Ruth Mary Kikendall
Ruth Mary Kikendall, age 76 of Eaton Rapids, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at her residence. She was born August 22, 1926 in Hamlin township, the daughter of George and Vera (Thuma) Egan. Mrs. Kikendall was a former nurses aid and had worked in several nursing homes in the area. She was a member of the Griffith United Methodist Church in Eaton Rapids, the Eaton Rapids Conservation Club, and the Michigan Farmers Hall of Fame. She was a former 4-H leader and a former Brownie Leader. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis “Corky” Kikendall on August 13, 2002 and a son, Kenneth J. Kikendall at the age of 6.
Surviving are 4 children, Frances Penny (Thomas) Parsons of Eaton Rapids, Georgia Marie (Robert) Stapleton of Eaton Rapids, Charles Arthur Kikendall of Eaton Rapids and Lois (David) Colestock of Eaton Rapids; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; a sister Rachel Eagan of Eaton Rapids and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 8, 2003 from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with the Rev. Jack Fugate, officiating. Burial followed in the Oakwood Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. Alfred W. Kill
Alfred Wayne Kill, 70, of Charlotte died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003.
Mr. Kill was born Nov. 26, 1933 in Missaukee County, the son of Henry and Grace (Dinguss) Kill. He worked for Johnson Iron for 23 years.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley (Burger) Kill; daughters, Sharon (Ed) Lettermore and Penny (Roy) Therrien, both of Charlotte; sons John (Gari) Kill of Mulliken, Jeff Kill of Dimondale, Martin (Connie) Kill of Olivet; daughter, Amy (Pat) Gardner of Charlotte; son, Steve (Lisa) Kill of Nashville; daughter, Lisa Meyers of Charlotte; 32 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; sisters, Timmer Chartrand of Portland and Vi (Bud) Hiar of Grand Ledge.
He was preceded in death by sisters Beatrice Evans and Marie Hiar.
Funeral services were held Dec. 26 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Vicki Hill officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.

Isabelle L. King
Isabelle Loretta King, 81, of Charlotte, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2003.
Mrs. King was born Nov. 12, 1922, in Lansing, the daughter of Edward and Bertha (Piper) Griswold. She worked for Aluminum Extrusions.
She is survived by daughter, Candice (Ernie) Woofter of Charlotte; sons, Paul (Sunun) King of Charlotte and Terry (Earlene) King of Vermontville; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother, Milo (Ruth) Griswold of Greenville; and sister, Margaret Stevens of Cadillac.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Kind in 1972.
A graveside service was held Oct. 11 at Maple Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Phil Hobson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Heart Association. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home of Charlotte.
Tamara E. King
Tamara E. King, 48, of Charlotte, died Thursday, May 22, 2003.
She was born May 17, 1955 in Pikeville, Ky., the daughter of Annie (Pishner) and Kendall Gibson. She was a loving mother and best friends to her daughters, and special to those she held dear.
She is survived by daughters, Vanessa King of Olivet and Valerie King of Charlotte; brothers, Robert David (Ethel) Whitaker and Joseph Vincent (Melissa) Whitaker, both of Charlotte; stepfather, Kendall Gibson of Kentucky and former husband Calvin King.
Funeral services were held May 27 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Rev. Father Jeffery Robideau officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Fibromyalgia Syndrome Association.
Donald Kipp
Mr. Donald Kipp, age 89, formerly of Eaton Rapids and Six Lakes, passed away October 28, 2003 at his home.
Donald was a retired employee of Detroit Motor Wheel with 39 years of service, life member of Six Lakes Mason Lodge #454 F.& A.M. and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bird watching.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret, 3 children, Jon (Donna) Kipp of Lansing; William (Laurie) Kipp of Nashville; Lori (Edward) Weeks of York, SC; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister Arlene (Jack) Keeny of Charlotte; sister-in-law Hyacinth Kipp of Fremont, OH.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 31 at Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge, with Masonic Services conducted by the Six Lakes Masonic Lodge; Rev. Lyle Heaton of the Wacousta Community United Methodist Church officiating. Interment followed at North Eagle Cemetery, Eagle Twp., Clinton Co. For those desiring, contributions can be made to the Eaton County Hospice in memory of Donald Kipp.
Cynthia L. Kita
Cynthia “Cyndi” Lou Kita, 43, of Bellevue, died Sunday, April 13, 2003.
Mrs. Kita was born July 27, 1959 in Hastings, the daughter of Herbert Jake and Viola Mae (Allen) Miller.
She is survived by her husband, John Kita; son Eston Lee Kirby of Olivet, daughter Casey Lynn Lampman of Charlotte, and son Derek Desoto Lampman of Charlotte; sister, Kathy Johola of Charlotte; and brother, Jim Miller of Charlotte.
Funeral mass was held April 16 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Charlotte, with Rev. Fr. Denis Spitzley as celebrant. Interment was at West Cemetery in Charlotte. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte.
Florence M. Kline
Florence Marian Kline, formerly of Charlotte, died Saturday, March 8, 2003 at Kelsey Memorial Health Center in Lakeview. Mrs. Kline was born Aug. 12, 1908 in Chester Township, the daughter of David and Grace (Rogers) Baker. Marian married James Ferguson Aug. 29, 1928; he preceded her in death Aug. 5, 1972. She then married George Dean who preceded her in death, and then George Kline who also preceded her in death. Marian had been a member of OES #218 Maple City Chapter, and Ruther Circle at church. She had worked in Children Services of Probate court for many years.
Surviving are three sons, Carlton (Mary) of Greenville, Wendell (Joan) of Waterloo, Iowa, and John D. (Jo) of Mesa, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Vance (Neva) Baker of Charlotte.
Funeral services were held March 12 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Rev. Karen Wheat officiating. Interment was at Gresham Cemetery.

Fred Koning, Jr.
Fred Koning Jr. of Hudson, Fla., formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2003 in Pownal, Vt. at age 48.
Mr. Koning was born May 28, 1954 in Grand Rapids to his parents Fed and Evelyn (Reil) Koning.
He is survived by his three children, Fred Koning III of Nashville, Heather Koning of Freeport and Brooke Koning of Grand Rapids; one granddaughter, Jaelynn Purdum of Freeport; his mother Evelyn Koning Charlotte; sister, Kim Schneider of Charlotte; and former wife, Jane Jones of Freeport.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Koning Sr., in 1989.
Family Affirmation Services were held March 20 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte.
