Clarence E. Reid
Clarence E. Reid, age 89, of Nashville, passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2004 at Pennock Hospital in Hastings.
Mrs. Reid was born Aug. 25, 1914 in Gaylord, the son of Fred and Eva (Cowling) Reid. He was raised in the Gaylord and Battle Creek areas and attended school there. The family moved to the Nashville area during his teenage years. On June 4, 1944 at the Methodist Church in Bellevue, he married Margaret Robinson. The couple lived in Kalamo during their early years together, then moved to the Nashville area where they established their family farm and raised their family. Clarence was employed at Kellogg’s in Battle Creek for over 25 years as a cereal processor, retiring in 1976. He loved farming and raising live-stock, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Clarence was always doing something; after retiring, he kept himself busy fixing bicycles for area children. In his later years he enjoyed putting puzzles together, spending time on the pontoon boat and spending time with his grandchildren, whom he especially enjoyed as babies.
He is survived by his wife of 59n years, Margaret; children, Darwin (Tammie) Reid, Vernon (JoAnne) Reid, Anetta (David) Tredinnick, Darrel (Karen) Reid, Vaughn (Dianna) Reid, Ardie (Sue) Reid, Jerry (Jacky) Reid; 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters and a grandson, David.
Funeral services were held Jan. 6 at Grace Community Church, with Pastors Don Roscoe and Rob VanEngen officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, Grace Community Church or Nashville Ambulance Service. Arrangements were by Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville.
Maria E. Reyna
Maria Ellena Reyna, 30, of Charlotte, died Monday, May 3, 2004 at her residence.
Miss Reyna was born June 8, 1973 in Lansing.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Solis of Charlotte; brothers, Jose (Amy) Reyna Jr. of East Lansing, Marcos Reyna of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; sister, Jessica (John) Lewis of Charlotte; and grandmother, Maria Velasquez.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Guillermo Velasquez.
A funeral mass was held May 6 at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Timothy Byrnes as celebrant. Interment was at Perry Cemetery in Charlotte.
Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home of Charlotte.
Joseph D. Reynolds
Joseph Daniel Reynolds, 50, of Lansing, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004.
Mr. Reynolds was born Oct. 5, 1953 in Jackson, the son of Dan and Arleta Joy (Lemke) Reynolds.
He is survived by his parents and sister Vicki Reynolds of Lansing.
Graveside services were held Aug. 12 at Oakwood Cemetery, Hamlin Township.
Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Maxine M. Reynolds
Maxine M. (Lynd) Reynolds, 86, of Charlotte, died Thursday, July 15, 2004 at the Harbor of Charlotte after a long illness.
Mrs. Reynolds was born Nov. 25, 1917 in Bellevue, the daughter of William and Ethel (Green) Lynd and was a lifelong Eaton County resident. She had been employed for a time at the former Wally Hanson’s Store, Jerrolds, Richeys and the Dime Store.
She was married to Howard A. Reynolds on Aug. 19, 1936; he preceded her in death on April 6, 1994. Also preceding her in death was a son, Robert Reynolds; granddaughter, Susan Freeman; and brothers, Lyle and Frederick Lynd.
Surviving are one daughter, Joyce (William) Freeman of Charlotte; one son, Allyn (Rena) Reynolds of Stanton; seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several step great grandchildren; and two sisters, Pauline Dies of Nashville and Doris Masters of Charlotte.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 19 at Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Pastor Robin Crouch of First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at Bosworth Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Charlotte. The family will receive visitors Sunday, July 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Burkhead-Green Funeral Home.
Rondle R. Richardson
Rondle R. Richardson, age 86, of Tompkins, died Saturday, June 12, 2004 in Jackson. Rondle was born August 14, 1917 in Tompkins Twp. the son of Roy Richard and Josephine Arlene (Chappell) Richardson. He retired from Sears Service Department in Jackson in 1983 after 38 years of service. Being a charter member of the Triangle Hunting Club, Rondle was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Richardson.
Surviving are his life companion, Betty Curran of Springport; daughter, Connie (Bill, Jr.) Hoag of Duck Lake; 2 grandchildren; Bill (Becky) Hoag III of Narrow Lake, Lori (Steve) Calandro of Eaton Rapids; 3 great grandchildren, Tricia, Katie, and Sam Hoag; niece, Virjean (Preston) Parr of Onondaga, grand nephew, Chad (Rochell) Parr of Onondaga, grandniece, Erica (Chris) Ward of Onondaga; 2 great grandnieces, Kahley and Morgan Emens; and 1 great grandnephew, Eric Parr.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main, Eaton Rapids with Pastor Merlin H. Pratt officiating. Interment will follow at Tompkins Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Pope United Methodist Church in memory of Rondle.
Julie Ann Ringo
Julie A. Ringo, age 45, of Eaton Rapids, died Easter Sunday at her residence following a terminal illness. She was born January 14, 1959 in Miami, Florida, the daughter of Robert David and Janet (Munch) Streeb. Mrs. Ringo was a loving and devoted mother who also enjoyed her horses. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Leah Ringo, father, Robert David Streeb and brother, Daniel Streeb.
Surviving are her 6 children, Shannon, Lindsay, Noelle, Jessie, Nikki and William Cody all at home; Goddaughter, Bonnie Jones of Eaton Rapids; 3 grandchildren, Mariah and Alexandra Simons and Justine Ringo; longtime companion, Butch Siple of Eaton Rapids; ex-husband, William Ringo of Lansing; mother, Janet Streeb of Whitmore Lake; brother, Russell Streeb of Miami, FL; sister, Linda Kenney of Atlanta, GA; nephews, Ian and Ryan Streeb and Jacob Kenney.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 17, 2004 from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with burial following in the Rosehill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday and Friday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Bernadine D. Robins
Bernadine Deloris Robins, 78, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004.
Mrs. Robins was born March 7, 1926 in Charlotte, the daughter of Herman and Doris (Hine) McKnight. She enjoyed her family and was an avid collector of dolls, radios, magnets, roosters and salt and peppershakers.
She is survived by sons, Ronald (Christine) Robins of Middleville, Dennis (Judy) Robins of Grand Ledge, Barry Robins of Charlotte and David Robins of California; eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; brothers, Milford McKnight and Delvin Hinton.
She was preceded in death by her husband Amos on Dec. 23, 2003, her son Lanny in 1990, and great grandson Bryan in 1994.
Graveside services were held Oct. 28 at West Carmel Cemetery, with R. Raymond Rossell officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Ella J. Rogers
Ella Jean Rogers, 85, of Mulliken, died Friday, May 7, 2004 at the Eaton County Medical Care Facility in Charlotte.
Mrs. Rogers was born Jan. 17, 1919 in Roxand Township, a daughter of Howard and Eithel Mae (Greenwood) Cramer Sr. She attended Gresham United Methodist church.
Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; son, James; granddaughter, Becky Rogers; sister, Vanietta Barnhill; and brother, Howard M. Cramer Jr.
Surviving are her son, John Rogers of Mulliken; daughter, Judith (Lloyd) Reed of Dimondale; eight grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; niece, Beth (Dave) Booher of Belleville; and nephews, Tom (Tina) Barnhill of Mason and David (Sandi) Barnhill of Lansing.
Services were held May 11 at Barker-Leik Funeral Home in Mulliken, with Pastor Kathy Smith and Rev. Gene Moore officiating. Interment was at Meadowbrook Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dan Daly, John Reed, Greg Rogers, Jeff Rogers, Jimmy Rogers and Kevin Rogers.
