Addie Parr
Addie L. Parr, 92, of Charlotte died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003 at the Eaton County Medical Care Facility. Mrs. Parr was born March 20, 1911 in Chester Township, Eaton County, the daughter of Elbert and Lulu Belle (Mitchell) Root.
She was a lifelong Eaton County resident and had been a member of the former Emma Grange.
Surviving are one son, Jerry Parr of Jackson, three daughters, Shirley Hayter, Valean Jaquette and Linda Brown, all of Charlotte, 20 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Frieda Root of Grand Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorr L. Parr, in 1981, two brothers, Lawrence and Harold Root, and sister, Elsie Parr.
Funeral services were held Dec. 20, 2003 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Pastor William Tate of Evangel Christian Church officiating. Interment will be in the Perry Cemetery in Brookfield Township.

Evah D. Parr
Evah D. Parr, 98, of Charlotte, died Saturday, July 19, 2003 after an extended illness.
Mrs. Parr was born March 1, 1905 in Vermontville Township, the daughter of Fred and Cora (Steves) Rawson, and was a lifelong Eaton County resident. She was a member of the Chester Extension Group and Eaton County Farm Bureau, and had been employed for a short time at the former Wilcox-Gay Co.
Surviving are eight children, Wayne (Marian) Parr of Dade City, Fla., Jean Davis of Eaton Rapids, Venice (Jack) Martin of Hastings, Shirley (Bruce) Bryan of Hastings, Nona Osborne, Dick (Sharon) Parr, Sharon Bayes and Linda Garrison-Kehres, all of Charlotte; 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carson Parr; grandson, Michael Parr; and granddaughter, Stephanie Rand.
Funeral services were held July 22 at Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Rev. Kathy Smith officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlote.

Donald Passick
Donald Passick, age 72, of Eaton Rapids, loving husband, father, papa and friend, died Friday, September 26, 2003 to be with the Lord. Don was born Aug. 12, 1931 in Albion, the son of John and Frances (Rogers) Passick.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Maxine (Napier); children, Mark, Donald and Amy Passick; stepchildren, Brenda Cowles, Sharon Gullett, Jacqueline Gullett and Chryl (Dr. Dan) Jackson; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers, Ken, Jim and Harold and “My son” Russall Jolly. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Michael Gullett and sister, Irene Dawson.
Donald loved God, enjoyed his family, friends and church. We will miss his smile and great sense of humor. “Rest in peace my darling, I love you. If love alone could have kept you here you would never have died.” He was my wonderful husband and friend. My memory of his smiling face and kindness will live on forever. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Don was a retiree of Local 333, Plumbers and Pipefitters Union and served as a Sgt. In the Korean War (1952). He was head usher of Life Christian Church. A special thank you to Great Lakes Hospice of Jackson for all their help and kindness shown.
A memorial service was held on Monday, September 29, 2003 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home. Interment of cremains will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Those desiring may make contributions to Great Lakes Hospice, Jackson, in memory of Donald Passick. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Earl N. Pearson
Earl N. Pearson, age 80 of Forest Lake, Minnesota, formerly of Eaton Rapids, died July 2, 2003. He was an army veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by son Andrew and daughter Kim.
He is survived by his wife Mildred; sons, Brian (Sandy), David, and William; daughters, Carol (Horst) Peterson, Jill (Steve) Lemmer, Martha (James) Ackerman; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Saturday, July 5, 2003 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota. Private interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. The family was served by Mattson Funeral Home.
Mildred R. Pearson
Mildred R. Pearson, age 79, of Forest Lake, MN, formerly of Eaton Rapids, died on July 2, 2003. She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew; daughter, Kim; and husband, Earl.
She is survived by sons, Brion (Sandy), David, & William; daughters, Carol (Horst) Peterson, Jill (Steve) Lemmer & Martha (James) Ackerman; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service was held Friday, August 22, 2003 at Mattson Funeral Home.
Ronald W. Peters
Ronald W. Peters, 67, of Charlotte, died Aug. 16 at 12:30 a.m. at his home, surrounded by his family, after a five-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.
Ronald lived and worked at the family farm for 67 years, which he loved.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle; mother Ila; and sister, Phyllis.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy (Becktel); sister and borther-in-law, Jeanette and Jerry Clark; mother-in-law, Alice; sister-in-law, Janice; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Deb; daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Pat Ruthruff; two grandchildren, Jessica and Michelle; special friends, Nolan and Jackie SPotte, Ted and Pat Herber, and Pat and Floyd Burley; two special children in his life, Nicholas and Allen; numerous nieces and nephews; and a large list of friends.
Graveside services were held Aug. 21 at Bosworth Cemetery in Olivet.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hayes Green Beach Hospital in Charlotte. Arrangements were by Burkhead-Green Funeral Home of Charlotte.
Marie L. Peterson
Marie Louise Peterson, 81 of Charlotte, died Saturday, April 19, 2003.
Mrs. Peterson was born March 7, 1922 in Algrange, Moselle, France, the daughter of Jacque Martin and Marie Barbe (Drui) Zenner.
She is survived by daughters, Marie Ann (Brian) Callahan of Medfield, Mass.and Michelle Kay Peterson of Charlotte; grandchildren, Shane, Kendra and Brian Jarrett; sister, Jacquelene of Basse Yutz, France; a niece and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. Peterson on June 3, 2001.
A Family Affirmation Service for family and friends was held April 21 at Pray Funeral Home, with R. Raymond Rossell facilitating.

George L. Pettit
George L. Pettit, age 82, life resident of Eaton Rapids, died Tuesday, October 28, 2003. He was born October 5, 1921 in Eaton Rapids, the son of George and Mildred (Chapel) Pettit. George was an Eaton Rapids High School graduate, class of 1940. He was a former member of the Eaton Rapids Jaycees and the Chamber of Commerce. George was the owner and operator of Pettit Hardware in Eaton Rapids, a family owned business that served the Eaton Rapids community for the past 117 years. He was a member of the Old Mill Restaurant “Liars Club.” He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth “Sis” Pares; and twin brother, Hallett Pettit.
Surviving are his four children, Mari Lin Pettit of Midland, Annette Pettit and friend Gary Johnson of Lansing; Michael (Judith) Pettit of Eaton Rapids and Susan (Michael) Arrington of Eaton Rapids; 4 grandchildren, Eliott and Taylor Pettit and Adrienne and Alex Arrington; sister-in-law, Donaldeen Pettit of Eaton Rapids and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Friday, October 31 at 11:00 a.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. Burial followed in the Rosehill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. Pallbearers were Nick and Custance, Kenny Kendall, Jim Schnepp, Elliott Pettit, Jack Pettit and Hal Pettit; Honorary bearers were, Murray Moore, Woody Smith, Cy Goodnoe, Cliff Hoffman, Leon Hoppes and Gary Johnson.
