Audrey E. Randall
Audrey E. (Harris) Randall, 71, of Mason, formerly of Olivet, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006 at her residence after a long illness. Audrey was born Aug. 30, 1935 in Walton Township, Eaton County, the daughter of Russell E. and Hazel (Liggett) Harris.
She lived most of her life in the Olivet area until moving to Albion and then Mason eight years ago. She was a 1953 graduate of Olivet High School, was a member of the Mason Assembly of God, where she taught Sunday school and she was also involved with the Ingham County Fair. She worked as a Head Start teacher in several different schools, including Grand Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orville Randall; brother, James Harris; step-daughter, Gail Yorks; and step-father, Car Winegar.
She is survived by six children, Patty Cline of Matoon, Ill., Warner Randall of Muskegon, Carl (Louise) Randall of Homer, Lori (Ted) Shepherd of Marshall, Lorin "Bo" Randall of Mason and William Burnett of Mason; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Ivan (Janet) Harris of Olivet; and one sister, Irma Dunsworth of Shelton, Wa.
Funeral services were held Oct. 11 at New Hope Community Church, Charlotte with Pastor John Taylor of Mason Assembly of God officiating. Internment was at Bosworth Cemetery, Olivet. Memorials may go to the family.

Laroy C. Ranshaw
Laroy Clell Ranshaw, 84, of Charlotte, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006 at his residence.
Mr. Ranshaw was born March 7, 1921 in Eaton County, the son of Clifford Earl and Dora (Geer) Ranshaw. He was a retired truck driver for Gra-Bell Truck Line and Pepsi. He was an avid fisherman and gardener, and especially enjoyed his and Millie’s trip to Alaska and their home in Florida.
He is survived by: daughter, Julie Mae Ranshaw of Charlotte; son, Terry Lee Ranshaw Sr. (fiancee Nan Doxsie) of Charlotte; stepsons, Henry (Sandra) Wright Jr. of Oklahoma, Jack (Carol) Wright of Bloomfield Hills; stepdaughters, Joan (Dave) Banner of Muir, Karen (Tony) Huesca of Lake Mary, Fla., Karolyn Wright of Holt; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Marilyn) Ranshaw of Charlotte.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, in 2002; and a stepson, James, in 1956.
Funeral services were held Feb. 9 at First United Methodist Church in Eaton Rapids, with Pastor Tom Evans officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Eaton Rapids. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Donis J. Rawson
Donis J. Rawson, 81, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006. Mrs. Rawson was born Aug. 30, 1925 in Eaton County, the daughter of Alfred and Madalene (Smith) Newth.
Mrs. Rawson had a passion for doing good for others, she enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing cards. After retiring she loved to travel to Arizona to visit her best friend Mary Lou Wilson. One of the most important things in her life were her grandchildren, of which she was most proud.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1999 and brother, Robert.
She is survived by daughters, Heidi (Perry) Parks of DeWitt, Jody (Jim) Gunia of Lansing; son, Jeff Rawson of DeWitt; former daughter-in-law, Lacey Rawson of DeWitt; grandchildren, Hana Parks, Haley Parks, Gabriel Gunia, Makenna Rawson and Clayton Rawson.
Funeral services were Nov. 10 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Rev. Bryan Sheen officiating. Interment was at West Carmel Cemetery in Carmel Township.

Donald Joseph “Joe” Ray
Donald Joseph “Joe” Ray, 46, of Bellevue, died Jan. 20, 2006 at home.
Joe was born Nov 25, 1959 to John E. and Margaret (Turner) Ray in Whiting, Ind. He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1978 and worked on the production line at Denso Manufacturing.
He is survived by his sons, Joshua Ray and Joseph (Micheala) Ray; his mother, Margaret Turner; brother, Johnny (Janet) Ray; sisters, Mary Ray, Joyce (Bob) Dunham, Nancy (Alan) Bachelor and Jennifer Hildeman; and his faithful Lab, Ginger.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services were held Jan. 24 at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue, with Pastor Steve Olmstead of Pleasantview Family Church officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to his surviving sons, Joseph and Joshua Ray, 211 S. Broadway, Union City, MI 49094.
Violet (Nelson) Ray
Violet (Nelson) Ray, 83, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006.
Violet was born Feb. 15, 1923 in rural Barry County, the daughter of Albin and Inez (Lundstrum) Nelson. She graduated from Olivet High School and Michigan State University. She was a home economics teacher, having retired from Charlotte High School. She was a member of the Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church, the Brookfield Order of the Eastern Star and the HGB Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are: her husband of 62 years, Clyde Ray; sons, Roger, of Lansing, and Nelson (Rochelle) of Hillsdale; four grandchildren, Adrian, Aimee, Aubrey and Anderson Ray, of Hillsdale; sisters in-law, Evelyn Nelson and Bessie Nelson, both of Eaton Rapids and Dora Nelson of Grand Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Albert, Victor and Wilfred Nelson and her sister, Viola (Max) Sutherland. She greatly enjoyed working with the students while teaching and watching her grandchildren develop. After her retirement, she as always excited about many vacation trips in the United States and Canada.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Kendall Lewis and Rev. Verne Summers officiating.Interment in the Danby Cemetery in Ionia County will follow. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte.
Cecil A. Reed
Cecil A. Reed, 75, of Dimondale, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2006 in Lansing.
Cecil was born Jan. 30, 1931 in Alma. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict (in France), and retired from General Motors in 1983 and farmed. Cecil was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping and loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Lester, and two sisters, Esther and Fladella. He is survived by: his wife of 50 years, Beverly; three daughters, Carol (Kurt) Nevins of Springport, Beth (Randy) Campbell of Louisville, Ky., and Lisa Reed (Terry Martin) of Lansing; six grandchildren, Kurtina and Kyle Nevins, Amanda and Brian Campbell, Christopher (Erin) and Elizabeth Griffith; one great-grandson, James Griffith; two brothers, Laurence (Shirley) Reed of Houghton Lake, John (Ellie) Reed of Shepherd; two sisters, Loretta (Gene) Hindenlang of Elm Hall, Madalyn Moon of Stanton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held March 20 at Robbins United Methodist Church, Eaton Rapids, with interment following at Dimondale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
Donna G. Reed
Donna Grace Reed, 96, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006. Donna was born to J. Freeman Edmonds and Lily Rogers on June 17, 1909, in Dublin, Texas. She was the third of four children.
Donna attended Texas Woman’s College in Denton, Texas for two years. She then worked for her father in the family photography business. While attending the Winona School of Photography, she met Lowell R. Reed. They were married on Dec. 27, 1941. They lived in Battle Creek for six years and then opened Reed Studio in Charlotte in 1952. Donna worked as a photographer until May of 2005.
Donna was a member of the Professional Photographers of America and the First Congregational Church of Charlotte. She was the piano player in the Seven Red Peppers, a dance band in Dublin, Texas in the late 1920’s. She also played the piano for the Methodist Church in Dublin. Although she lived more than half of her life in Michigan, the spirit of Texas never left her.
Donna is survived by a daughter, Dianne (Bill) O’Keefe of Grosse Pointe Shores, and a son, John (Janet) Reed, of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Carrie (Matthew) Calcaterra and William Reed O’Keefe; two great-grandchildren, Christina and Courtney Calcaterra; a sister, Louise Ford, of Port Arthur, Texas; and a nephew, David Stickley of Port Arthur, Texas.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Lowell, a brother, Frank Edmonds and a sister, Evelyn Stickley, and two nephews, Roger Edmonds and Charles Edmonds Stickley.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 11 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte with Rev. Phil Hobson officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Charlotte or the Holley Ear Institute.

Larry D. Reed
Larry D. Reed, 65, of Potterville, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006. Mr. Reed was born Sept. 3, 1941 in Flint, the son of Dewey and Doris Reed.
Mr. Reed was a welder for the Michigan National Guard before retiring in 1991 and was a pit crew member in his earlier years for an Airlift sponsored Nascar. He was a cook, animal lover, Nascar Fan and enjoyed going to his cottage in Atlanta. Mr. Reed was a dragster fan and built "Rails" in his earlier years. He loved his children and grandchildren and would build computers for them.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; son Aaron (Karen) Reed of Lansing; daughter Jennifer (Joseph) Brazelton of Charlotte; six grandchildren, Alexis, Averi, Michael, Natasha, Bill and Alexander; niece Jodi (Russell) Gifford of St. Johns and Aunt MaryLou (Don) Johnson of Tennessee.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 22 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Reverend Tom Peters officiating.
