Miriam Wood
Miriam E. Wood, 92, of Charlotte, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007 in Lansing. Mrs. Wood was born May 25, 1914 in Charlotte, the daughter of Fred and Hazel (Baker) Briggs.
She had been a bank teller for the Michigan National Bank, until her retirement.
She is survived by nephews, Fred Briggs, Jason (Lori) Briggs, Lee (Arla) Barnhill, and Dan (Gwen) McDaniel; nieces, Susan (Rick) Stauffer and Shannon (Daman) Chenault; grand-nephew, John McDaniel; and grand-niece, Janet (Miguel Cintron) McDaniel. She was preceded in death by husband, Joseph Wood; brother, Harold Briggs and sister, Lucille McDaniel.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Pray Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte, with Rev. Arthur Salisbury officiating.
Helen Woodbeck
Helen C. Woodbeck of Charlotte, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007.
Mrs. Woodbeck was born Oct. 31, 1925 in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada, the daughter of Edwin and Sigred (Hedstrom) Skogmo and had been a United States resident since 1945.
She became a U.S. Citizen in the late 1990’s.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Charlotte, a member of the former Charlotte Rebekahs, the Mothers Club and during the 1963 Charlotte Centennial was a member of the Charla-Belles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Gayle Woodbeck in 2006; granddaughter, Candace Ann Woodbeck in 2002; great granddaughter, Laura Elizabeth Woodbeck in 1991; brothers, Harry and Norman Skogmo and nephews, Lorne King.
Surviving are four children, Dave (Peggy) Woodbeck of Charlotte, Alan (Jeri Olson) Woodbeck of Charlotte, Barb (Dan) Martin of Charlotte and Judy (Chris) Tuller of Tawas City; nine grandchildren, Bryan (Susan) Woodbeck, Jason (Angie) Cove, Joel Cove, Celena (Matt) Bruch, Carli (Trevor) Bulmer, Charlie Martin, Steven (Liz) Martin, Jeremy (Celecia) Tuller and Lacie (Shane) Kelly; 17 great grandchildren, Matthew and Courtney Woodbeck, Britney and Briana Lashley, Alec, Mitch and Zane Cove, Gage and Aubrey Bruch, Noah, Elsa and Annika Martin, Kaden and Tessa Kelly, Avery and Quinn Tuller and Christian Ibarra; one sister, Lillian (Corbin) King of Terrace, B.C. and numerous Canadian relatives.
Funeral services were held Nov. 7, 2007 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Rev. Philip Hobson officiating. Interment was in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Congregational Church or the Eaton Community Hospice.

Wesley Woodbury
Wesley Howard Woodbury, 57, of Crouse, NC, formerly of Olivet, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007 at the Presbyterian Hospital Hospice Unit in Charlotte, NC.
Wesley was born July 1, 1950 in Toledo, Ohio the son of Howard W. and Etta (Holton) Woodbury.
He was a truck driver, having retired due to ill health.
He was a member of the Cornerstone Family Church, enjoyed woodworking and liked to “tinker.”
Surviving are his wife, Linda (Holmes) Woodbury; four children, Nora (William) Dean of Nashville, Ronald Daniels of Gastonia, NC, Billy (Myranda) Woodbury of Hastings, MI and Paula (Jeff) Carver of Bessemer, NC; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Nov. 13, 2007 at the Burkhead-Green funeral Home, Charlotte, MI with Rev. Douglas Hammond officiating.
Interment was in the Bosworth Cemetery, Olivet, MI.
Those serving as pallbearers are, Donald Daniels, Billy Woodbury, P.J. Davis, Amber Volker, Denise Woodbury and Al Sweet.

Charles E. Wright
Charles E. Wright, 79 of Charlotte, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007.
Mr. Wright was born Oct. 5, 1928 in Lansing, the son of Burr and Muriel (Mullens) Wright.
Mr. Wright was employed by Chaney Block in Lansing for 18 years and also was a farmer in the Potterville area.
He was a former Lions Club member and loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; step-sons, Harland (Rosanne) Elliott of Charlotte, Scott Cussion of Baine, Steve Kelly of Portland and Mark Kelly of Birch Run; step-daughters, Judy (Frank) Sika of Charlotte, Shannon Harmon of Charlotte and Carol Brown of Charlotte; brothers, Burr (Sondra) Wright of Wyoming and Patrick (Dorothy) Wright of Flint; brother-in-law, David Hugger of Lansing and sister-in-law, Beverly Wright of Lansing.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn; sister, Patty, Georgia Satterlee, Cathleen Dungroe, Gracie Hugger and Janet Rogers; brothers, Ernest, and Harold.
Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 15 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte with Pastor Robert Carpenter officiating.
Interment was at Benton Township Cemetery in Potterville.

Henry George Wright
Henry George Wright Sr., 87, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., formerly of Charlotte, died Nov. 15, 2007.
He was born Oct. 25, 1920 in Lakeview to the late Ernest and Lucille (Wilson) Wright.
Henry worked for General Motors Oldsmobile in Lansing during his working years, was a member of Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church and a member of the Indiana, Michigan, Ohio Club of Horseshoe Bend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Anna Baltzer Wright, son James Wright, brother Ernest Wright (Sonny) and a step-great-granddaughter Shelby Wright.
Henry is survived by his wife, Alice of Horseshoe Bend; two sons, Henry Wright Jr. of Norman, Okla. and Jack Wright of Bloomfield; one step-son, Leonard E. Brown of Sunfield; three daughters, Joan Edmonds of Muir, Karen Huesca of Lake Mary, Fla. and Karolyn Wright of Holt; two step-daughters, Susan Rice of Sunfield and Tracy Brown of Sunfield; four sisters, Katherine Howard of Marshall, Beverly Hadley of Zephyrhills, Fla., Janet Bryner of Charlotte and Sally Buckley of Belding; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Nov. 29 at Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Goldman officiating.
Also, a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Dec. 6 at the Potterville United Methodist Church with Rev. Becky Morrison.
Ruth Wright
Ruth (Lovell) Wright, 97, of Potterville, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007.
Mrs. Wright was born Aug. 16, 1909 in Vermontville, the daughter of Arby and Minnie (Campbell) Lovell and was a life-long resident of Eaton County.
She had lived in the Potterville area since 1935.
She was a graduate of Charlotte High School and graduated from Western Michigan University.
She taught school in Corunna before raising her family and later taught in the Eaton Rapids Elementary Schools from where she retired. She was a member of the Potterville United Methodist Church, the Potterville O. E. S., was an Eaton County 4-H Leader, a former Potterville Village Council member and a former Potterville School Board member.
She authored the book, "History of Potterville" and a book of poetry entitled "On Wings of Love."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Wright in 1988; and by brothers, Gordon and Ellis Lovell.
Surviving are her two sons, Eldon (Carol) Wright and Gordon (Claudia) Wright, both of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Todd and Dan Wright, Craig and Troy Wright and Lisa Sterley; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Benton Township Cemetery with Rev. Rebecca Morrison officiating.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Potterville United Methodist Church.
