E. Geraldine Schrock
E. Geraldine (Potter) Schrock, 84, of Battle Creek, formerly of Bellevue, went to be with her Lord May 23, 2007 at her daughter’s home in Nashville.
She was born Jan. 29, 1923, the daughter of Heman E. and Ellen M. (Griswold) Babcock in Burley, Idaho. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1942.
Geraldine married Charles Lee Potter. They lived in the Bellevue area throughout their marriage and owned C. L. Potter Bottled Gas in Bellevue. Charles died in 1973. Geraldine moved to Keystone Heights, Fla. after she married Clyde Schrock in 1974. He preceded her in death in 2004. Geraldine was a member of the Bellevue First Baptist Church and the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Her calling in life was to share the grace and salvation of Jesus Christ. She loved her family, the outdoors and traveling.
She was also preceded in death by sisters, Marie Kibby Smith, Alice Church, Betty Hemry; and brother, Henry Babcock.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Jill) Potter of Ann Arbor, Ed (Ramona) Potter of Bellevue; daughters, Dena (Jim) Miller of Nashville, Nancy (Jimmie) Hughes of Alpharetta, Ga.; stepchildren, Roger (Linda) Schrock of Mackinac Island, Lyle (Sue) Schrock of Texas, Joyce (Phillip) Bruton of Texas; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The celebration of her life service took place May 27, 2007 at Bellevue First Baptist Church with Pastor Don Francis, officiating. Interment, Riverside Cemetery, Bellevue.
Memorial donations may go to Bellevue First Baptist Church or Lifespan-Good Samaritan Hospice Care.
The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue.
Howard “Sam” Schrum
Howard K. Schrum of Charlotte, 75, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007. Mr. Schrum, known to many as "Sam," was born Jan. 28, 1932 in Oil City, PA, the son of Samuel and Genevieve (Snow) Schrum and had been a Charlotte resident since 1967.
He had been employed as a forming machine operator for Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Charlotte from where he retired in 1994. He was a life member of the Oil City Masonic Lodge and was currently a member of the West Carmel Congregational Church of Charlotte.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane (Aaron) Schrum in 1997.
Surviving are, two sons, Ricky (Jean) Schrum of Olivet, and Daniel (Cynthia) Schrum of Ottawa, IL; four grandchildren, Lucas Schrum, Chanda Schrum, Amy (Sean) Davidson and Eric Schrum; three sisters, Patricia Thomas of PA, Mary Carl and Dori Kovalcheck both of OH and loving friend, Marlene Siefert of Charlotte.
Funeral services were held Aug. 15, 2007 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Rev. Darwin Kuhl officiating. Interment was in the Bosworth Cemetery near Olivet.

Randall Schultz
Randall S. Schultz, 51, of Charlotte, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007. Randy Schultz was born May 13, 1956 in Charlotte, the son of Douglas and Jean (Griffen) Schultz.
Randy Schultz was a fourth generation blacksmith/ferrier of his family. He enjoyed horse pulling and pony pulling in his younger years, gardening, canning, cooking, deer hunting and ice fishing. He was a NASCAR and MSU fan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Schultz.
He is survived by his sons, Jarrod (Casey) Schultz and Tony Schultz both of Charlotte; grandchildren, Spencer, Brooke, Brayden and Kayla; mother, Jean Priesman; sisters, Terri Craft of Connecticut, Deb (Phil) Fisher of Connecticut and Trudy (Rod) Lea of Charlotte and ex-wife, Denise Williams.
Funeral services were held Oct. 26, 2007 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte with Reverend Darwin Kuhl officiating. Interment will be at West Carmel Cemetery in Charlotte.

Ardis Schulze
Mrs. Ardis M. Schulze, 82, of Nashville, was taken home to her Lord after her brief struggle with cancer on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007 at Eaton Community Hospice, Charlotte. Ardis was born March 22, 1924 in Nashville the daughter of the late RD and Bertha (Jequette) Phillips.
She attended Nashville schools and graduated from W.K. Kellogg High School in 1948. She was the widow of Earl Schulze who passed away in 1961. The couple was married in 1953 and made their home in the Nashville area where they raised their family together. Ardis was employed as a nurses aide for 20 years. She was a member of the Nashville VFW Post 8260 and the Nashville Church of the Nazarene. Ardis loved her church family deeply and enjoyed being active in many church activities through the years. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, needle work, crocheting, cooking and dancing. She also enjoyed watching sports on television, and along with her son-in-law, Larry, would cheer on the Maize and Blue of U of M. Ardis was loved deeply by her family and will be sadly missed. May she rest in peace in the Lord's heavenly home until we meet again. We love you mom!
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl D. Schulze; her son-in-law, Phillip Hudson; her brothers, Harold, Rex, John and an infant brother, Arlo.
She is survived by her daughters, Ella (Art) Allwardt, Alesia Ann (Larry) Wisniewski, and Blanche Hudson; her son, Keith (Precious) Schulze; her brothers, Leslie (Yoshiko) Phillips and Lloyd (Joyce) Phillips. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 5 at the Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville with Pastor Steve Olmstead officiating. Interment followed the service at Lakeview Cemetery, Nashville. The family requests donations to the family of Ardis Schulze.

Jack Schwied
Jack J. Schwied, 86, born in Eaton Rapids, passed away Aug. 5, 2007.
Jack and his family moved to Sarasota 50 years ago this month. His lifelong love of the water, both as a vocation and an avocation, has been passed along to his family, who continue his passion as sailors, skiers, fishermen, swimmers, scuba divers, and boat crew.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Lou Schwied; sisters, Lois Lease (Ralph) Miller and Reba (Charles) Frodermann; and loved wife of 58 years, Virginia Schwied, who passed away in 2002.
Jack is survived by his son, Ron (Jean) Schwied; and daughter, Nancy Lambe; four grandchildren, Ron Jr. (Danielle) Schwied, Shannon (Chad) Davie, Kristy Lambe, and Julie Lambe; and six great grandchildren, Morgan, Alicia, Emma, Maren, Addisyn, and Nicholas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Pines of Sarasota where Jack lived the past several months and Virginia donated time as a volunteer.
Dick Scott
Dick Scott, age 77 of Eaton Rapids died Saturday, May 26, 2007 in Lansing. Born September 3, 1929 in Eaton Rapids the son of Allan and Dacia (Kelly) Scott. Dick was an Eaton Rapids High School and Michigan State University graduate. He served as a merchant Marine during WWII, and retired after 30 years of service from General Motors in Lansing. Following retirement Dick and his wife Esther enjoyed several years at their home in Florida. Preceding him in death was his wife Esther (Twichell).
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Tracy (Sheldon) Freeman of Eaton Rapids and Sally Scott of Cleveland, OH; 4 grandchildren, John (Kim) Freeman of Eckert, CO, Jill (Rick) Trierweiler of Charlotte, Benjamin and Bridgette Scott both of Cleveland; 2 great grandchildren, Danielle and Courtney Freeman, several nieces and nephews.
It was Mr. Scott’s request that there be no services and that cremation take place. The family is being served through Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. Judy Scutt
Judy Ann Sode Scutt, 63 of Higgins Lake , Mich., died July 30, 2007, with her family by her side. She was born July 17, 1944 in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of William and Betty (Printz) Sode. Judy retired from the State of Michigan and was a member of Grovenburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing, loved her collection of lighthouses and playing Bingo.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Lorrie (Jim) Kennedy of Charlotte and their children, Kayla, Broc, Morgan and Alyssa; her son, Jimmie (Lourie) Shannon of Bellevue and their children, Jenna and Casie; sister, Kathy (Jim) Pocklington of Holt, a special friend, Micheal (Cody) Knight and her adopted mother, Darlena McDaniels.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard in 1986; grandma, Susie in 1987 and sister, Jean in 1999.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, with John Bailey officiating at Pray Funeral Home. Interment will be at Deepdale Cemetery in Lansing. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2007, at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice. John L. Sealy
John L. Sealy, 86, of Grand Ledge, passed away Dec. 29, 2007 in Lansing.
He was born in Arkadelphia, Ark. Sept. 9, 1921 the son of Steven and Clara (McCowan) Sealy.
Sealy was a veteran of WWII serving four years with the U.S. Navy. He retired from Fisher Body, Lansing with 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge #108 of Lansing, and avid golfer, pool player and enjoyed playing poker. Sealy was also a holder of a black belt in karate.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ila M.; daughters, Darlene (William) Graham of Grand Ledge, Kristie Fleckenstein of Tallahassee, Fla., Teri (Tim) Sime of Grand Le4dge; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Elsie Kernodle of Tennessee.
Services were held Jan. 3 at the Peers & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge with Rev. Richard McKenzie of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Grand Ledge officiating. Interment followed at the Delta Center Cemetery, Delta Township.
