Ronnie Keefer
Ronnie Keefer, 27, of Sunfield, passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003 in Kalkaska.
Ronnie was born Feb. 26, 1976 in Lansing, the son of Ronald and Janet (Abbott) Keefer. He was raised in the Sunfield area and attended area schools, graduating from Lakewood High School in 1994. After graduating form high school, he continued his education at Ohio Auto Diesel in Cleveland, Ohio, where he gained proficiency in small engine repair. This knowledge he readily applied to helping friends work on their motorcycles. After college, Ronnie returned to the Lakewood area where he was employed as an autobody technician for Tri-County Autobody in Woodbury. Ronnie’s true passion was found in riding motorcycles and playing softball. He was the type of individual who naturally inspired the young children in his life. He combined his passions for motorcycle riding and playing softball by coaching youth baseball and instructing young riders. During the summer months he played both co-ed and men’s softball on various leagues throughout the area, participating in tournament games as often as possible.
He is survived by his mother, Janet (Abbott) Keefer; father, Ronald Keefer; sister, Aimee (Alvin) (Keefer) Hawley; grandmother, Lettie Keefer; grandfather, Philip (Mary) Abbott; and four special nieces and nephews, Jared, Benjamin, Nathan and Cassandra.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Scott Keefer.
Funeral services were held Aug. 22 at Nashville Baptist Church, with Pastor Lester DeGroot officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronnie Keefer Memorial Fund. Arrangements were by Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville.
Gloria “Jean” Keehn
Gloria “Jean” Keehn, age 71, of Eaton Rapids, died Monday, October 27, 2003 in Lansing. Born September 6, 1932 in Eaton Rapids, the daughter on Ora and Bertha (Spaulding) Harper. Jean was a member of the First Congregational Church in Eaton Rapids and a member of the Eaton Rapids Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carleton in 1994.
Surviving are her 4 children, Donald (Jan) Keehn Jr., Carla (Ken) Mazur, Pam (Tom) Braatz and Larry Keehn; mother, Bertha Harper; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; half sister, Connie (Mitchell) Jenkins and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held October, 30th at 1:00 p.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with burial following at the Rosehill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. Pallbearers were Tony Gordon, Leon Bartlett II, Bradley Keehn, James Ohmar, John Vincent, and Donald Keehn, Jr.
Marilyn Keehne
Marilyn C. Keehne, 83, of Bellevue, died July 25, 2003 at Eaton County Medical Care Facility in Charlotte.
She was born Aug. 10, 1919 to John and Kitty Dodd in Eaton County, and graduated from Vermontville High School. She married Edward Keehne; he died Dec. 12, 1975. Marilyn was a member of Bellevue United Methodist Church and the Esther Circle, and the VFW Auxiliary, former Post 6689.
She is survived by sons Edward Keehne of Evart and William (Helene) Keehne of Zeeland; granddaughters, Angie Gross of California, Nicki Gross of Oklahoma and their mother Suzanne Keehne of Nashville, Tenn.; granddaughters, Mitzi Keehne of Washington, Ronda Keehne of Arizona and their mother Connie; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; and two sisters.
Services were held July, 30 at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue, with Pastor Mark Thompson officiating. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation.
Louise Keeley
Louise Marian Keeley, 91, of Charlotte, died Saturday, June 14, 2003. Mrs. Keeley was born Sept. 30, 1911 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Gustav and Grace (Holdeman) Schleicher.
She was a homemaker who always enjoyed her family. She is survived by her son James (Nancy) Keeley of Charlotte, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and sister Helen Hendrix of Corunna.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1983 and daughter Barb Sharp in 2002.
Memorial services were held Thursday June, 19 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte with Pastor Charles Dalton officiating.

Milo “Mike” Keesler
Milo “Mike” Keesler of Onondaga, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, December 1, 2003 at home under the watchful eye of his loving wife, Donna, of 61 years. Mike was a life member of the Springport VFW Adams-Rocky Post #6056. He was a Boy Scout leader from 1931 to 1954 at Charlesworth, MI and also at Onondaga. He was a World War II veteran in the Pacific Theater. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Jackson in 1980.
He was the father of four wonderful sons, Michael (Carol) of Leslie, Norman (Lorrie) of Quincy, Thomas (Maureen) of Byron Center, Donald (Linda) of Gregory, three beautiful daughters, Karen (Douglas) Gibbs, Karri (Andrew) Howe both of Leslie, Billie Jo (Troy) Grivet of Jackson, 25 grandchildren, one brother, Marion Keesler of Springport, and one sister Marilyn (Ed) Wolf of Albion and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Ilah Keesler of Eaton Rapids.
A service celebrating Mike’s life was held at Robertson Funeral Homes, Leslie Chapel on December 5, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Rocky Wing officiating. Interment followed at Onondaga Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Grace Church of Eaton Rapids.
Elizabeth May Rogers Kellogg
At age 100, Elizabeth M. Kellogg of Eaton Rapids, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 in Dimondale. Mrs. Kellogg was born March 17, 1902 in Eaton Rapids Twp., the daughter of Sydney Morris and Maud May (Place) Rogers. Elizabeth graduated from Eaton Rapids High School, Class of 1920, and worked at the Michigan Bell Telephone Office in Lansing. Her interests centered around her family and neighbors, and she wrote four books about them. She had been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Eaton Rapids for over 67 years and was very proud of the fact that her great grandmother, Sevina (Lowell) Rogers was a charter member of the church. Most of her life was spent on the Rogers Centennial farm north of Eaton Rapids. Her great grandfather, James Ingalls Rogers moved to Michigan from New York state in 1838 and she was reared on stories of pioneer days with Indians and wild animals figuring prominently. She was a bird watcher and wildlife enthusiast. In 1933 she was married to Herschel J. Kellogg, who was from Plainwell, MI and he preceded her in death in 1971. Her stepson, Rollin E. Kellogg also preceded her in death in 1992.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Heron of FL; 2 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several cousins, including Doris Rogers, who helped care for Mrs. Kellogg. Cleo, Doris’s husband, worked her farm for many years before his death in 1992.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 22, 2003. At the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids with Pastor Tom Evans officiating. Interment followed at Munger Cemetery, Eaton Rapids Twp. Those desiring may make contributions to the First United Methodist Church in memory of Elizabeth M. Kellogg.
Jeannette J. Kikendall
Jeannette June Kikendall, 73, died July 13, 2003.
Mrs. Kikendall was born June 20, 1930 in Chester Township, Eaton County, the daughter of Earl Harold and Lydia Myrtle (Betts) Wells. She had been living for the past three years in Columbia, Tenn., with her daughter and son-in-law. She retired from Hayes Green Beach Hospital as an LPN several years ago and was a member of First Congregational Church of Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by husband, Bud Kikendall; daughter, Cheryl Kay Kikendall; son Michael John Kikendall.
She is survived by son, Charles Earl (Claudia) Kikendall; daughter, Cindy Lou (Kevin) Carpenter; five granddaughters, Missy (Courtney) Suntken, Kattie Kikendall and Garrick Williams, Katrina (Michael) Kutzleb, Jamie (Tom) King, and Elizabeth; one grandson, Andrew Carpenter; three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June 16 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Rev. Courtney Suntken officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.
Mary L. Kikendall
Mary Lorraine Kikendall, 68, of Charlotte, died Dec. 15, 2003.
Mrs. Kikendall was born Jan. 22, 1935 in Port Huron Township, the daughter of Alvin and Dorothy (Alcorn) Moore. Mary was a former Roller Derby Queen for the Port Huron Rockets and a former Powder Puff Demolition Derby contestant.
Mary is survived by her husband, Dale Kikendall of Charlotte; daughters, Carolyn (Larry) Siefert of Springport, Julia Schamehorn (Doug Foreman) of Olivet; step-daughters, Kelly (Gary) Fowler of Springport, Anita (Brady) Robertson of Jackson; 13 grandchildren, Christopher, Juan, Jessica, James, Charles, Christina, David, Jacob, Joey, Austin, Nikki, Cheyanne and Hunter; brother, Alvin (Maraleen) Moore; and sister, Carolyn Basnaw, all from Port Huron; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Barry Frasier in 1977.
Funeral services were held Dec. 17 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Rev. Donald Green officiating. Interment was at Lakeport Cemetery in Port Huron.
