Judy K. Kozora
Judy Kay (Rose) Kozora, 62, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004.
She was born Feb. 3, 1942 in Sturgis, to John and Juanita Rose. She was married to Andrew Kozora. Judy was a member of Five Corners Worship Center, retired from Owens-Illinois Glass and Care Free Products and had been an Avon representative.
Surviving are her husband, Andrew Kozora; sons, Jody (Debbie) Homan of Ozark, Ala., and Jesse (Gabi) Homan of Ingelheim, Germany; stepson, Craig Kozora of Portage, Ind.; stepdaughter, Heather (Joe) Jose of Bourbanannise, Ill; her mother, Juanita Rose of Charlotte; brothers, John (Gladys) Rose of Olivet, Bruce (Karen) Rose of State Line, Calif., and Paul Rose of Charlotte; six grandchildren, Lena and Christopher Homan of Ingelheim, Germany, Celia and Casey Homan of Murray, Ky., and Corey and Shane Homan of Ozark, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joel Homan; father, John Rose; and brother, David Rose.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services were held Aug. 13 at Five Corners Worship Center, with Pastor Marty Saunders officiating. Inurnment was in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Alice Ann Kreger
Alice A. Kreger, age 91, of Eaton Rapids, died Monday, February 23, 2004 at a Lansing hospital. Alice was born February 15, 1913 in Hamlin Township, the daughter of Fred and Delia (Covey) Clarke. Mrs. Kreger graduated from the Eaton Rapids High School class of 1931 Summa cum Laude and was a graduate of County Normal. She taught for a few years at Bay Window Country School in Hamlin Township, and also worked in fund raising for the V.F.W. National Home. She enjoyed cooking as much as her family and church family enjoyed eating her cooking. Mrs. Kreger was a very active member of the Eaton Rapids Wesleyan Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, L.J. Kreger in 1977 and her brothers, Hugh Clark, Don Clarke and Lawrence Clarke; sisters, Marian Ramsey, Dorothy Williams and Doris Swan.
Surviving are her daughter, Phyllis (James) Stillman of Whitmore Lake, MI; 3 grandchildren, Jon (Kim), Lee (Roxanne) and Nell and 4 great-grandchildren, Jenny, Holley, Amy and Jamie; sister-in-law, Mildred Clark; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 26, 2004 from the Eaton Rapids Wesleyan Church with Rev. Frank Klassen officiating. Burial followed on the family plot in the Rosehill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. Pallbearers were Allen Clarke, Gary Clarke, Don Clarke, James Stillman, Leon Stillman and Jon Stillman. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Rapids Wesleyan Church in memory of Alice A. Kreger. The family was served through the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids.
Paul Kremke
Paul Kremke of Charlotte, 67, died unexpectedly May 29, 2004 in Mitchell, S.D. Paul was born Dec. 1, 1936 in Papillion, Neb., the son of Louis and Stella (Oliver) Kremke.
He had been a Charlotte resident for 32 years, coming from Coldwater, He was a 1954 graduate of Millard Nebraska High School and was a member of the Charlotte Country Club. He had been involved in auto sales for the past 20 years and prior to that had owned the former Kremke Meat Co. in Charlotte.
Surviving is his wife, Norma J. (Pearson) Kremke; five children, Pam (Mike) Cappella of Coldwater, Missy (Don) Hutchens of Middleville, Marty Kremke of Charlotte, Tricia (Brian) Hilgendorf of Calendonia and Joel (Donelle) Kremke of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 18 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Adam, Paul and Benjamin Cappella, Kori, Kara, Christi, Andy and Nick Hutchens, Laura, Hillary, Zoe, Matt, Avery and Sam Kremke, and Tessa, Ian and Breenen Hilgendorf; and two brothers, Lou (Olga) Kremke and Bob (Charlene) Kremke, both of Omaha, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Andrew Kremke; two granddaughters, Michaella and Andrea Cappella; and his sister, Edna Kenworthy.
Funeral services were held June 2 at the First Lutheran Church in Charlotte, with Pastor Timothy Olson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements were by Burkhead-Green Funeral Home of Charlotte.
Leone Daniels Kring
Leone Daniels Kring, age 90, of Eaton Rapids, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004 in Charlotte. Leone was born Oct. 31, 1913 in Salt Lick, Ky., the daughter of Emmit and Lulia Beatric (Hobbs) Daniels. She retired from Eaton Rapids Community Hospital in 1976 after 16 years as a cook.
Mrs. Kring was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay Kring in 1985.
Surviving are her two sons, Rodney Kring of Potterville and Harold (Judy) Kring of Homer; five grandchildren, Barbara (Robert) Lomax, Sandra Cole, Deborah (Terry) Lemley, James (Tracey) Kring, Douglas (Christy) Kring; seven great-grandchildren, Christopher Kring, Jessica Cole, Justin Feeney, Heather and Rachael Lemley, Jordan and Logan Kring; one great-great-grandson, Donavin Kring; one brother, Lawrence Daniels of Topeka, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Jan. 27 at Shelly-Odell Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. Graveside services were held Jan. 27 at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmel, Ind.
Stanislaw W. Kutek
Stanislaw Kutek, 60, of Potterville, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004. Stan was born Jan. 1, 1944 in Wygnanow, Poland, to Aleksander and the late Wladyslawa (Golab) Kutek.
He lived in Michigan for 23 years, most recently employed at Alro Steel in Potterville. Stan was happiest spending time with his family and also enjoyed photography and outdoor activities.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Elzbieta Alabuszew-Kutek; father Aleksander, sister, Elzbieta Orcyzk, son Rafal and grandson Michal Kutek, all of Sosnowiec, Poland, son Michal Kutek of Potterville, and stepdaughter Anna M. Drozd of Potterville.
The family will receive visitors 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004 at St. Casimir Church 815 Sparrow Ave., Lansing, Michigan with a Memorial Mass at 1:30 p.m. A reception will follow the service. Arrangements are being handled by Pray Funeral Home, 401 W. Seminary Street, Charlotte.
Floyd R. Laird
Floyd R. Laird, 89, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004.
Mr. Laird was born Jan. 29, 1915 in Madison County, Ark., the son of Arthur Daniel and Siothia (Dorsey) Laird. He was a journeyman machine repairman for Oldsmobile. He loved fishing, hunting and gardening with a huge flower garden.
He is survived by his wife, Helen (Sikes); son, Gary (Pam) Laird of Overland Park, Kansas; daughter, Marjean (Charles) Chapman of Grand Ledge; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and sisters, Velma (Kenneth) Shepherd of Hinesville, Ark., Wanda Harrison and Helen Steinbarger of Huntsville, Ark.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Fay, Marvin, Arlis, Kenneth and Ray; and two sisters, Nona Eastep and Flora Hanley.
Funeral services were held Aug. 13 at Chester Gospel Church, with Pastor Marc Livingston officiating. Interment was at Bohannan Cemetery in Huntsville, Ark.
Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
William "Bill" J. Lampson
William (Bill) J. Lampson, age 68, of Eaton Rapids, died August 2, 2004 at Eaton Community Hospice House, after a valiant fight against cancer. Bill was owner/operator of Thermal Acoustics Company in Eaton Rapids for 35 years. Bill was a past President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Eaton Rapids and was awarded the Junior Chamber of Commerce Senator ship. He was a member of the Lansing Builder’s Assoc. and held numerous Union memberships. Bill loved NASCAR and at one time he sponsored a car at the local Spartan Speedway. Bill spent 10 years with the Grand Trunk Railroad out of Battle Creek, Michigan, and was a Diesel Engineer when he left the railroad in 1964. He was predeceased by his father, Roy Lampson and mother, Florence Lampson and brother, Charlie Lampson.
Surviving is his wife, Barbara J. (Bennett) Lampson of Eaton Rapids; son, Steven R. Lampson (fiancée, Kelly Malloy) of Eaton Rapids; daughters, Renee (Patrick) Dubois and Michelle (Paul) Nicholas of CA; stepchildren, Valarie (Martin) Phillipich, Debora (Jason) Knight, Michael (Yon Kuy) Barros, Joseph (Brenda) Barros; 5 grandchildren and 7 step-grandchildren; sister, Susan (James) Long.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 7 at 11:00 a.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. For those desiring, donations may be made to Eaton Community Hospice of Charlotte.
Leon Lanstra
Leon Lanstra, 74, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004. Mr. Lanstra was born Sept. 10, 1929, in Grosse Point.
He served with the U.S. Coast Guard for four years. He worked 25 years for the U.S. Post Office until he retired in 1972 and then he worked 20 years for First Federal of Michigan Bank until he retired in 1992. He attended the Charlotte First Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing and collecting elephants.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lillian (Burgess) Lanstra, daughters Sherrill (John) Cape of Kalamazoo, Faye (Bruce) Patterson of Walled Lake, and Christina (Dan) VanGent of Thousand Oaks, California, five grandchildren, and twin sister Leonne Borders of Madison Heights.
He was preceded in death by sister Audre’ Golenski and brother Larry. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 7 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Pastor Robin Crouch officiating. Interment will be 1 p.m. Monday, at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Michael T. Larder
Michael Todd Larder, 52, of Toledo, Ohio, formerly of Bellevue, died Sunday, July 11, 2004 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Battle Creek.
He was born Nov. 12, 1950 to Charles and Patricia (Todd) Larder of Bellevue. He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1968 and attended Kellogg Community College. Mike served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Staff Sergeant from 1970 until 1985. Since leaving the military he’s worked as a corrections officer in Milan and as a truck driver for J.B. Hunt. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf and hunting.
Mike is survived by his son, Brian larder of Newport, N.C.; his parents, Charles and Patricia Larder of Bellevue; sister, Judy Larder of Kalamazoo; niece, Skyler Kerr; and several aunts and uncles.
Memorial services were held July 15 at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue, with Rev. Robert Heine of Central Christian Church officiating. Interment was at Bell Cemetery.
