Jeana Rae (Fagan) Rogers
Jeana Rae (Fagan) Rogers, age 43 of Springport, passed away unexpectedly in a house fire January 25, 2004. She was born February 29, 1960 in Coldwater, MI.
Surviving are her children, Annie (Greg) Snyder of Albion; Burdette Pombier Jr. and Travis Pombier, both of O’Fallon, MO; Danielle Pombier of Springport; Charlie Rogers and Summer Rogers of Springport and Tami Johnson of Lansing; husband Kevin Rogers of Springport, and stepfather Richard “Fuzz” (Sandy) Tennant of Onondaga. Grandchildren, Matthew Berg of Grand Rapids, Analiese and Madison Snyder of Albion, Autumn Rogers and Levi Rogers of Springport. Sisters, Joleen (Ken) Bills of Onondaga; Dorci (Mike) Franks of Eaton Rapids, Kari (Fagan) King of Tekonsha. Brothers, Darr Hoag of Tompkins Center, Kyle (Lori) Fagan of Eaton Rapids, nephews, Jeff (Teresa) Brown and Tony (Janell) Brown of Springport; Shawn Patton and Shane Fagan of Eaton Rapids. Nieces, Krystal Hoag of Jackson, and Xanna Fagan of Eaton Rapids. She was preceded in death by a husband, Burdette Pombier Sr. in 1988, her father Raymond Fagan in 1996 and her mother Waunette “Een” Tennant in July 2003.
Funeral arrangements are being made through Robertson Funeral Home in Springport.
Neal W. Rogers
Neal W. Rogers, age 77, of Eaton Rapids, died Monday, May 17, 2004 in Eaton Rapids. Neal was born April 24, 1927 in Lansing, the son of Claude and Hattie (Sprague) Rogers. In 1978, after 31 years of service, Neal retired from Oldsmobile as a toolmaker and years later retired from dairy farming. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy and was a life member of the Onondaga VFW Post #6986. Neal was a former Eaton County 4-H leader, member of the County Fair Board and member of the Moose Lodge. Mr. Rogers was former Executive Vice-President of the American Agriculture Movement, Inc. He was famous for his chicken barbequing expertise. Neal was preceded in death by his brother and 3 sisters.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Barbara Ann (Friedley); children, Mark (Priscilla), Roy (Gwen), Russell (Shannon), Maurica Brown, Marcia (Brian) Kemper, Ralph Squires, Annette (Norman) Nealey, Cathy (Harold) Wuerfel, Neal M. (Teann), Noel, Nola (Mark) Auernhamer; special nephew, S/Sgt. Keith (Eden) Barber now serving in Iraq; 24 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Julia Rogers; 2 nephews; 1 niece and his beloved dog, Rosie.
Funeral services were held on Thursday May 20, 2004 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main, Eaton Rapids, with Pastor Jack Fugate and Rev. Mark Auernhamer officiating. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery. Casket bearers were his sons and nephew; honorary bearers were the Hamlin Township Firefighters. Those desiring may make contributions to either the Griffith United Methodist Church Building Fund, the Hamlin Township Fire Department of the Eaton Rapids Medical Center Foundation in memory of Neal W. Rogers.
Linda K. Rolfe
Linda Kay Rolfe, 42, of Katy, Texas, formerly of Charlotte, passed away June 26, 2004.
Surviving are her sisters, Jerri mastren of Texas, and Laura Howe; one aunt, three nephews, six nieces, three great-nieces, one great-nephew, and her cat Crackers.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Art and Madonna Rolfe.
After cremation she will lie in rest with her parents.
Marlene J. Rood
Marlene J. Rood, 68, of Charlotte, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004.
Mrs. Rood was born March 3, 1936, in Lansing, the daughter of James Trahair and Pearl Christensen. She was a manager at Circle K Convenience Store and owner of Marty’s Limousine Service in Dunedin, Fla. She was known as one of the “3 Musketeers” of Kiwanis Manor in Charlotte.
She is survived by daughters, Kim (Donald) Trader of Olivet, Carolyn (Steve) Cyphert of Charlotte and Vicky Good of Olivet; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothea Maggard of Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by husband, Edmund L. Rood; son, Steven Rood; brother, James; her parents; and her stepfather, Harold Smith.
Memorial services were held Aug. 12 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Rev. Doug Hammond officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Lupus Foundation or American heart Association. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Berneda June Ross
Berneda June Ross, age 84, of Eaton Rapids, died Wednesday, August 11, 2004 in Lansing. She was born February 25, 1920 in Evart, MI, the daughter of Cleveland H. and Eva Mable (Hayward) Williams. Berneda was a member of the Cedarway Free Methodist Church in Lansing and attended the Wesleyan church in Eaton Rapids.
Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur in 1979, she is survived by 2 daughters, Eva Mae Johnson of Leslie and Janice Fuller of OK; 1 son, Duane (Connie) Ross of Eaton Rapids; 6 grandchildren, Brian (Peggy) Ross, Kimberly (Matt) Cooper, Andrea Glynn, Jim Johnson, Kipann (Jim) Gottman, Chad (Rebecca) Reeve; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Doris Cook of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids with Pastor Frank Klassen officiating. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Eaton Rapids Wesleyan Church or the Eaton Rapids Medical Center in memory of Berneda Ross.
Liam A. Ross
Liam Allen Ross passed away Sept. 6, 2004 in Nashville, Tenn. At the tender age of 11 months, due to a rare heart defect called hypoplasty left heart.
Liam was born on Sept. 25, 2003 in Dover, Tenn.
He is survived by his parents, Micah (formerly of Webberville and Potterville) and Mandi Ross of Clarksville, Tenn.; his big sister, Bailey, also of Clarksville; grandparents, Rodney and Elise Ross of Potterville and Rhonda and Jeff Rahls of Dover, Tenn.; great-grandparents, King and Janell Paige of Dover, Tenn. And Velma Ross of Williamston; Aunt Diane and Uncle Brian with cousins Andrea and Ross Kemp of Bellevue; Aunt Sarah with cousin Morgan Priddy of Jackson; Uncle Brandon Earhart of Shepard Air Force Base, Texas; and special Great Uncle and Great aunt Roger and Dimple Sills, also of Dover, Tenn. He is also survived by numerous great aunts and uncles and cousins from all over Michigan.
Liam was preceded in death by his great-grandpa, Harry Ross, and great great grandparents, Esther and Bob Jones.
Barbara A. Rosser
Barbara Ann Rosser, 50, of Charlotte, died July 22, 2004.
Barbara was born March 15, 1954 in Reed City, the daughter of Donald and Lois (McLachlan) Rohdy.
She is survived by son, Corey Rosser of Webberville; daughters, Kelly (Bryon) Marsh of Evart and Bailey Rosser of Charlotte; sister, Carol (Randal) Reedy of Evart; brothers, Steve (Pam) Rohdy of Charlotte, Donald (Karen) Rohdy of Barryton, Richard (Kendra) Rohdy of Manistee and Gary (Amy) Rohdy of Farwell.
Funeral services were held July 26 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Pastor Phil Hobson officiating. Interment was at Forest Hills Cemetery in Evart.
Memorial contributions may be made to Charlotte Oriole Band Boosters.
Alice J. Roush
Alice Josephine Roush, who lived most of her life in Charlotte, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004 at Munson Hospital in Traverse City. She was 83 years old and was born April 11, 1920 to Maynard and Nellie Oldt. Jo had only recently moved to Eastport, to live closer to family.
Jo was an accomplished artist and a founding member of Eaton Art League. She and her husband, Don, lived in Charlotte most of their married life. Don was the founder and owner of LDS Office Supply in Charlotte until his retirement. The business was then continued to their son, Paul, until 2003.
Don preceded her in death in 1996.
Jo is survived by her four children and their families: David and Rebecca Roush of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and their children, Denise, Jennifer and Mathew; Paul and Patricia Roush of Central Lake, and their children Wade and James; J. Michael Roush of Greenwich, Conn.; and Christine and Herbert Brail of Dearborn, and their children Laura and Kathryn.
A memorial service is being planned for family and friends to be held in May at Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church in Charlotte. Further notice will be made for the date and time of the service.

Deborah L. Rozell
Deborah L. (McCoy) Rozell, 55, of Nashville, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2004 while in the company of family members at her residence.
Mrs. Rozell was born in Battle Creek on July 6, 1948, the daughter of Charles and Elanor LaWave (Gallihugh) McCoy. She grew up on the Battle Creek area and attended local schools there, graduating from Harper Creek High School. On Oct. 17, 1964 she married Richard Rozell. The couple lived in the Battle Creek area for several years after they were married, until moving to Nashville in October 1972. The couple was married for over 39 years. Debby was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved being with her family and friends. She also loved camping, traveling and going to the casino. She was a lifelong member of St. Cyril’s Catholic Church in Nashville and Women of the Moose.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, LaWave McCoy; daughter, Teresa (Glenn) Rozell-Katz; son, Richard Rozell; brother, Cahrles McCoy Jr.; and eight grandchildren, Adam and Kerri Timm, Tahnee Katz, Casey, Erika, Paige, Alex and Roman Rozell.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles McCoy Sr., and a sister, Louis Ann Walling.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church in Nashville on March 26, with Father Mike Stafford officiating. Interment was at Floral Lawn Cemetery in Battle Creek.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were by Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville.
