Joseph O. Hummel
Joseph O. Hummel, 39, of Cadillac, formerly of Nashville, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at Mercy hospital Cadillac.
Mr. Hummel was born In Battle Creek on March 28, 1964, the son of James and Mary Ann (Hull) Hummel. He attended Maple Valley Schools and after graduating he continued his education at Denver Automotive & Diesel. He was employed as a heavy mechanical technician at 4 Seasons Ford (formerly Weigners) in Cadillac for over 19 years, beginning in 1985. During that time he received the Technician Mentor Award, which was granted by Ford Motor Company. Joe was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time in the north woods hunting and fishing. His outdoor lifestyle he passed on to his beloved children, as they spent countless hours together enjoying nature. Joe was also a fan of auto racing, especially Sprint cars.
He is survived by his parents, James and MaryAnn Hummel; sons, Joel O. Hummel II, William Hummel; daughter, ElizabethAnne Hummel; sister, Sherry Hummel; sister, Deborah (Michael) Clark; four aunts and uncles and eight step aunts and uncles; step-grandmother, Gladys Hummel; former wife, Candy Bogema; former brother-in-law, Jerry Brown; two nephews and several cousins; two former sisters-in-law and one former brother-in-law; former in-laws, Don and Diana Williams; and several special friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Sidney and Violet Hull; step-grandmother, Mildred Hill; grandparents, Joel and Clara Hummel; and special cousin, Wes.
Funeral service was held at Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville on March 20, with Rev. Malcolm Brown officiating. Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery in Nashville immediately following the funeral service.

Norma K. Hunsaker
Norma Kay Hunsaker, 62, of Charlotte, died at her home.
Mrs. Hunsaker was born Oct. 16, 1941 in Eaton Rapids, the daughter of Lyle and Rita (Smith) Dunn. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
She is survived by daughter, Penny Hunsaker of Charlotte; sons, Bill (Teresa) Hunsaker of Arizona, David Hunsaker of Charlotte; grandchildren, Raquel Belosic, Sean, Cristina, Samantha and William Hunsaker; brothers, Jim and Ralph Dunn; sister, Barb Young; half-sisters, Doris and Joann; and half-brother, Lyle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Hunsaker on July 11, 1996; her brother, Keith; half-brothers, Don, Lester and Lloyd; and half-sister Maxine.
A memorial service was held Feb. 16 at American Legion Post #42 in Charlotte, with Rev. Fr. Max. J. Frego officiating. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home of Charlotte.
Donald “Bud” F. Hunt
Donald “Bud” F. Hunt, age 82, of Charlotte and formerly of Eaton Rapids, died Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at the Eaton Community Hospice House. Bud was an Army Veteran of World War II and was a former Truck Driver for U.S. Truck Co. in Detroit.
Surviving are his wife Patricia; 3 daughters, Karen Dunkel of Dimondale, Susie Morey of Canadian Lakes and Annette Holochar of Carmel IN.
Memorial services were Monday, August 9 at 11:00 a.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. Burial followed in the Rosehill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids with military honors provided by the American Legion Harold Teeter Post #15. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Community Hospice House in memory of Donald “Bud” Hunt.
Charles E. Imhoff
Charles “Charlie” E. Imhoff, age 81, retired General Motors’ employee, passed away Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004 at his home in Nashville, surrounded by his beloved family, after a short illness.
Mr. Imhoff was born March 1, 1922 in Grand Ledge, the son of Howard and Florence (Burke) Imhoff Sr. He was raised in the Grand Ledge are and attended area schools there. On Feb. 2, 1942 in Grand Ledge, he married Shirley Corwin. The couple spent their first nine years of marriage living in Grand Ledge, but moved to the Vermontville area where they spent the majority of their lives together raising their family. Mr. Imhoff was employed at General Motors in Lansing for over 31 years, retiring in 1986. In his early years Charlie loved playing football and softball. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time in his garden, hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling. He was well known in the Nashville community for his Christmas spirit. Each holiday season Charlie would put together a beautiful display of Christmas lights at the couple’s Nashville home. He had a great sense of humor and was loved by many.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Shirley (Corwin) Imhoff; daughters, Nancy (Wayne) Kent of Cadillac, Marilyn Frye of Portage, and Linda (Edgar) Boldrey of Nashville; two Eagle and Ruth of Florida; brother-in-law, Richard (Erma) Corwin of Harrisburg, Pa.; sisters-in-law, Gladys (Charles) Madry of Bellevue and Lois Cline of Venice, Fla.; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Howard; and two sisters, Mary and Gretchen.
Funeral services were held Feb. 3 at Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville, with Pastor Alan Metler officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Barry Community Hospice or maple Valley Scholarship Fund.
Lawrence G. (L.G.) Ives
Lawrence G. (L.G.) Ives, age 91 of Eaton Rapids, passed away August 1, 2004 at his residence.
He was born December 28, 1912 in Millbrook, Michigan, the son of Othel and Isabell (Douglas) Ives. Mr. Ives was a retired Supervisor in the Tool & Die Division at General Motors, Lansing with 42 years of service, retiring in 1972. He was a member of the General Motors Retiree Club, the Fraternal Order of Moose #1039 in Lansing and a member of the Loyal Order of Eagles #288 in Lansing. He was an avid supporter of the Art of Ballroom Dancing. An avid outdoorsman who planted over 70 thousand trees. He owned and operated an Arabian Horse Farm and also raised Peacocks on his farm in rural Eaton Rapids.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his son, Lance in 2002 and a sister, Cuma Warner in 2003.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joan; daughter, Rhonda Ives of Coldwater, 3 grandchildren, Joni Martin, Krista Hasselbring and Jack Ives; 2 nieces, Kay Pierce and Susan Kirby.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with burial following in the Deepdale Memorial Park in Lansing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made to the Ingham Hospice in memory of L.G. Ives.
Forrest Wayne Jackson
Forrest Wayne Jackson, age 80, of Eaton Rapids, died Saturday, January 31, 2004 in Jackson. Mr. Jackson was born April 17, 1923 in Jackson, Michigan, the son of Andrew and Vera (Cole) Jackson. Mr. Jackson was an Army Veteran of WWII and had worked 30 years for the Mead Bros. Excavating Co. as a Crane Operator. He was a Life member of the International Operating Engineers Local #324, a Life member of the V.F.W. Adams Rockey Post #6056 in Springport, and a member of the Griffith United Methodist church in Eaton Rapids. Preceding him in death was his wife, Marie Blanche (Surprenant) in 1995; brother, Frederick Jackson; and sister, Marietta Hammond.
Surviving are 4 children, Gerald (Judy) Mascoli of Lansing, Barbara (Roger) Pattersn of Jackson, Cindy (the late Gary) Smith of Springport and Ann (Gerald) Bartig of Pleasant Lake; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Jackson; sisters, Naida Pelton and Mary Bailey; sister-in-law, Mildred Jackson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. Burial will follow in the Springport Cemetery with military honors provided by the Springport V.F.W> Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. for those desiring, memorial gifts may be made to the Activities Department at the Countryside Care Center in Jackson or a charity of one’s choice in memory of Forrest W. Jackson.
Norma C. Jackson
Norma C. (Davis) Jackson, of Sunfield, passed away Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 in Dimondale at the age of 75.
She was born July 5, 1929 in Morrice, the daughter of Otto and Helen (Proudfoot) Davis. Norma had been a resident for the past 2 ˝ years of the Dimondale Nursing Care Center. She retired as secretary of Lakewood High School after 23 years. She was mother, nurse, counselor and friend to hundreds of kids. Norma was a avid bowler, golfer, and loved to travel. She loved her five exchange students as her own. Norma was preceded in death by her mother and father, stepfather, infant brother and exchange student daughter.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, LeRoy; son Mike (Connie) Jackson, daughter Londa (Randy) Williams, brother Bill (Joyce) Davis, brother Larry (Edna) Davis, sister Shari (Jim) Musser; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Oct. 4 at Sunfield United Brethren Church, with Pastor Darrel Bosworth officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sunfield Area Sponsors of Programs for Youth (SPY’s), or the Sparrow Hospice. Arrangements were by Rosier Funeral Home in Sunfield.
Frances D. Jamison
Frances Dorothy Jamison, 84, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004 at Eaton Community Hospice House in Charlotte.
Frances is survived by sons, Jim (Pat) VanWormer of Charlotte, Dick (Faith) VanWormer of Indiana; daughter, Dorothy (Carl) Bushre of Mesick; grandchildren, Jeff (Karla) VanWormer, David (Patty) VanWormer, Amy (Gary) O’Hare, Kari (Nathan) Weller; great-grandchildren, Mattheu, Arrianne, Kyler, Kalyn, Kalyb, Austin and Brandon; sisters, Marion Jones of Lansing and Barbara (Jim) Jones of Cadillac.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life was held Sept. 11 at First Assembly of God, East Lansing, with Pastor Curt Dalaba officiating.

Agnes C. Jefferies
Agnes C. Jefferies, age 71, of Mason, formerly of Charlotte and Potterville, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall.
Agnes was born June 10, 1932 in Stanton, and in her early years attended school in Remus. She like to be with people, was affectionate, had a good sense of humor and was always cheerful and cooperative with others. She liked animals and had a collection of stuffed animals.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene (Clouse) Bostetter and step-father, Stanley Bostetter.
She is survived by numerous caregiver and friends, including those at East Oak Residential in Mason.
Funeral services were held Feb. 3 at Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Joshua Wilmoth of New Hope Community Church officiating. Interment was next to her parents at Deepdale Memorial Park in Lansing.
