Geraldine Huff Stoner
Mrs. Geraldine Huff Stoner, age 83, of Water Street, Eaton Rapids, passed away Friday morning at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center. Her funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Bill Milholland. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will received friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Geraldine was born May 1, 1925 to the late Elmer Grant Huff and Melissa Brown Huff in Brookside, Kentucky. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She had previously been an active volunteer at the Eaton Rapids Community Hospital in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. Geraldine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, a happy and generous person. Geraldine was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph V. Stoner.
Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Mary Shelia Stoner with whom she made her home; son Ralph “Butch” V. Stoner, Jr. of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Natalie Lynn Stoner, Shannon Leigh Stoner, and Nicholas Mitchell Stoner; sisters, Joan Vandersip of Chesapeake, VA, Wanda “Beau” Whitfield of Dahlonega, GA; brother, Gayle Huff of Harland, KY
Ronald Stoudt
Ronald Patrick Stoudt II, 29, of Bellevue, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 at Nashville, as the result of a snowmobile accident. Ron was born March 3, 1978 in Orlando, FL, the son of Ronald P. and Debra (Bailey) Stoudt and had lived most of his life in the Barry, Eaton and Calhoun county areas.
He was employed as Fiber Optic Technician for Irving Cable Co. based in Charlotte. He was a member of the Arctic Cat Snowmobile Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Debra and John Judy of Olivet; father, Ronald P. Stoudt of Orlando, FL; fiancé, Darcey Carpenter of Nashville; sister, Erica (Tom Sheldon) Gordier of Olivet; brother, Travis John Judy of Olivet; grandparents, Paul and Marie Wight of Bellevue and Ken and Ethel Stoudt of Orlando, FL; two children, Chloe and Kila and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held Jan. 24, 2008 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Rev. Bryce Feighner of Kalamo United Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the Kalamo Hillside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may go to the charity of one's choice.
Virginia Stuler
Virginia H. Stuler, 86, of Charlotte, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008. Mrs. Stuler was born March 20, 1922 in Braznell, PA, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Voytovich) Herbert.
Mrs. Stuler retired from the Packard Electric Division of General Motors. She was an avid bowler and golfer.
She is survived by her son, Barry (Stormi) Stuler.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008 at Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Indian Rocks, FL. Interment was at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park in Indian Rocks.

Thomas Taggart
Thomas Neal Taggart, 70, of Eaton Rapids, who worshipped his loving wife of over 50 years, his children and grandchildren, went to be with our Lord Monday, Aug. 4, 2008. He was born March 17, 1938 in Detroit, to the late Thomas Neal Taggart, Sr. and Theda Irene Bartell Taggart.
Tom was united in marriage to Bobbie Sue Mullins Sept. 29, 1957 and she survives. Together they had three wonderful children that survive; Rhonda (Jim) Nestell; Brent Taggart, and Dana (Eric) McCarrick, all of Eaton Rapids. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Lindsay M. Rohrbacher of Marquette; Robert N. Taggart and Danielle L. Taggart, both of Mason; and Alexandra L. Nestell of Grand Ledge.
Also surviving are brothers, David of Iva, SC, Ross (Alice) of Gainsville, GA and James (Karen) of Detroit, and sister Sharon Strader of Lapeer.
Those who passed before him are his brother, Richard Taggart and nephews, Neal Taggart.
A member of Community Christian Church of Eaton Rapids, Tom retired from Michigan Bell Telephone in 1993, after 30 years of service. Most recently, Tom was employed by Massman Trucking until June of 2008.
He will remain forever in our hearts, a loving husband, dedicated father, and a doting “Grandpa T.” A gentle and kind friend to all who knew him and loved him, he will be greatly and sadly missed by all.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids, with Pastor Stephen Klink officiating. Interment was in Greenmount, KY.
Those desiring may make contributions to either the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan or the Eaton Rapids Community Christian Church in memory of Thomas Taggart.
Helen M. (Strickland) Tanda
Helen M. (Strickland) Tanda passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 5. She was born Jan. 14, 1918 to Lorin C. Strickland and Jesse Colvert Strickland in Charlotte, and has been a resident of San Jose, Calif. since 1936.
Her last trip back to Michigan was for the 65 year reunion of her graduating class of 1936.
She joins her husband of 30 years, John; and is survived by her daughters, Mary Lanier (Terry) and Carole Lee Bergara (Raymond); six grandchildren; their respective spouses; and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Sam Tanda; sisters-in-law Julie and Ida Tanda; and several nieces and nephews.
Helen's family would like to thank all those who supported her on her journey, particularly the doctors and staff of Parkinson's Institute, Los Gatos Community Hospital, Plum Tree Care Center, the caring staff of Visiting Angles of Silicon Valley, and Drs. David Wagoner, John Smith and Edward Wong.
Her indomitable spirit and her loving yet pointed comments will be sorely missed by all who loved her.
Albert Taylor
Albert Wallace Taylor, 77, of Springport, passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008 in Marshall. Albert was born April 10, 1931 in Ft. Wayne, Ind., the son of Ralph and Grace (Osborn) Taylor.
He grew up in Ft. Wayne, and after serving in the Korean War, moved to Springport, where he married Virginia (Parker) Taylor June 27, 1953.
Al worked several years at Mead Bros. Excavating, Hoag & Sons Book Bindery, and retired from the Jackson County Road Commission. He enjoyed fishing, reading, playing Euchre and vegetable gardening. Family and friends could always expect him to deliver fresh veggies, melons, sauerkraut and horseradish. He was a member of VFW 6056 Springport.
Preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (2008); son, Stan; and sister, Vivian, Al is survived by one daughter, Debra (Sanford) Wolf of Olivet, sons, Mitchell (Nicki) Taylor of Parma, Chris (Kristin) Taylor of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Terry (Stacie) Taylor of Eaton Rapids, Jessica Wandel of Parma, Jesse and Kimberly Keck of Charlotte; two great grandchildren, Joeseph and Zachary Taylor; and brothers, Ralph Taylor and Philip Taylor, both of Ft. Wayne.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 3, 2008 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids, and interment followed at Springport Cemetery, Springport.
James Taylor
James "Chuck" Charles Taylor, 56, of Charlotte, passed away on Nov. 23, 2008. Mr. Taylor was born April 16, 1952 in Detroit, the son of James C. and Mary (Dagneau) Taylor.
He married Mary McCarthy on July 6, 1974 and had three children, Andrew James Taylor of Chicago, Joseph Charles (Kiran) Taylor of Ann Arbor and Christine Marie Taylor (Joseph) Fish of Detroit. He was known as "Pops" to his grandchildren of whom he was very proud. Chuck was a property manager and salesman in the Lansing area for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary and their children and grandchildren, Arjun Jamesingh Taylor and Naveen Charlesingh Taylor; father, James Taylor; sisters, Charlene Taylor Williams of Strongsville, Ohio and Janet Taylor of San Diego, Calif.
Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 26 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Reverend Father Denis Spitzley officiating, followed by interment at Maple Hill Cemetery on Friday, Nov. 28.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Pearl Lotta Taylor
Pearl Lotta Taylor, age 100, of Eaton Rapids, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008 in Charlotte. Pearl was born March 21, 1908 in Alger, MI, the daughter of Herbert and Emma (Haymaker) Stephens. She was a member of the Columbia Road Baptist Church and Past Noble Grand in the Rebecca’s. Pearl was also a member of the Eaton Rapids Senior Center and the Camper’s Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley Taylor in 1991; son, Gary in 1963 and son, Roy in 1993; and 2 brothers, George Stephens and Herbert Stephens.
Surviving are 1 daughter, Marcia E. Hicks of Eaton Rapids; 1 son, Dale (Kris) Taylor of Mason; 5 grandchildren, Jeffery (Becky) Taylor, Kathy Lilly, Chad (Sheri) Hicks, Aaron (Sara) Hicks, Amanda (Chad) Graham; 8 great grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor & Lauren Hicks, Rayna Leven, Joey Elias, Trevor Graham, Steven Taylor and Lauren Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main, Eaton Rapids, and interment will follow at Dimondale Cemetery, Dimondale. The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Virginia “Ginny” Sue Taylor
Virginia “Ginny” Sue Taylor, 73, of Springport, passed away Friday, April 4, 2008 in Springport. Ginny was born May 2, 1934 in Springport, the daughter of Ccil Robert and Florence (Livingston) Parker.
She enjoyed anything involving her family. Ginny’s hobbies included embroidery, hand sewing (bedspreads and quilts), challenging crossword puzzles, reading biographies, baking, and making craft gifts for family and friends. Her family extends a special “thanks” to Rhonda Sunkle and Fern Caldwell for their help and comfort.
Ginny was preceded in death by her son, Stan Taylor; sister, Phyllis (Parker) McComber; and brothers, Kenneth Parker, Arthur (Bryce) Parker, and Harold (Bud) Parker.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Albert W. Taylor; daughter Debra (Stanford) Wolf of Olivet; sons, Mitchell (Nicki) Taylor of Parma, Chris (Kristin) Taylor of Charlotte; grandson, Terry (Stacie) Taylor of Eaton Rapids; step-grandchildren, Jessi and Kimberly Keck, and Jessica Wandel; great-grandsons, Joseph and Zackary Taylor; dog, Harley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 7 at Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids. Interment followed at Springport Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Human Society of South Central Michigan, Battle Creek.
