Kathy) Gusey of Vermontville and Dan Gusey of Charlotte; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Pray Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Homan officiating. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Kalamo Township.

Kathryn Guyer
Kathryn Emma Guyer, of Dimondale, passed away June 18, 2008 at the age of 86. She was born on March 15, 1922 to the proud parents James and Anna Parks, one brother, Alvin Parks and one sister, Marilyn Johnson.
She graduated from Lansing Central High, then met, fell in love and married Keith (Jack) Guyer on Dec. 1, 1940.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband; two sons, Carl and Stanley; three great-grandsons, Nathan, Danny, and Loren.
She was a devoted mother to Keith (Eloy) Guyer, Margaret (Mike) Nelson, Carl (Jackie) Guyer, Stanley (Cindy Jepsen) Guyer, Belle (Sonny) Haines, Kristina (Lou Luis) Webb, Lyle Guyer, Rex Guyer, David Guyer, Joanne (Scott Magnus) Falkenstein and grandma to Anna (Derryn) VanSikel, Josie (Ricky) Watson, Kathy Guyer, Keith Guyer, Steven Challender, Penny Banner, Loren II Challender, Kathleen Oade-Challender, Lorraine Challender, Sharon (Allen) Fraley, Tammy (Tom) Henderson, Danny Guyer, Zoey (Jim) Neuner, Asia Guyer, Keegan (Danielle) Guyer, Roger (Kelly) Haines, Lisa (Scott) Getter, Renee (Trent) Lawson, Kathryn (Jeremy) Harton, Jackie Bruce, Donna (Johnny) Wooden, Teresa Wicker, Eric Wicker, Christopher (Ashley) Webb, Damon Labett, Amber (Jason) VanHoozer, Nathan Falkenstein, great-grandma to 73 grandchildren, and great-great-grandma to 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Pastor Ralph Tingley officiating. Interment was at Bosworth Cemetery, Olivet.

Jack Gyger
Jack F. Gyger, 90, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the Eaton County Medical Care Facility after an extended illness. Jack was born April 28, 1918 in Hersey, MI, the son of Fred and Mildred (Brady) Gyger and had been a Charlotte resident since 1965.
He was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School and had served in the U. S. Army during World War Two in Europe. He was a life member and past commander of the Maple City Post #2406 V. F. W., was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Saladin Shrine Temple and the Eaton County Shrine Club. He had served as a hospital volunteer at Hayes-Green-Beach and Ingham Medical Hospitals, was a Meals On Wheels volunteer and had served on the Eaton County Sheriff's Dept. Handicap Patrol office.
He was preceded in death by wives, Maxine M. (Shrontz) Gyger and Mary (Idle) Gyger; son, Dennis L. Gyger; daughter, Judith L. Richardson and sister, Betty Ann Fleetham.
Surviving are his son, Jack D. (Nancy) Gyger of Charlotte; daughter, Brenda (Robert) Fleming of Olivet; step-daughter, Mary (Steve) Latchaw of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Mark and Mike Richardson and John and Jesse Gyger; two great-granddaughters, Danielle and Lillian Gyger; four step-grandchildren, Eric and Jeremy Latchaw and Janne and Andrew Fleming and a brother, Richard (Dorothy) Gyger of Lansing.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Chaplain Gordon Phillips and V. F. W. Post #2406 Honor Guard officiating. Interment with Military Honors in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte.
