Richard Bruce Raub
Richard Bruce Raub, 59, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Bellevue, died suddenly Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007. He was born Feb. 28, 1947 in Battle Creek to Clayton Elsmore and Julia Grace (Duke) Raub.
Bruce attended Bellevue High School where he excelled at football and track and was a member of FFA. He joined the Army and serviced at Ft. Knox, Ken. and in Germany and was discharged honorably after three years. He lived in Lansing after the service where he met and married his first wife, JoAnn. That union produced two children, Joel and Lyric. He later moved to the Tampa, Fla. area where he played tennis and worked construction. In the 1980's he married his second wife, Debbie and moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., where he skied and worked as a carpenter. Another son, Bryce, was born there and about 1990 he and his family returned to Florida where he worked at a tennis club. Bruce was a weight lifter and body builder and loved to play and watch tennis and football. He loved the beach and getting a tan and eating steak.
He is survived by both of his ex-wives; his sons, Joel and Bryce; his daughter, Lyric; and a grandson. Also surviving are his brothers, Robert Clayton (Bob) Raub, David Michael Raub, both of Bellevue; sister, Carol Susan Dobos of Livonia; three nephews and two nieces. He will be sadly missed.

Carolyn Redman
Carolyn E. (Betty) Smith Redman, 90, of Charlotte, died Oct. 22 in Clearwater, FL.
She was preceded in death by first husband Robert J. Smith, son, Barry R. Smith and grandsons, Kevin Jon Mills and Troy R. Smith.
Surviving are husband Dale Redman, daughter, Victoria L. Smith Mills and her husband Jon Mills; grandson, and Eric R. Mills and family, all of Oldsmar, FL.
Cremation and a scattering of ashes at sea has been carried out per Mrs. Redman's wishes. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Anne Marie (Gulliver) Reed
Anne Marie (Gulliver) Reed, age 35 of Clark Lake passed away at W.A. Foote Memorial Hospital on January 16, 2007. Anne was born on July 2, 1971 in Jackson the daughter of Ted and Betty (Steward) Gulliver.
Anne is survived by her parents and sister: Katie (Rob) Clark of Clark Lake, maternal grandmother: Marion Steward of FL, paternal grandparents: Chuck and Nina Gulliver of Eaton Rapids; aunts and uncles: Marie Dalton of Jackson, Gary (Debbie) Gulliver of Haslett, Christine (Keith) Pople of TN and Charna (Bob) Welch of Eaton Rapids. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather: Henry Ford Steward. Anne was a member of DisAbility Connections and Passages both in Jackson, the Michigan Center Bible Church, and a former member of Dancing Wheels in Hampton, VA. Anne graduated from Columbia Central High School, Adrian College and attended Grand Valley State University and was a former teacher at Columbia Central High School. Anne like being with friends and family, teaching, church activities, sailing, campfires, singing, attending and performing in musical theater. She enjoyed Clark Lake “Walks” and being with her cat. She will be remembered by her friends and family and those she would meet by her warm and bright smile. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
A healing farewell service for Anne was held on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at the Michigan Center Bible Church, John Tovey & Cindy Landrum officiated. Phyllis Reed
Phyllis M. Reed, 86, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007. Mrs. Reed was born in Lansing, the daughter of John and Madge (McQuiston) Reed.
Mrs. Reed was a painter at R.E.O. for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Michael in 1976 and Roger in 2007; brother, Thomas Reed in 1994; and sister, Lucille Fox in 1961.
She is survived by her sister, Pauline Puttbreese of Florida; sister-in-law, Janice Reed of Charlotte; niece, Patsy (Robert) Chamberlain of Hastings; nephew, Marvin (Agnes) Hill of Charlotte; niece, Yvonne (Jack) Ellis of Portage; niece, Delores (Jim) Baum of Charlotte; nephew, Jim (Jane) Fox of Charlotte; niece, JoAnn (Jack) Emery of Florida; nephew, Gerald (Karen) Fox of Charlotte; niece, Carole (Howard) Hillard of Eaton Rapids; nephew, Tom (Barbara) Reed of Parma; niece, Teri (Jim) Stroud of Olivet; and many great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. March 24 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte with John Bailey officiating. Interment was at Benton Township Cemetery in Potterville.

Roger Reed
Roger L. Reed, 56, of Charlotte, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007. A graveside service was held Monday, Feb. 5, 2007 at Benton Township Cemetery in Potterville.
Doris Laura Reese
Doris Laura Reese of Eaton Rapids, age 97, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2007 in Eaton Rapids. Doris was born July 12, 1909 in Eaton Rapids Township, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Effie Bell (Whipp) Keeler. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Eaton Rapids. Doris enjoyed playing cards (bridge, euchre & cribbage), golfing, watching Tiger Woods golfing, fishing knitting and crocheting. Preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1994.
Doris is survived by her two sons, Steven (Beth) Reese of Dacula, GA, and Richard (Barbara Grippe) Reese of Edinboro, PA; 4 grandchildren, Sam (Donna) Reese, Joe (Mary Wolf) Reese, Julie (Wesley) Taylor, Melonie (Geoff) Elmore; 6 great grandchildren, Aubrey & Canedy Reese, Cory & Valerie Elmore, Skye & Laney Taylor; and sister, Betty Miller of Eaton Rapids.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main, Eaton Rapids, with Rev. John Metcalf officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids. Her family will receive friends and family today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the First Congregation Church, Eaton Rapids, in memory of Doris Reese.
Elmer F. Reynolds
Elmer F. Reynolds of Leslie, passed away at home under the loving care of his family and hospice, on Thursday, July 5, 2007, at the age of 77.
He is survived by his two daughters, Bernice (Karl “Gabe”) Gibbs of Leslie, Floria (Mike) Franklin, daughter-in-law, Tina Cotton, seven grandchildren, Cinnamon, Michael, Tiffany, Solomon, Samantha (Russell), Shane, and Trish, eight great grandchildren, four brothers, John, David, Harley, and Kenneth, two sisters, Betty Mulkey and Jaydine Studer, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Reynolds and one son, Floyd Henry Reynolds.
Funeral services were held at the J. C. Adams Funeral Home on July 9, 2007 with Pastor Mark Eckert officiating. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with the final expenses.
Luella Ruth Reynolds
Luella Ruth Reynolds, age 76 of Eaton Rapids died Wednesday, February 28, 2007 in Lansing. She was born July 18, 1930 in Mason MI, the daughter of Elmer and Letha (Wright) Donaldson. Ruth was a former Ward Clerk and Practical Nurse for the Eaton Rapids Community Hospital retiring in 1974. She was preceded in death by her son, James Reynolds; brothers, William, Clyde, Glenn and Ike Donaldson; sisters, June Sich and Aileen Roosa.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, E. Ray Reynolds; children, Richard Reynolds of Muskegon, Sharon Wiltse of Eaton Rapids, Paul (Ronda) Fotis of Dallas, TX, Debbie (Rusty) Simons of Eaton Rapids, foster daughter, JoAnn (Bill) Margetson of Laingsburg; 23 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane (Gene) Fifield of Barryton and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on March 3, 2007 from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with the Rev. Scott Boles officiating.
David Rhoden Sr.
David Clifton Rhoden Sr., 56, of Sunfield, passed away Monday, March 19, 2007, where he was living on Third Street. He was born Feb. 1, 1951 in Ionia, the son of Clifton William and Barbara Jane (Herron) Rhoden Kill.
Mr. Rhoden graduated from Lakewood High School. He was employed at Carefree Windows in Charlotte for 30 years.
David was preceded in death by his mother and father, Barbara and Russell Kill; and two sisters, Carole Hawkins and Sally Melton.
Surviving are his three children, David Clifton (Beth) Rhoden Jr. of Lake Odessa, Angel Marie Rhoden and Tony Lee Rhoden of Mulliken; six grandchildren, Cheyenne Bunch, Robert Bunch, Trey Rhoden, Tatiana Rhoden, Thaylyn Rhoden, and Emily Rhoden; sister, Kathy Debbler; and brother, Tim Kill.
A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. March 22 at Sunfield Cemetery with Rev. Jeffrey J. Schrock of the Sunfield United Methodist Church officiating. For those wishing, contributions may be made to the charity of their choice in memory of Mr. David Clifton Rhoden Sr.

Mary Ripley
Mary A. (Cain) Ripley, 72, of Marshall, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007 at Tendercare of Marshall. Mary was born Dec. 15, 1934 in Plymouth, Indiana, the daughter of James McKinley and Bessie (Hartsoch) Cain and was a longtime Eaton and Calhoun County area resident.
She was a graduate of Olivet High School and was a member of the Marshall Church Of Christ. She enjoyed square dancing and listening to the "Michigan Fiddlers."
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arlo Ripley, sister, Thelma Rains and brother, Darrell Cain.
Surviving are, her sister, Jane Brangwyn of Bellevue; her brother, James McKinley Cain of Lake Placid, FL; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Jim and Donna Nail of Marshall.
Funeral services were held Sept. 6, 2007 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Jason Schick, minister of the Marshall Church of Christ officiating. Interment was in the Perry Cemetery in Brookfield Township. Memorials may go to the charity of one's choice.
