Jerry Croll
Jerry Croll, 56, of Charlotte, died Monday, July 17, 2006 in Lansing after an extended illness. Jerry was born Aug. 11, 1949 in Lansing the son of Jack and Rolande Croll and had been a Charlotte resident for 25 years.
He was a retired pressman for John Henry Co. of Lansing with over 25 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rolande Croll.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Janice (Rose) Croll; three children, Jeffrey (Ilene) Croll, Jennette Croll and Chris Croll, all of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Kelsey, Spencer and Teegan Croll; brother, Phillip (Julie) Croll of DeWitt; sister, Patricia (Dan) Kempton of Grand Ledge; and his father, Jack Croll of East Lansing.
Funeral services were held July 20 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Ray Black officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte.

Martha D. Cunningham
Martha Donnie Cunningham, 61, of Charlotte, was called home by Jesus after a long courageous battle with many illnesses on Monday, Dec. 18, 2006. Ms. Cunningham was born May 7, 1945 in Monterey, Calif. the daughter of Rev. Charles and Christine (Wilson) Moreland.
Ms. Cunningham graduated from Charlotte High School in 1964. She was formerly a hairstylist with her degree from Wrights Beauty Academy in Battle Creek. Being involved with her church as a Youth Group Director and singing in the choir were among some of the things she enjoyed most. She was a loving and devoted mom to her son Bryan, and an inspiration to all who knew her. Ms. Cunningham's favorite hymn was "The Anchor Holds."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cunningham.
She is survived by her son, Bryan Cunningham of Florida; grandchildren, Bryanna and Caitlyn Cunningham of Peabody, Mass.; her parents, Rev. Charles (Christine) Moreland of Charlotte; sister, Pat (Eldon) Howe of Charlotte; faithful and loyal companion and caregiver for 21 years, David Harris; aunts, uncles and cousins from Michigan, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida; nephew, David (Eldora) Howe; great-nieces, Keisha and Erron (Matt) Pion; great-great-niece, Brooke and great-great-nephew, Ty Pion.
Funeral services were held Dec. 22 at Pray Funeral Home with Pastor Jesse Buie and Rev. Charles Blaniar officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte. The family would like to give a special thanks to all of Martha's many faithful friends. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Dr. R. Bruce Curry
Dr. R. Bruce Curry DDS, 61, of Eaton Rapids, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 in Charlotte.Bruce was born June 1, 1944 in Chico, Calif., the son of Robert Kingdon and Winifred (Cobleigh) Curry. Bruce was a graduate of Homer High School, class of 1962, a graduate of the University of Michigan College of Dentistry and a member of the U of M Alumni Association. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Dr. Curry practiced dentistry in Eaton Rapids for 33 years and was a member of both the Michigan and American Dental Associations. He was president of the Eaton Rapids Rotary Club twice, and a past president of the Eaton Rapids Community Hospital Board. He was an avid golfer and member of Duck Lake Country Club.
Surviving are: his wife of 38 years, Janice (Camburn); two sons, Scott Curry of Holland, William (Regan) Curry of Galloway, Ohio; two grandchildren, Madison and Grant Curry; two brothers, Charles Curry of Okemos, David (Terri) Curry of San Jose, Calif; one sister, Carolyn (Don) Larsen of Calgary, Alberta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Feb. 4 at First United Methodist Church in Eaton Rapids.
Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice, Eaton Rapids Medical Center or Sparrow Cancer Center. Arrangements were by Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids.
Hazel B. Curtis
Hazel B. Curtis, 82, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Curtis was born March 2, 1924 in Andersonville, Tenn., the daughter of Rufe and Siotha (Harmon) Polston.
Mrs. Curtis retired in 1987 after 36 years of service from Aluminum Extrusions as an Aluminum Finisher. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening and was an excellent cook.
Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1999; son, Donald in 1996; and sisters, Estella, Mima, Gertie, Faye and Jean.
She is survived by a son, Robert G. Curtis of Charlotte; a daughter, Joan (Daniel) Haigh of Charlotte; 10 grandchildren, Scott (Devon) Lavengood, Kirk Lavengood, Gregg (Michelle) Lavengood, Lori (Kevin) Carleton, Tracy Ashley, Jeffery Curtis, Dana (Sonny) Glass, Camie (Steve) Schneider, Jason (Sarah) Haigh, Dee Cee Curtis; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, France (June) Polston; sisters, Stella Green, Annie Scarlett and Shirley Latour; sisters-in-law, Hazel Bauman and Marge Hutchinson; brother-in-law, Willard (Celene) Curtis; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sept. 17 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte with Pastor Bob Homan officiating. Interment was at Perry Cemetery in Brookfield Township.

Verlie M. Curtis-McDonald
Verlie M. Curtis-McDonald of Eaton Rapids, age 97, died Tuesday, December 26, 2006 in Jackson. Verlie was born August 28, 1909 in Boyne City, the daughter of Roy Ackley and Evelene (Howie) Cady. She was a co-owner of Coast to Coast Hardware Store in Eaton Rapids and a member of the First Baptist Church, Eaton Rapids. Preceded in death by 2 husbands, Leland Curtis and Norman McDonald; 4 brothers, Perry, Bill, Don and Joseph Cady; 3 sisters, Elizabeth Chew, Lois Winters and Mable Raymer.
Verlie is survived by 5 daughters, Marjorie Hogle of East Lansing, Elenore Devers of Eaton Rapids, Norma Chapman of Fort Myers, FL, Kay (Ward) Page of Dover, TN, and Janice (Terry) Dean of Bradenton, FL; 2 sons, Lon (Judy) Curtis of Eaton Rapids, Dean Curtis of Phoenix, AZ; 22 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; 1 sister, Margaret Giddings of Eaton Rapids; 2 sisters-in-law, Gladys Cady and Lillian Cady, both of Eaton Rapids.
Funeral services were held on December 29, 2006 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main, Eaton Rapids. Interment followed at Draper Cemetery, Rives Junction. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Haven Ranch, Rives Junction and envelopes are available at the Funeral Home.
Harold R. Danielson
Harold R. “Bud” Danielson, 85, of Dimondale, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006 at a Lansing Hospital following a long illness.
Mr. Danielson was born April 9, 1920 in Iron Belt, Wis., a son of Harry and Mary (Formolo) Danielson. He was a World War II veteran and a retired mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine, in 2002.
Surviving are: his daughter, Yvonne (Steve) Sacheck of Grand Rapids; three sons, Carl Danielson of Tacoma, Wash., Tom (Marshell) Danielson of Lansing and Dennis Danielson of Dimondale; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Dottie Flateau of Montreal, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Jan. 21 at Field & Leik Funeral Home, Dimondale, with Pastor Ron Klepal of West Lansing Church of Christ officiating. Military honors were given at Dimondale Cemetery by VFW Post 701.
Pallbearers were; Thomas and David Danielson; Lester Hall; and Steven, Andy and David Sacheck.
Hilda M. Davis
Hilda May (Wells) Davis, 80, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006 at Ingham Medical Center in Lansing. Mrs. Davis was born May 15, 1926 in Brookfield Township the daughter of Stanley and Foy O. (Parshall) Wells.
She had worked at Wilcox Gay and had been a nurses aide in the home health care field. She loved country music, especially Loretta Lynn and Lynn Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Morrison in 1974 and daughter, Tyrrie Metters in 2004.
She is survived by children, Gary (Jeannie) Morrison, Marilyn (Ernie) Baker, both of Charlotte and Foy Jean (Ronald) Hackler of Bradenton, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and brother, Kenneth (Maryanna) Wells of Charlotte.

Randy L. Davis
Randy Lee Davis, 42, of Charlotte, died Jan. 31, 2006.
Randy was born April 30, 1963. He was a longtime resident of Charlotte. Randy was a graduate of Meadowview School and in 1987 became an employee at Peckham Vocational Industries in Charlotte, where he successfully completed a wide variety of production jobs. In both school and work, Randy was responsible and devoted to the task at hand. He received an “Outstanding Student” award in 1989 at the Capital Area CEC Big Event. Randy was passionate about bicycles, and was often seen riding his bike around Charlotte. He was a self-taught bicycle mechanic, and was proud of those skills. Randy had many good friends at Peckham and around the community. He was a gentle soul, whose appreciation for life, love for his friends, humor and heart-warming smiles are etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
Surviving are: his mother, Pauline Davis of Charlotte, and long-time friend, Nancy Reed of Charlotte. A special thanks to Eaton Community Hospice for the loving care they provided during the last month of Randy’s life.
Funeral services were held Feb. 3 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
