Lloyd Keeler
Lloyd Howard Keeler "Uncle Howard," 85, of Eaton Rapids, passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008 in Marshall. Howard was born Jan. 19, 1923 in Onondaga, the son of Lloyd and Bertha Ella (Kikendall) Keeler.
He was a life-long resident of Eaton Rapids and retired from G.M. Howard was a veteran of W.W.II, serving in the Army AirForce (Flying Tigers) and flew C-46's over "The Hump" between India and China.
He was a member of the Central Michigan Antique Tractor Club, Prairieville Old Fashion Farm Days, Charleton Park, St. Joe Valley, Kalamazoo Valley, and Walloon Lake Antique Tractor Clubs, and the Eaton Rapids Conservation Club.
Howard was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to play Santa Claus at the Hisler Hardware Store in Springport. His family and friends were very important to him.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Carrie Keeler; and four brothers, Forrest, Lewis, Roy, and Arthur Keeler.
Howard is survived by four brothers, Ron (Jean) Keeler of Hickory Corners, Chuck (Louise) Keeler of Springport, Dr. Van (Aino) Keeler of Shelbyville, Bob (Erlene) Keeler of Jackson; "adopted son" John (Chauna) Weeks of Eaton Rapids; several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephew, and great-grandnieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main, Eaton Rapids, with interment following at Rosehill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids.

Amanda Kelley
Amanda L. Kelley (Simmons), beloved wife, daughter and sister, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008. Mrs. Kelley was born Sept. 30, 1984 in Port Huron, MI, the daughter of Earl Simmons and Rebecca Lake.
Mrs. Kelley was a homemaker who loved and was very compassionate about her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband’s grandmother, Doris Kelley.
She is survived by her husband, Sean Kelley; daughter, Alivia Kelley; stepdaughter, Kenadi Kelley; father, Earl Simmons; mother, Rebecca Lake (Doug Holmes); brother, Earl (Ana) Simmons; sister, Adrienne Simmons; brother, Jeff (Suprena) Simmons; sister, Shannon Simmons; Aaron (Jamie) Holmes; father and mother-in-law, Randy and Debbie Kelley; brother and sister-in-laws, Travis, (Stacy) and Jennifer; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 29, 2008 at Pray Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Booth officiating. Interment was at Gresham Cemetery, Charlotte.

Doris Kelley
Doris I. Kelley, 85, of Palm Bay, FL, died Sunday, March 23, 2008. She was born Aug. 8, 1922 in Bellevue, FL, the daughter of Alvin and Bessie (Abshire) Lucius.
Mrs. Kelley like to read and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kelley; daughter, Shirley Kelley; three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy McCall of Palm Bay, FL; daughter, Betty (Jerry) Binning of Charlotte; son, Thomas (Joanne) Kelley of Palm Bay, FL; daughter, Delores (Randy) Newton of Appomattox, VA; sons, Robert (Sherri) Kelley of Anderson SC; daughter, Tracey (David) Rhodes of Hayesville, NC; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Minnie Jones of Ocala, FL and Pauline Erickson of Ft. Dodge, IA.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home in Palm Bay, FL.

Genevieve Kelley
Genevieve M. Kelley, 87 of Charlotte, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008. Mrs. Kelley was born April 19, 1921 in Charlotte, the daughter of Freeman and Bessie (Bursley) Siple.
Mrs. Kelley was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was involved in Mary Murray Circle and the Eastern Star Brookfield Chapter #352. Mrs. Kelley enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening and traveling in her later years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence Dale Kelley, Sr.; sisters, Myrtle Siple, Mildred Siple and brother, George Siple.
She is survived by her son, Laurence Kelley, Jr. of Charlotte; daughter, Mildred Kelley of Battle Creek; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Kohl of Eaton Rapids and brother, Charles (Barb) Siple of Lansing.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 27, 2008 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Pastor Robin Crouch officiating. Interment was in Gresham Cemetery, Charlotte.

Audrey Kelly
Audrey Kelly, 82, of Bellevue, passed away June 18, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Florida. Mrs. Kelly was born April 6, 1926 in Clay County, West Virginia, the daughter of Lee and Sylvia (Adkins) McKinney.
She was a ward clerk at Battle Creek Community Hospital for many years and was a member of Kalamo United Methodist Church. During Audrey's retirement she traveled to Hawaii with four of her sisters, and also traveled to Ireland.
She made several trips to Florida in the winter to spend time with her daughter and family. Audrey helped care for the elderly that were homebound in Bellevue.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Kelly; son, Edward Kelly; two grandsons, Shane and Scott Stephens, one great-grandson, two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her son, Dennis (Diane) Kelly of Bellevue; daughter, Debbie (Tommy) Oglesby of Oxford, FL; brothers, Russell McKinney of Dunden, West VA and Dana Miller of Looneyville, West VA.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Hillside Cemetery, Kalamo Township with Reverend Bruce Feigner officiating.

Ronald Kempf
Ronald L. Kempf, 43, of Vermontville, left us after a long, brave fight against cancer on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 with his loving family and friends by his side. He was born Jan. 5, 1965 in Lansing, the son of Michael and Rose (Mesler) Kempf.
Ron was an automotive painter who worked for his good friend, Rod Lea for many years. He liked to attend car shows and his motto was Live 2 Love 2 Laugh. Mr. Kempf was most proud of his family and his many longtime friends. He had a way of touching everyone's hearts and brought joy and laughter to many people’s lives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Kempf in 2005.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jill; daughter, Mindy Kempf; sons, Derrick and Brandon Kempf; father, Michael Kempf, Sr.; sister, Roxanne (John) Moore and brother, Michael (Michelle) Kempf, Jr.; father and mother-in-law, Floyd and Janet Fender; sisters-in-law, Joanna Fender, Marsha (Bob) Morris, Karen (Todd) Gonser and Lisa (John) Emenhiser; brother-in-law, Floyd (Sabrina) Fender and all his loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 10, 2008 at Pray Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Olmstead officiating. Interment was in Hillside Cemetery, Kalamo Township, Mich.

Jack Lee Kikendall
Jack Lee Kikendall, age 77, of Eaton Rapids, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2008 in Lansing. Jack was born May 6, 1931 in Hamlin Township, the son of Arlo Ray and Beatrice Minnie (Brown) Kikendall. He was a life-time farmer, operated a sawmill, and served in the Michigan National Guard. Jack loved golfing, bowling, and all sports, including “the Spartans”. He enjoyed the company of many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Kikendall.
Jack is survived by his children, Timothy Kikendall of Eaton Rapids, Cynthia Kikendall of Eaton Rapids, Linda (Andrew) McCann of Oklahoma; 2 granddaughters, Bobbi Olinger, Elizabeth Puckett; brother, William A. Kikendall of Lansing; and one niece.
Graveside services were held Monday, October 13, at the Oakwood Cemetery, Eaton Rapids. Arrangements were by the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids..
Arlene King
Arlene Pearl King, 95, of Hastings, Mich., died Dec. 30, 2008. Mrs. King was born June 22, 1913, in Charlotte, the daughter of Bernard and Ethel Garvey.
Arlene King was retired as a clerk from the Gerald Ford Airport in Grand Rapids. Mrs. King was a loving caregiver to her husband and brother.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sam Snyder; her second husband, Norton King and her brother, Charles Garvey.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Carol) Snyder of Delton and Charles (Joni) Snyder of West Branch; seven grandchildren, Kelley, Tonya, Tammy, Kevin, Jeff, Becky and Ashley and 12 great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at a later date, with interment at Maple Hill Cemetery.
