Becky Ramage

Becky S. (Harris) Ramage, 52, of Olivet, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Becky was born March 12, 1956 in Marshall, MI the daughter of James O. and Janice (Persons) Harris and had lived most of her life in the Olivet area.

She was a graduated of Olivet High School and for the past 14 years has been the co-owner/operator, with her husband, of Tim’s Pizza in Olivet. She was formerly employed at Olivet College where she had held many positions. She was president of the Olivet Community Chamber of Commerce, had been extremely active in the community and was loved by everyone that knew her. She was an avid gardener and animal lover and enjoyed being outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice (Persons) Harris in 2001.

Surviving are her husband, Scott B. Ramage; father, James O. Harris of Olivet; sister, Tine (Mark) Rudolph of Battle Creek and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Pastors Jack Brown and Steve Byrens officiating. Interment was in the Lee Center Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may go to the Good Samaritan Hospice Care of Battle Creek or the Eaton County Humane Society, Olivet office.

Keith Rathbun

Loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend, Keith J. Rathbun, 76, of Eaton Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15. He was born Feb. 25, 1931 in Eaton Rapids, the son of Murville and Thelma (Hoag) Rathbun.

Keith was a graduate of the Eaton Rapids High School, class of 1949. He received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in 1953 and later his Master’s Degree. Keith enjoyed a distinguished career at the State of Michigan in the Dept. of Public Health and retired in 1991. He married his wife Mary “Molly” on July 15, 1978 and together they enjoyed family activities, golf, hunting, fishing, skiing and living life to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth “Bun.”

Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Mary “Molly”; brother, Jan and sister-in-law, Kathy; sisters, Cindy and Tricia; sister-in-law, Olive; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Margaret McGill and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Casimir Church, Lasing on Friday, Jan. 18. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to either St. Casimir Church, 815 Sparrow Ave. Lansing, MI 48910 or the First United Methodist Church, 600 S. Main St. Eaton Rapids, MI 48827.

Florence Raymond

Florence S. Raymond, 80, of Olivet, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008. Mrs. Raymond was born March 3, 1928 in Fremont Township, MI the daughter of Lloyd and Gladys (Thompson) Stanton.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Powers.

She is survived by her husband, Harold.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Pastor Samuel Graham officiating. Interment was at Perry Cemetery in Charlotte.

Rodney E. Raymond

Rodney E. Raymond, age 79, of Eaton Rapids died Monday, May 26, 2008 at the Dimondale Nursing Center. He was born March 5, 1929 in Aurelius Township, one of 6 children born to Ray and Margie (Childs) Raymond. Rod graduated from Leslie High School class of 1948. He married Norma Lou Whitney on February 11, 1950 and have recently celebrated 58 years. Rod was a hard working man often having 2 jobs at the same time. He began his career with a Bottle Gas Company, later became the proprietor of Rod’s Bar and Restaurant from 1964 – 1986 in Eaton Rapids, then later owned R.E.R. & Sons Construction installing store fixtures for Meijer from 1972 – 1980 and during the last 12 years of his life he delivered newspapers for the Flashes, Lansing State Journal, Detroit News and finally the Jackson Citizen Patriot. Preceding him in death was his daughter, Teresa Meeder in 1988; brothers, Jack and Ray J. Raymond.

Surviving are wife, Norma; 2 sons, Steven (Doris) Raymond of Onondaga and Gary (Shelia) Raymond of Aurelius; 2 daughters, Lee Ann (Cluster) Smith of Lansing and Debra (Gary) Overholt of Mulliken; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Howery of Mason and Patricia Pierson of Leslie; brother, George (Dawn) Raymond of Onondaga; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday May 30th at 11:00 a.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with burial following in the Plains Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the family in memory of Rod Raymond.

Marshall Relyea

Marshall Steven Relyea, 2, of Charlotte, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008. Marshall was born May 3, 2005, the son of Jason and Mary (Beach) Relyea.

He is survived by his parents; twin brother, Mason Relyea; brother, Kyle Numinen; sister, Jordis Numinen; brother, Ryan Numinen; sister, Maygen Relyea; half-brother, Noah Sinke; biological mother, Jennifer Balzer; grandparents, Steven (Pat) Relyea and Terry (Sharon) Beach, and Tamara Rak; and special friends, Coco Puff, and Tom and Amanda Gooding.

A special thank you to the Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care of Marshall and our family.

Funeral services were held Jan. 30, 2008 at Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church in Charlotte, with Rev. Karen Wheat officiating. Interment was at Leek Cemetery in Mason.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Rainbow Foundation of Detroit or Heartland Hospice in Mason.

Lillian Richards

Lillian A. Richards, 91, of Charlotte, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008. Mrs. Richards was born Jan. 15, 1917 in Hancock, MI, the daughter of John and Anna (Lehtola) Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Jamsen; second husband, Robert Richards; daughter, Patricia Ann Jamsen; three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Roberta (Larry) Cartwright of Charlotte; son, Richard (Jane) Jamsen of Marquette; grandchildren, Sarah (Scott) Cartwright of Washington DC and Kris (Michelle) Jamsen of Melbourne, Australia; sister, Martha (Carl) Kulla of Washington State; sister-in-law, Viola Davies; and many nieces and nephews.

No services are planned at this time.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hayes Green Beach Hospital or the Eaton Community Hospice House. Arrangements by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.

Darla Ritter

Darla Johnette Ritter (Newton), went home to be with the Lord at the age of 52, on Dec. 13, 2008.

She was loved by many family, friends, and her community. Many will remember Darla as a lunch cashier at the Waverly Middle School.

Darla enjoyed shooting pool as a member of the Greater Lansing Area BCA Pool League.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Daniel Horton and her parents, Darlena and Bruce Newton.

She is survived by her husband Steve of 14 years; four children, Jason (Teri) Horton of Charlotte, Kevin (Krista) Horton of Bellevue, Mary (Jay) Birchmeier of Laingsburg, and John (Blanca) Adams of Holt; one brother, David (Annie) Newton of Lansing. She had 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, with Pastor Jo Belknap officiating.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Marjorie Roach

Marjorie E. Roach, 76, died Saturday, March 8, 2008.

Graveside services were held March 13 at Catholic Cemetery, 3500 Lake Ave. with Father Francis Chucwuma officiating. Visitation was held at D.O. McComb & Son's, Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne.

Claude “Ted” Robbins

Claude “Ted” Robbins, 81 of Crossville, TN, formerly of Eaton Rapids, MI, passed away, Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.

He was born March 13, 1927, in Pontotoc, MS, son of Claude Elmer and Mattie Valera (Roy) Robbins. He was retired from General Motors and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Frances (Posey) Robbins of Crossville, TN; daughter & son-in-law, Debra & Dennis Morgenstern of Crossville, TN; daughter & son-in-law, Carol & Ken Beasore of Hartsville, TN; son & daughter-in-law, Trent & Kimberly of Eaton Rapids, MI; He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Mattie Valera (Roy) Robbins and father, Claude Elmer Robbins.

A Time of Remembrance was held in the Chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home on Saturday, March 22, 2008. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Cumberland County R4escue Squad from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Cumberland County Rescue Squad, 409 Fourth Street, Crossville, TN 38555. Services were performed under the direction of Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc., Crossville, TN.
