Garry H. Marsh
Our hearts break today, Monday, June 2, 2008, over losing a great man, Garry H. Marsh, 93, of Dimondale. He was born December 17, 1914, in Charlotte, the son of Garry and Nettie (Hamby) Marsh.
Everyone that knew him knows how a truly wonderful day it is for him being reunited with his wife of nearly 63 years, Jackie, who preceded him in death in 1998.
So many things can be said about what kind of man Garry was, and how he chose to live his life. He never gave his opinion unless it was asked for, and if you didn't listen then you were a fool, for I don't know a time that he was ever wrong. He was as good of a father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend that anyone could have ever asked for. He did many things over the years for Windsor Township, but in his heart and soul he was a farmer. He lived with honesty, integrity, courtesy, and a wonderful sense of playfulness that never seemed to change with age. There will be an empty place in our lives without him.
I for one would like to thank him for all the time he gave me and for all the lessons and laughter along the way. It was truly an honor to have known him, but a greater honor to be able to have called him grandpa.
Garry is survived by his sons, Morris (Joan) Marsh, and Murray (Betty) Marsh; his five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
To honor Garry, be sure to love and cherish your family. By his request, there will be no services. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice House. Arrangements by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
