Glen Gangwer
Glen H. Gangwer, 68, of Mulliken, passed away Sept. 1, 2007. He was born Sept. 8, 1938 in Wyandotte, MI, the son of Ellsworth and Ida (Stone) Gangwer.
He married Anna Leonard on Jan. 21, 1961 in Wyandotte, MI. He worked for the Ford Motor Company for 30 years. Glen was a Jehovah Witness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister-in-law, Della Gangwer; and brothers, Garwayne and Emery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Anna Gangwer of Mulliken; sons, Brian and Debra Gangwer of Woodbury, and Timothy and Robin Gangwer of Sunfield; brother, Ellsworth Gangwer of Croswell; step-sister, Joyce and Dale Pellot of Ft. Meyers, FL; and four grandchildren, Benjamin Gangwer, Danielle Gangwer, Eric Graham, and Casey Graham.
Memorial services were held Sept. 7 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Grand Ledge on Benton Road, with Mr. Kyle Ripley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Community Hospice.

Hilda Gardner
Hilda Olive Gardner, 95, of East Lansing and formerly of Bellevue, died April 3, 2007 at St. Lawrence Hospice in Lansing. She was born Sept. 28, 1911, the daughter of Paul and Sarah (Strait) French in Vermontville.
She graduated from Vermontville High School. Hilda was a co-owner of a realty business in Bellevue. Hilda was a member of Bellevue United Methodist Church, P.E.O, Chapter CR, the Marywood Country Club, the ETC Club and the 20th Century Club. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge, collecting antique glass and art, reading poetry and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence Gardner and brother, Vernon French.
She is survived by daughters, Lana (Stephen) Wagner of East Lansing, Kay (Joseph) Kane of Houston, Texas and Sherry (John) Whalen of Chicago; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Harry French of East Lansing.
Services took place at 11 a.m. April 5 at Bellevue United Methodist Church, Pastor Virginia Heller, officiating. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial donations may go to Bellevue United Methodist Church. The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue.
John Garlow
John Richard Garlow, 82, of Charlotte, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007. Richard was born Sept. 7, 1925, in Fairmont, West Virginia, the son of John Dewey and Dorothy Mae (Moran) Garlow.
He graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1943 and went to work for the Owens Illinois Glass Company, plant 03 in Fairmont. In 1963 he transferred to plant 05 in Charlotte where he worked until 1973, when he transferred to plant 06 in Winston-Salem, NC, retiring in 1985 with 42 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Rachel Ann Porter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Marilyn; brother, Eugene (Shirley) Garlow of Poca, WV; sons, David of Charlotte, Tim of Lexington, NC, John R. II of Dallas, TX, Joe of Fowlerville; daughter, Mary Beth Hartline of N. Richland Hills, TX; son-in-law, Robert Porter of Lansing; stepsons, Robb (Vicki) Nevins and Rick (Toni) Nevins all of Charlotte; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 16, 2007 at Pray Funeral Home with Pastor Duane Royston officiating.

Glenna Garn
Glenna E. Garn, 99, of Charlotte, died Thursday, July 5, 2007. Mrs. Garn was born Feb. 29, 1908 in Dayton, TN, the daughter of Elmer and Etheline (Burchard) Shelton.
Mrs. Garn was the first Special Education teacher in Eaton County after earning her Master’s Degree in teaching. She taught elementary education for 57 years in several country schools in Eaton County, for Charlotte Public Schools and Private Schools. She was an active member of her church, involved in the Farm Bureau Women’s Group and Kitchen Band and volunteered at Hayes Green Beach Hospital for 14 years. Mrs. Garn enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, making quilts and crocheting afghans. She loved spending time with her family and making sure that no one ever left hungry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marten in 1975; sister Dana Hardy; brothers, Paul and Austin Shelton.
She is survived by her sons, Douglas (Rosemary) Garn of Alanson, MI, Richard (Mary June) Garn of Charlotte, and Roderic (Janice) Garn of Lacoma, MO; daughter, Marilyn Effner of Hastings, MI; 39 grandchildren; 112 great grandchildren and 47 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 10, 2007 at Pray Funeral Home with Elder Marty Garn, Reverend Greg Gar and Pastor Mark Woodbury officiating. Interment was in Gresham Cemetery, Charlotte.

Joseph Garnecky
Joseph Garnecky, 53, of Lansing, died Thursday, Nov. 15. Mr. Garnecky was born Sept. 2, 1954 in Lansing, the son of Edward and Josephine (Krancich) Garnecky.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Edward Garnecky, Jr.
He is survived by his mother, Josephine Garnecky of Lansing; sisters, Shannon (Hugh) Fuller of Charlotte and Cindy (Charles) Murine of Grand Ledge.
Graveside service was held Wednesday, Nov. 21 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements were made by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte;
David Edwin Gates
David Edwin Gates, age 70, of Eaton Rapids died Friday, March 9, 2007 in Bandera, TX. He was born January 1, 1937 to Frank and Esther Gates in Gaylord, MI. David was retired from GM after 42 years of service. Dave enjoyed spending time with his family, as well as traveling. He was preceded in death by both parents, his sister, Nancy (Gates) Young; two brothers, Charles and Ray Gates and his grandson, Jakob Gates.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Jedele) Gates; his children, Sheryl (Jim) Ayers of Onondaga, Brett Gates of Eaton Rapids, Kristen (Brian) Fell of Onondaga; his grandchildren, Ehricka, Cody, James, Zachary and Kylea and one great grandson, Damion.
A memorial service is being held on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Holt Baptist Church at 12:00 noon, the family will greet friends at 11:00 a.m.
Duane Eric Gault
Duane Eric Gault, age 48 of Eaton Rapids, died Monday July 9, 2007. He was born November 30, 1958 in Saginaw, the son of Robert and Nancy (Harley) Gault. Duane was a Leslie High School graduate, class of 1977. He served his country in the Navy during the Iran/Contra Conflict. Duane was a Tool & Die Maker for Edsha Manufacturing for the past 15 years in Jackson. He was an avid out-doors-man who loved fishing, had a good sense of humor and was an excellent cook. Preceding him in death was his mother, Nancy; and a brother Danny.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Laure; 2 children, Jessica (Justin) Wright of Eaton Rapids and Eric (Andrea Brewer) Gault of Eaton Rapids; 2 grandchildren, Alyssa and Logan; father, Robert (Kathy) Gault of Wellston, MI; 4 brothers, David (Tammy) Gault of Leslie, Dennis (Dawn) Gault of Colorado, Ray (Sandy) Gault of Eaton Rapids and Gary Gault of North Dakota; sister, Robin Lohrke of Leslie; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 13, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made directly to the family in memory of Duane E. Gault.
Enid Geisenhaver
Enid Geisenhaver, 92, of Potterville, died Thursday, April 12, 2007. Graveside services were held Monday, April 16, 2007 at Windsor Cemetery in Dimondale. Arrangements were made by Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte.
Leon Jack Gemalsky
Leon Jack Gemalsky, 66, of Eaton Rapids died June 18, 2007 at his residence following a terminal illness.
Born in Aurelius Township Sept. 15, 1940 on of nine children born to Julius and Emma (Keehn) Gemalsky. Leon was an Eaton Rapids High School graduate, Class of 1958 and served in the Army during the Viet Nam War. He was a retired optician for Lansing Cooperative Society. Leon enjoyed yard work, golfing, and going to the casino.
Preceding him in death were seven brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Judith; daughter, Lorraine (James) Larder of Eaton Rapids and sister, Gertrude Norris of Eaton Rapids; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, June 25 at 11 a.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with Rev. Stephen Klink officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at the Rosehill Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Contributions may be made to either the American Diabetes Association or Sparrow Home Hospice.
