Ronald Heinze
Ronald Lee Heinze, 76 of Portland, formerly of Potterville, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007. Mr. Heinze was born in Ingham County, the son of Edward and Opal (Bashore) Heinze.
He had been the owner of Heinze TV Sales & Service in Potterville for 50 years; known to many by his CB handle, "Electron Ron." He had been a member of the Potterville Chamber of Commerce, and the Eaton Area Senior Center in Charlotte. He loved the fishing and camping outings with his family and always believed in and practiced the Golden Rule.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty (Roan) Heinze; second wife, Marilyn (Patterson) Heinze; and sister, Phyllis Barrett.
He is survived by his children, Mike (Patty) Heinze of Potterville, Kathy DeGroot of Wolverine, Mark (Marsha) Heinze of Lynnwood, WA and Jeffrey Heinze of Potterville; grandchildren, Chad (Emily) White, Lisa (James) Whitten, Kristen (Bryan) Terry, Travis (Dawn) Heinze, Sara Heinze, Nicole Heinze, Tara (Luke) Harris, Trisha Caterino, Trever Heinze and Derek Willett; 16 great-grandchildren and life companion, Mona Rose.
Funeral services were held July 15, 2007 at Pray Funeral Home with Duane Willett officiating. Interment was in Benton Township Cemetery in Potterville.

Trever Heinze
Trever J. Heinze, 22, of Potterville, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007. Trever was born on Nov. 21, 1984 in Lansing, the son of Mike Heinze and Patty Heinze.
Trever was an avid outdoorsman and a traditional archer.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ronald and Betty Heinze, Minnie Sommer and Edward Sommer.
He is survived by his daughter, Mackenzie Hart-Heinze; parents, Mike (Patty Willett) Heinze and Patty (Sommer) Heinze of Potterville; his sisters, Tara (Luke) Harris, Trisha Caterino and step-brother, Derek Willett; nieces, Gabrielle, Valerie, Aurora and nephews, Lucas and Cole; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Trever is also survived by Mackenzie's mother, Joanna Hart and close friend Lisa Smith.
Funeral services were held Nov. 7, 2007 at Pray Funeral Home with Elder Mel Crowley officiating. Interment was in Benton Township Cemetery in Potterville.

Edith Heiser
Edith Marie Heiser, 103, of Bellevue, died May 2, 2007 at the Laurels of Bedford. She was born December 26, 1903, the daughter of Edward and Daisey (Ferrell) Semer in Van Wert county, Ohio.
Edith was a member of Bellevue United Methodist Church and it's Debra Circle, the Young at Heart Club and the Historical Society.
Edith was preceded in death by her husbands, Alton Hall in 1971 and Oris Heiser in 1977.
She is survived by her son Robert B. Hall of Battle Creek; daughter, Donna J. Wilson of Indianapolis, Indiana; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services took place May 7 at the funeral home. Interment was at Kalamo Cemetery.
The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue.
Douglas Henderson
Douglas Frank Henderson, age 79, of Eaton Rapids, passed away Monday, June 4, 2007 in Lansing. Doulas was born September 25, 1927 in Lansing, the son of Glen and Millicent (Uphold) Henderson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. Douglas retired from Centrifugal Fusing in 1982 after 38 years of service and enjoyed working for 20 more years with Rapids Tool & Engineering.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis (Merlington) Henderson; son, Larry Henderson; great grandson, Zane Gardner; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters, Doug is survived by his wife of 28 ½ years, Delphine “Buffy” (Stewart); son, Darrell “Kirk” (Barbara) Henderson of Marshall; daughter, Judith Gibson of Eaton Rapids; daughter-in-law, Lorene (Payne) Henderson of Eaton Rapids; 12 grandchildren, Lori (Chad) Jones, Sheila (Bill) Poland, Lynette (Todd) Gardner, Tony (Kate) Henderson, Sandra Henderson Brewbaker, Nick (Anita) Henderson, Andrew (Andrea) Henderson, Kimerly Morgan, Adam Henderson, Shannon (Mark) Martin, Josh (Akemi) Struble, Caitlin Gibson; 212 great grandchildren; sister, Dawn (Thomas) Beachnau of Lansing; sister-in-law, Freda Henderson of Berrien Springs; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 7, 2007 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids, with interment following at Deepdale Memorial Gardens, Lansing. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the First Lutheran Church of Charlotte.
Richard Henline
Richard Earl “Dick” Henline, 76, of Avon Park, FL, formerly of Vermontville, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007. Mr. Henline was born May 11, 1931 in Battle Creek, the son of Ralph and May Henline.
Richard retired from Olfson Tool and Die Corp. in Lansing. He had also worked for the Eaton County Sheriff Department, Charlotte Police Department, and had been a volunteer on the Charlotte Fire Department for several years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and May Henline.
He is survived by his wife, Marylin Henline of Avon Park, FL; brother, Harold Henline of Three Rivers; son, Gary (Anita) Henline of Charlotte; daughter, Cindy (Lloyd) Helder of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Susan (Scott) Cuttle of Charlotte, Kristy (AJ) Henline-Steele of Eaton Rapids, Dr. Timothy (Holly) Helder of Gowen, Debra (Jeffery) Saad of Chicago; seven great grandchildren, Alexzander and Zachary Cuttle, Jersey Steele, Avery and Nicholas, Jackson and Mari.
A service was held at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek on Nov. 15, 2007. He was laid to rest with full Military Honors.
Catherine Ann Henry
Catherine Ann Henry, born in Ingham County July 7, 1931, passed away April 13, in Zephyrhills, Fla. at the age of 75.
She was a member of the Harrison V.F.W. Post 1075, Ladies Auxiliary and Michigan Travel Trailer Club (MTTC), enjoyed traveling with her fifth wheel and going to Florida.
She was predeceased by her sons, Mike and Joe Henry; and grandson, David and Craig Henry and Travis Mishler.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, William M.; daughter, Jennie A. (Mark) Mishler of Charlotte; grandchildren, Andy Mishler, Jarrod Henry and Katy Henry; brothers, Louie (Trish) Hunt of Anitoch, Tenn., and Robert (Sherrie) Hunt of Potterville; sister, Joyce (Tom) Geyer of Marion.
Services were held April 20 at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge, with Rev. Rebecca K. Morrison of Potterville First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment followed at Benton Township Cemetery.

Ruth Arlene Higbie
Ruth Arlene Higbie, age 80 of Eaton Rapids passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday July 6, 2007. Born March 22, 1927 Ruth was a lifelong resident of Eaton Rapids. She married Robert Randall Higbie on June 21, 1945 and was a member of the Eaton Rapids Church of the Nazarene. Preceded in death by her mother Doris (Jones) Smart and father Edward Smart; sisters, Evelyn Brazill, Ellen Reasoner, Norma Satterlee, Betty Marquardt.
Her life revolved around her husband of 62 years and her five daughters, Sonja (John) Oatley of Lansing, Claudia (Dwight) Payne of SC, Nanette Doxsie (Terry Ranshaw) of Charlotte, MI, Theresa (Phil) Treadwell of Flushing, MI, Sherrel (Kevin) Crawley of Davidson, MI; 13 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; three sisters, Vera (Tom) Belen of Westphalia, MI, Helen (Jim) Harris of Schwartz Creek, Leota (Bob) Strobel of Eaton Rapids. Two brothers, David (Martha) Smart of Holt, Robert (Rosie) Smart of The Villages, FL.
Funeral services will be today, July 10 at 1:00 p.m. from the Church of the Nazarene at 2225 S. Michigan Rd. Eaton Rapids. Visitation was held at the church Monday evening from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene.
Robert Hillard
Robert J. Hillard, 47, of Lansing, passed away after losing his battle with leukemia on June 28, 2007. Robert was born July 5, 1959, the son of Thomas and Leona (Disbrow) Hillard.
He graduated from Eaton Rapids High School and Michigan State University. Robert was the Food Service Manager at Otto Middle School and was a member of Riverview Community Church. He loved to read.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda (Young), married in Grand Rapids in 1983; three children, Lindsey of Jackson, Kelli and Eric of Lansing; his father, Thomas (Brenda) Hillard of Lansing; mother, Leona (Bob) Barker of Eaton Rapids; two brothers, Everett and William; three sisters, Janice Lambrix, Jeri Garcia, and Erin Hillard; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids, and interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery, Aurelius.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to American Cancer Society or Ingham Hospice in memory of Robert Hillard.
Robert Allen Hipps, I
Robert (Bob) Hipps, age 76, of Radford, VA, formerly of Eaton Rapids, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 22 in Lansing. Robert was born July 13, 1931 in Morganton, NC.
Bob was a retired electrical engineer from Kollmorgen Corporation in Radford, VA and formerly of Eaton Stamping in Eaton Rapids. His education included a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and B.S. and M.A. degrees in Psychology. He was a distinguished Korean War Veteran, serving with both the United States Navy at the NATO Support Headquarters in Naples, Italy, and with the Strategic Air Command of the United States Air Force.
Preceded in death by four brothers and one sister, he is survived by two daughters, Teresa (Timothy) Miller of Potterville and Angela (Carl Towne) Hipps of New Hudson; two sons, Bob (Doris) Hipps II of Eaton Rapids and James Hipps of FL; four grandchildren, Kristopher Miller, Amy Hipps, Allen Hipps III, Carrieann Towne; one great grandson, Jason Miller; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Bonnie Alexander.
Memorial services were held Monday, Nov. 26 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids with Pastor Daniel Hofmann officiating. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the NASCAR Foundation – Victory Junction Gang Camp in memory of Bob Hipps. Life is a gift, that’s why it is called “the present.”
