Milton Faynor
Milton Faynor, age 87, of Eaton Rapids, died Wednesda, April 12, 2006 at the Eaton Community Hospice in Charlotte. He was born April 18, 1918 in Chicago, IL, the son of Samuel and Kathryne (Zvodney) Fajnor. Mr. Faynor was a life long farmer in rural Eaton Rapids. He was a member of the Czechslovakian Society of America. Mr. Faynor was a pilot who enjoyed flying his float plane with family into Canada several times a year to their cabin for walleye fishing trips and also took up parachuters out of the old Miller’s airstrip in Eaton Rapids. Preceding him in death were his wife Mary in 2000; and brother Sam Fajnor.
He is survived by his 4 children, Bud (Judy) Faynor of Eaton Rapids, Douglas (Sheron) Faynor of Woodburn, OR, Patricia (Danny Brown) Faynor of Eaton Rapids and Craig Faynor of Orlando, FL; 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Steve (Joyce) Fajnor of Charlotte and sister, Olga Vitosky of Rantool IL; sister-in-law, Florence Fajnor of Eaton Rapids and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 15 from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with burial following in the Center Eaton Cemetery in rural Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Eaton Community Hospice in memory of Milton Faynor.
Jerrold “Jerry” E. Fernald
Jerrold “Jerry” Fernald of Eaton Rapids, age 66, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2006 at his home, surrounded by family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jerry was born December 16, 1939 in Leslie, the son of June E. and Vida (Montgomery) Fernald. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a life-long farmer, and retired from Oldsmobile as a machine repairman after 35 years of service. Jerry was a volunteer fireman for Hamlin Township and member & sponsor of A.A. Preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kylee Foote.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Susan Fernald; children, Jon Fernald, Carrie (Scott) Twichell and Rhonda Bodell; step-children, Brian (Peggy) Ross and Kimberly (Matt) Cooper; 11 grandchildren, Joeb Fernald, Kristin & Anthony Twichell, Stephen & Kathryn Bodell, Ruben (Bethany) Pena, Sierra Pena, Rebekah & Samuel Ross, Whittney & Nitasha Cooper; 1 great-grandchild, Audrey Pena; brother, David (Colleen) Fernald; 5 sisters, Coral (Alan) Reed, Marge (Richard-deceased) MacKinder, Faith Maddox, Peggy (Ron) Courtier; Cynthia (Rick) Sanford; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main, Eaton Rapids with interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Dorothy V. Fisher
Dorothy V. (Chelsey) Fisher, 88, of Eaton Rapids and formerly of Leslie, died Monday July 3, 2006 in Eaton Rapids. She was born July 24, 1917 in Onondaga, one of eight children born to Lorenzo and Miriam (Bement) Chelsey.
Mrs. Fisher was formerly employed as a clerk for W.R. Thomas Five and Dime Store in Eaton Rapids. She was also known for her arrangements with wood fiber flowers and had received many ribbons for her crochet work at craft shows. She had been very active with the Square Dance Club in Mason and the Swing-um-Gingham group and was a former member of the Leslie Methodist Church and attended the Brookfield United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death were her husbands, Carl Edward Beers in 1962 and James “Bill” Fisher in 1987; two daughters, Norma Canfield and Virginia Sanders; granddaughter, Cindy Bowles; special niece, Beverly Locke and her seven brothers and sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Carl (Rhonda) Beers of Leslie, Norman (Marilyn) Beers of Mason; two sons-in-laws, Richard Sanders of Springport and Wilford Canfield of Eaton Rapids; three step-daughters, Barbara (William) Alberts of Charlevoix, Marilyn (Robert) Sanderson of Stone Mountain, Ga. and Shirley Bennett of Dimondale; 26 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held July 8 at the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Leslie.

Gaylord Charles Fleming
Gaylord Charles Fleming, 75, of Charlotte died Saturday, July 8, 2006. Mr. Fleming was born Oct. 9, 1930, in Lansing, the son of Howard and Helen (Farrenkopf) Fleming.
He worked for GM-Oldsmobile until retirement in 1988.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Fleming in 1987 and brothers Robert and Jack.
He is survived by his wife, Rita; step-sister, Diane Chudley; sisters-in-law, Ida Fleming, Reva Rusk and Betty Wilman; brothers-in-law, Frank E. DeZess, Vern John DeZess and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held July 17 at Pray Funeral Home with Pastor Rich Mitterling officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Lansing. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Denelda M. Fonville
Denelda Margaret Fonville, 90, of Coolidge, Ariz., passed away at home on April 13, 2006. Mrs. Fonville was born Sept. 5, 1915 in Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Ernest G. and Mary J. (Craig) Davids.
She moved to Arizona 39 years ago and retired as a school teacher. She is survived by her son, Roy Fonville of Coolidge and was preceded by her husband, Homer Fonville in 1997, and sister, Kathleen Davids in 2003.
Services were held in Arizona. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.

Kylee Anne Foote
Kylee Ann Foote, age 20 of Onondaga died October 15, 2006 as the result of an automobile accident. She was born June 18, 1986 to Gina Foote and Jon Gernald. Kylee graduated from Leslie High School, class of 2005. She currently worked as a clerk at Clone’s Party Store in Onondaga, worked with Dr. Mason Sampson in Tompkins Center and because of her love for animals, she was studying to become a Veterinarian Technician at Baker College in Jackson.
Left to grieve her passing is her mother, Gina, brother; Joeb Fernald, grandfather; Don Foote, Uncle Joel and Aunt Tina Foote, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services were held on October 20, 2006 from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with the Rev. William Muller officiating. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made to the Ingham County Humane Society in memory of Kylee Anne Foote.
Jack H. Forell
Jack H. Forell, 91, of Charlotte, passed away, surrounded by his family, on Monday, Sept. 18, 2006. Jack lived 84 of his 91 years on North Cochran Road in Charlotte. He farmed on more than 600 acres and his grandson continues the tradition on the same “home farm” as the fourth generation Forell farmer. Eaton County residents have been familiar with the Forell name since the 1920s, when Jack worked on his dad’s award-winning dairy Farm. In 1934, Jack was mayor of Charlotte High School, was an All-State football players and continued his civic duties throughout his lifetime as Supervisor of the Eaton County Board of Commissioners, a member of the Hayes Green Beach Hospital Board, was elected to the Miers rural school board, was an instrumental board member in bringing the critically needed Eaton County Medical Care Facility to Charlotte. For more than 22 years, Jack and his wife, Frances, owned and operated a vegetable canning plant, employing at times, more than 100 employees. During his retirement years, Jack stayed active spending time with his grandchildren, wood working, caning furniture and was well known in the community for teaching caning and building, from scratch, beautiful grandfather clocks. Jack was a member of the West Benton Church and in his later years enjoyed attending church with a special friend, Feleniece Miller, at the Gresham Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Frances (Bryan) Forell, on Jan. 2, 2004 and by two sisters, Alice Forell and Olive Moffit.
He is survived by: a daughter, Jean Forell of Flint; three sons, Karl (Shelley) Forell of Williamston, Jon (Roberta) Forell of Charlotte, Lynn (Karen) Forell of Charlotte; 11 grandchildren, Jodi (Gary) Cobb, John (Denise) Forell, Sheri McClean, Matt (Jennifer) Forell, Travis (Julie) Forell, Toby Crowe, Shelby (Scott) Goddard, Kristen (Greg) Fuller, Tim (Tina) Fuller, Joey and Andrew Skowyra; 14 great-grandchildren, Sheri Beth and Travis Cobb, Rebekah and John David Forell, Madison and Mackenzie Forell, Kendra and Ginger Fuller, Aiden Goddard, Dylan Zopf, Alex and Colin McClean, Austin Forell and Justus Forell.
Services were held on Friday, Sept. 22, 2006 at Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Pastor Kathy Smith officiating.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Eaton Community Hospice.
Frank J. Frayer, Sr.
Frank J. Frayer, Sr., of Bellevue, born Jan. 1, 1925 in Lansing Township, the son of William and Gladys Frayer, passed away Oct. 8, 2006 at the age of 81.
Frank was a 1945 graduate of Sexton High School. He served in the U.S. Navy on a liberty ship during World War II. After the war he worked for Oldsmobile in Lansing as an electrician for more than 32 years.
On May 28, 1945 Frank married Helen Irene Hey. They lived in Wacousta until 1955 when they moved to Bellevue where they farmed for a few years and raised four wonderful children and John. Frank loved to sail and made his own sailboat. He also enjoyed working on the computer, reading and working crossword puzzles.
Surviving are his wife, Helen; all five children, John W. Frayer of Bellevue, Franklin J. Frayer, Jr. of Charlotte, Jeffrey A. (Pam) Frayer of Bellevue, Jeannie M. Bolz of Marquette, Judith A. (Lupe) Ruiz of Spokane, Wash.; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wesley Frayer, Vernon Frayer; and sister, Helen Martin.
Mass of Christian Burial took place on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Bellevue, Rev. Fr. William Koenigsknect, officiating. Interment was in Hillside Cemetery, Kalamo Township. Memorial donations may go to Eaton Community Hospice.
The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue.
Rosemary A. Fronek
Rosemary Ann (Cotsman) Fronek, 66, of Lansing, formerly of Charlotte, died Friday, June 30, 2006 in Lansing. Rosemary was born May 21, 1940 in Mt. Pleasant the daughter of Nicholas and Anne (Jacksyn) Costman and had been a Lansing resident since 1959.
She was a 1958 graduate of Charlotte High School and was a retired secretary. She was skilled in arts and crafts, was a talented seamstress and had a keen interest in ancient Egypt.
She was preceded in death by the mother, Anne J. Cotsman in 1987 and her father, Nicholas Cotsman in 1988.
Surviving are her daughter, Anna Fronek of Ft. Collins, Colo.; two grandsons; three sisters, Nikki (Russ) Wystra of Stuart, Fla., Darlene (Myron) Place of Columbus, Ohio and Evonne Raymond of Portage; and seven nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held July 6 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Rev. Darwin Kuhl officiating. Interment was in West Carmel Cemetery, Charlotte.
